Chapter 339 Prometheus's Worries

Chapter 339 Prometheus's Worries

White Sea City is very small, or it would be more appropriate to call it White Sea Town. It is located on the southwest coast of White Sea. In Qin Mo's previous life, it had another name - Belomolsk.

"Ahead lies White Sea City, where people live in poverty. Several years ago, many people began to follow the doctrines of our temple. I first received the news here that the orcs had captured many people and sent them to work in the north, but none of them returned. They asked me for help at the time... but I was powerless to help them."

This time, Prome spoke in the Great Xia language. His face and tone were filled with sorrow, which lessened Qin Mo's aversion to him. A temple ascetic who was dedicated to saving the world was more respectable than a cautious temple intelligence officer.

Promi entered White Sea City to gather information, but because Qin Mo's face was clearly different from that of the Rakshasa, and the Holy Maiden's attire was too unique, the two could only wait outside.

“Promi has been in the Rakshasa Kingdom for over a decade, persuading many Rakshasa people to become our temple's spies, providing us with a wealth of intelligence and clues. Many of those people are prestigious nobles. Promi has no ill intentions towards you, he just… doesn't want to bring danger to those people.” Heather told Qin Mo about Promi's concerns. She had been struggling with this for days, but finally decided to seek Qin Mo's understanding.

“Heather, I understand his actions. Someone who has lived in the orc territory for over a decade can’t be too cautious.” Qin Mo smiled at Heather, telling her not to worry. Since it involved the Temple’s intelligence network, she could simply avoid it.

"No matter what, I will bring you back. Just stay close to me!" Heather glanced at Qin Mo, then immediately looked away and said softly.

"Your Highness Heatherine... I'm very strong, okay!" Qin Mo was somewhat speechless.

"You are indeed very strong, but we may encounter many enemies and may fight for several days without rest. In short, don't leave my side."

Heatherine repeated her words to Qin Mo again. Having experienced various arduous battles, she believed that although Qin Mo was very strong, judging from his behavior over the past few days, he was a pleasure-seeking nobleman who must lack a tenacious will and an indomitable spirit.

It took Qin Mo a while to understand what Heatherine meant. She thought he was a novice who had the ability but had never seen anything like it. He wanted to refute her, but seeing the deep concern in Heatherine's eyes, he felt flattered and muttered something before walking away to the side.

"You'll see what I'm capable of sooner or later!"

Promi returned after a long time, and he looked very unwell.

“Almost everyone in Baihai City has been arrested, leaving only the elderly and weak who can’t walk. They don’t even spare ten-year-old children. Working in this weather will kill people.” Promi spoke calmly, but Qin Mo could hear the anger in his voice.

“Promi, don’t be too sad. The light of our temple has not yet reached this place. We are powerless to do anything for the time being. We must now complete our mission!” Unlike Promi, Saintess Heatherine had no sympathy for the plight of the Rakshasa.

“Heather, the Rakshasa were just like us a thousand years ago. They were only enslaved by the orcs. Compared to the believers of the temple, they need our care more!” Prome looked at Heather and argued without hesitation.

"Shouldn't we be discussing the mission now?" Qin Mo interrupted Promi. Sometimes he really couldn't understand these people from the Temple. They would argue endlessly over the slightest difference of opinion, no matter when or where they were.

“I’m sorry, I got a little emotional. During my years in the Rakshasa Kingdom, I truly felt the suffering of the Rakshasa people. They were enslaved, they were slaughtered, and I… was unable to redeem them.” Promi said weakly, no longer agitated.

“Promi, when do we enter that area? If we finish our mission as soon as possible, maybe we can… help them,” Heather sighed and said tactfully.

"We'll leave tonight, heading straight for the White Sea. That way we can avoid most of the orc tribes and try not to be discovered by them too early."

Promi then looked at Qin Mo and said, "Qin Mo, please stay here and wait for us. If we are not back in five days, you should immediately return to Riga Fortress along the same route and deliver our message to Elder Rhine."

"Why?" Qin Mo and Heather asked at the same time.

“In case something happens to Her Highness Heatherine and I, and someone needs to inform the Temple of the situation here, I will use this to send back the specific information.” Promi took out a small cage from his robe, inside which were a pair of white carrier pigeons.

"Promi, Qin Mo... need to stay with me. You stay here and wait for news from us!"

Heatherine gestured for Qin Mo to be quiet, then reached out to Prome to ask for the carrier pigeon. She actually preferred to complete the mission alone with Qin Mo.

"Hatherine, he shouldn't get involved in this. He's not a member of the Temple!"

“Promi, I don’t know why you keep opposing Qin Mo. You don’t need to worry about him knowing the secrets of the Temple at all. We can go back on our own without contacting your spies. What are you worried about?” Heather questioned Promi in Latin.

Prome kept telling Heather that Qin Mo was not a strong warrior and that he might cause damage to the Temple's intelligence network. However, Heather thought this argument was untenable. Qin Mo clearly had experience in wilderness survival, and with his own strength, he could retreat back to Riga Fortress without the help of any inside contacts.
