Chapter 354 To Enter or Not to Enter
"This person entered the royal court on a full moon night six years ago and has never come out again!"
The old elf Kabur glanced at Qin Lan's portrait, then seemed to understand something. "You came to the Holy Land because of him?"
Qin Mo slowly put away the portrait and said quietly, "That's my father!"
Kabul was visibly taken aback, then sighed, "He's a very polite person. If I had known about his relationship with Saint Luna, I would have stopped him!"
Helena chimed in, "Uncle Kabul, Qin Mo's father was also a Saint-level expert. How could someone as powerful as him have perished in the Royal Court? What terrifying things are inside the Royal Court?"
Kabur shook his head and said, "It's not the royal court that's terrifying, it's the greed in people's hearts. If one has no greed in their heart and doesn't enter the royal court, how could they perish?"
Kabur, perhaps realizing his words had been rather harsh, turned to Qin Mo and asked, "Did your mother tell you anything about Emperor Achilles' treasure?"
"My mother left when I was very young? She didn't tell me anything about the elves!"
“Alas! My ancestors told us that on the night of the full moon, the moon goddess would choose the purest-blooded elves to be the inheritors of the treasure, and would also devour any foreigners who entered the royal court, even a super-powerful being like your father…”
Kabur said self-deprecatingly, "For decades I entered the royal court searching for the secret of the treasure, but I didn't even see a shadow of the Moon Palace. But when Saint Luna came, she had no interest in the treasure at all. Her noble character really made me ashamed, so I stopped indulging in wishful thinking."
"So, all these years... haven't any foreigners entered the royal court and come out alive?"
"Those who gained nothing naturally came out, but strangely, the stronger they were, the less likely they were to emerge. None of them escaped the Moon Goddess's punishment; darkness will devour those greedy aliens!"
Qin Mo chatted with Kabul for a while longer, but to no avail. He felt that something was wrong, but he couldn't figure it out. So he stopped thinking about it and got up to leave.
After coming out, Helena said apologetically, "Uncle Kabul hates people of other races very much, so he said some very harsh things. Please don't mind him, sir!"
“He’s telling the truth. If my father hadn’t come here to search for the treasure, he wouldn’t have perished… It’s all because of me…” Qin Mo sighed, her mood very low.
"Lord Qin Mo, have you found out any news about your father?"
Hena and Gina saw Qin Mo and Helena returning from afar and quickly came over to ask them what was wrong.
"They must have... truly perished..."
Seeing Qin Mo shake his head dejectedly, both kind-hearted little girls showed sad expressions.
"Henna, let me see if you've been slacking off lately!"
Qin Mo looked at the two innocent elf girls, smiled, and struck a pose as if they were sparring, reminding Haina of the time when she was tortured.
Haina has a good grasp of the material. The combat techniques taught by Professor Qin Mo weren't the most complex or top-tier type, but she has already mastered them quite well in just over a month.
"Not bad. I'll teach you some more later. You need to practice diligently!" Qin Mo stopped her stance with satisfaction. Hai Na timidly stuck her little head over, and only after Qin Mo gave her a head pat did she show a satisfied expression and obediently retreat to the side.
"Henna...you actually...know authentic Elven combat techniques?" Henna had never shown the combat techniques Qin Mo taught her to outsiders before. This time, Qin Mo tested her knowledge, which revealed her true abilities, making Helena extremely envious.
"Henna, let's spar sometime! I've never seen many of the combat techniques you used before!" Gina teased Henna.
Heina was still innocent and naive. After hearing Helena and Gina's envious words, she became very embarrassed. She habitually hid behind Qin Mo, blushing and remaining silent.
"Hina's strength is still too weak. I told her not to be too ostentatious, so please don't make things difficult for her. Actually, if you have any questions about combat techniques, I can answer them a little!" Qin Mo looked at the few kind free elves and decided to give them some pointers. They couldn't learn top-level combat techniques because of their bloodline, but he could still teach them some basic combat skills.
That evening, Qin Mo spent half the night in Gina's house explaining combat techniques to Gina, her siblings, and Helena's family of three, which greatly benefited the elves.
In the final moments, Qin Mo spontaneously displayed a "Crescent Moon Slash," and a bright crescent moon flashed across the silent, ruined city, captivating the eyes of all the elves.
"It's actually the legendary royal secret technique, Crescent Slash... This... Isn't he a half-elf?" On the roof of a ruined house in the distance, the old elf Kabul was filled with shock.
The next morning, none of the children in the city went to Kabul's place; instead, they all waited at Gina's doorstep for Qin Mo to appear.
"Qin Mo...Sir, I'm sorry...I've caused you trouble. They just wanted to observe..."
The old elf Kabur was very embarrassed. Elven combat skills are passed down orally. Over the years, not to mention the free elves of Oslo, even the few elven tribes that had submitted to the orcs had lost the inheritance of high-level combat skills. Now, he had finally encountered Qin Mo, a fool who didn't take high-level combat skills seriously. For the sake of the children, he had no choice but to swallow his pride and come to Qin Mo's door.
"Oh! There are many combat techniques you can't learn! But you can learn the basic combat techniques, though I can't guarantee how much you'll master!"
