"My lords, I am Henkel, the vice-master of the Knights of Erwin, and I have been in charge of managing our search teams in the south."
The warriors of the Temple on the eastern coast of the Black Sea lived a hard life. There were no bustling cities, no beautiful women, and, more importantly, the income was low. In order to win over the soldiers, the "search teams" were formed with the tacit approval of Elder Hines. They usually preferred to "search" camel caravans and merchant caravans, and occasionally they would search villages to see if there were any dirty and evil elements.
“Three days ago, the priests who were preaching the light in Rasht fled back to Elwynn. They said the Rakshasa sent an entire orc army to Rasht in tens of thousands of small boats…”
"Rasht? Have the Russians gone mad?"
Several knight commanders found it hard to believe when they heard that the orc army had landed at Rasht.
To the east of the Caucasus Mountains lies the Caspian Sea, which stretches 1,200 kilometers from north to south. Its northernmost point is at the mouth of the Ural River within Russia, while its southernmost point is Rasht.
Rasht is a small port city at the southern end of the Caspian Sea, not far from Lai, a major city on the Silk Road.
Theoretically speaking, if one were to travel by boat from within Russia, it would indeed be possible to bypass the Caucasus Mountains and travel south of Tbilisi.
However, the orcs do not know how to build ships or navigate. If they want to travel south via the Caspian Sea, they must rely on the Rakshasa, who never actively cooperate with the orcs in raiding southwards.
For thousands of years, the Rakshasa have been oppressed by the Orcs. The Rakshasa are responsible for both attacking and covering the rear. If the Temple attacks into the Rakshasa territory, they will fight to the death. However, they are never willing to cooperate with raids that are just a quick grab in Persian territory. This is because when it comes to retreating, the Rakshasa will definitely cover the rear, and it will be almost impossible for them to return to their homeland. Who would be foolish enough to risk their life for the Orcs?
Moreover, the Russians on the northern shore of the Caspian Sea did not have the capacity to build ships on a large scale. Transporting an entire army over a thousand kilometers could not be done with small sampans; countless people would die along the way.
"The Rakshasa people are truly insane! Are they really willing to die for the orcs? These traitors to humanity!"
Seeing Elder Hines's gloomy face, the knight commanders finally believed the fact that was so hard for them to accept.
"My lords, you are all mistaken. On my way here, I encountered Rakshasa cavalry and the elite vanguard of the Orcs!"
"In this group, the Rakshasa people... are the leaders, while the orcs are in a subordinate position!"
