"These two... don't let them die too easily!" Qin Mo's voice had a sinister tone, showing no remorse whatsoever for the traitors.
"Your Highness, please rest assured, Bourne has awakened. He needs fresh blood to replenish the damage to his body after being awakened."
Amanda's graceful figure swayed slightly before she arrived in front of Yokoyama and Lord Gu, grabbing them by the neck and dragging them into the darkness like a dead dog.
"You and Bourne come to see me tomorrow. It's time to get to work!"
Qin Mo shouted into the empty darkness, and although he received no answer, he was sure Amanda heard him.
The following evening, the four vampires indeed arrived at the workplace Qin Mo had designated for them—a hidden experimental workshop within the shipbuilding factory.
"Your Highness, are you going to build a clockmaking workshop here?" Amanda looked at the spacious workshop and the large number of metal forging machines, and nodded in satisfaction.
"Oh! First, clocks and watches, then some machining equipment, and maybe even machinery!"
Qin Mo didn't just intend to use them as watchmakers; mechanics was the profession he had chosen for them.
“Your Excellency Qin Mo, we are only here on the orders of Prince Isabel to cooperate in establishing a watchmaking workshop. Everything else is none of our business.”
Old Bourne, with his gray hair, had no fondness for Qin Mo. If it weren't for chasing Qin Mo's sloop, why would he have been exiled to the East? And then subjected to all sorts of restrictions, nowhere near as free and unrestrained as he was in his own castle.
“I think you’ve misunderstood Princess Isabella’s meaning. She sent you here to be under my control, and what work you do is entirely up to me!”
“But my descendants told me that His Highness the Prince specified the construction of the clockwork workshop and said nothing else.”
Old Bourne was angry, but he didn't dare to lash out because of Amanda beside him. However, he could still have a little spat.
Making clocks can be fast or slow; he can make one in a day or one in a year, it's up to him. But it wouldn't be good if Qin Mo had the final say. Would he really want to swing a hammer and forge iron for him?
“Bourne, do you want to go back to your coffin and sleep, or do you want me to tear you apart?” Amanda said grimly, baring her fangs at old Bourne.
Qin Mo stopped Amanda's outburst because he knew a true story from his previous life.
A top clockmaker was captured and sent to a concentration camp. There he made countless clocks, but none of them were as accurate as they should have been.
It's not that the watchmaker doesn't want to achieve the highest precision, but rather that he can't calm his mind. Working willingly versus being forced to work, the same craftsmanship, leads to two completely different outcomes.
“Amanda, I want him to work for me willingly. According to the rules of your vampire clan… how should this be resolved!”
"Naturally, we'll resolve this by force; the loser will naturally submit to your command!"
Qin Mo chuckled as he looked at the somewhat frightened Marquis Bern.
Before Old Bourne could react, he saw Qin Mo's not-so-large fist come flying at him, leaving him no chance to dodge.
In a short while, a lot of old Bourne's neatly trimmed white hair was pulled out, and his nose was also beaten crooked. It was only because Qin Mo knew that fangs were the lifeblood of vampires that she would have pulled out two of them.
But Qin Mo was really ruthless; she didn't hit the body, she just hit the face!
Qin Mo flicked her hand and took out a simple but clear mechanical diagram, which immediately attracted the attention of the four vampires.
“I call this mechanical structure a ‘tourbillon.’ Amanda, you’ll be in charge of its development, and Bourne, you…”
Qin Mo looked at Old Bourne, whose eyes were fixed on the blueprints, and said, "You go and forge iron first!"
