Chapter Sixty-Nine: Qin Mo's Hunting Plan

Chapter Sixty-Nine: Qin Mo's Hunting Plan

Qin Mo lay lazily in his comfortable sleeping bag, unwilling to get up. He knew without opening his eyes that the heavy snow outside was still falling. He had been staying in this deserted village for three days. He had originally planned to return to Maimai City before New Year's Eve, but now it seemed almost impossible.

The continuous heavy snow not only affected his journey but also inevitably hindered the advance of the orcish reinforcements. Marching in such wind and snow made it easy to get lost. Qin Mo, traveling alone, had no intention of launching a direct attack on the orcish camps or cities. His original intention was to seize opportunities to kill the orcish strongmen during their march.

He relit the long-extinguished stove, mechanically repeating the process of boiling water and cooking meat broth. Then he ladled a bowl of broth into a copper bowl, grabbed a bottle of strong liquor, and went to the carriage to retrieve yesterday's bowl and bottle. Sure enough, there was an exquisite wooden box under the bottle. Qin Mo chuckled silently, shook her head, and took out an identical wooden box from her bosom, exchanging it for Li Fengyan's "liquor money."

The two had reached an understanding: Danfengyan would take the bottle of wine every night, but she wouldn't drink the bowl of rich beef soup, even though Qin Mo would replace it with a hot one every day. And Qin Mo would receive a box of "wine money" every morning.

Sometimes it was dried fruit, sometimes it was precious ginseng and other "medicines", and sometimes it was the meat of wild animals that Qin Mo couldn't even tell what kind of beast it was. After eating it, it actually had the same effect as Nirvana Flame in strengthening the body, although it was very slight.

As for Danfengyan's identity, Qin Mo never thought of asking. No matter how little experience he had in the martial world, he knew that she was no ordinary person. The two met by chance and were not on the same path. After the storm, they went their separate ways and forgot each other in the martial world.

On the fifth day of our stay in the deserted village, the snow finally stopped, and the long-awaited sun finally shone on the horizon, radiating a faint warmth.

Qin Mo finished cooking the last pot of meat soup, served it in a copper bowl, and brought it to Dan Fengyan. Dan Fengyan was already waiting by the carriage; the snow around the carriage had been cleared. Even the reindeer that pulled the carriage in the stone house had been harnessed and were ready to depart.

"The carriage is nice... the reindeer are nice too... you're so clever." Qin Mo handed her the broth, the wine bottle, and the wooden box, and she returned the wooden box in return. Qin Mo smiled, took the boxes, and walked back to the cabin, carrying back a jar of strong liquor, weighing a full twenty jin (approximately 10 kg).

"Uh..." Qin Mo was slightly taken aback when she returned, because Danfengyan was elegantly drinking the bowl of beef soup. Her lips could not be seen moving through the veil, but the bowl of soup was quickly emptied.

"The broth is good..." The phoenix eyes lit up as she praised it.

"Hehe... Actually, I don't really like drinking, but this wine can keep you warm, and it also has some detoxifying effects when used to clean wounds." Qin Mo gently placed the wine jar on Li Fengyan's carriage, looked at Danfengyan who was obviously surprised, and said, "If we happen to meet again in Daxia in the future, remember to treat me to two jars of good wine! One jar is the capital, and the other is the interest."

Qin Mo felt the phoenix eyes staring at her for a full five minutes before she casually said, "It's better not to meet."

The reindeer pulled the carriage away quickly, and Qin Mo was still in a daze. "Damn it, I kindly offered you wine because I thought you were a drunkard, and you actually said 'it's better not to meet you.' Are you trying to back out?"

Even as Qin Mo set off on his sled, he remained brooding, muttering to himself, "Wearing a veil, I wonder if she's ugly." Then, as was his habit, he began to nitpick at the phoenix eyes. Having inherited all the elven genetic traits from this body, finding fault with the opposite sex was one of his special skills.

But... after a long while, Qin Mo realized that he had actually been finding fault with her phoenix eyes all along, he just hadn't pointed it out yet. Long legs, a slender waist, a swan-like neck, a curvaceous figure, and even her skin was a translucent, rosy white. These past few days, he had been so overwhelmed by her powerful aura that he hadn't had the mind to appreciate her uniqueness.

Qin Mo shuddered, nervously pulling out her binoculars and peering into the distance. The land stretched out in a vast expanse of white; there was no sign of the old carriage.

Ulan-Ude is located about 700-800 li (approximately 350-400 kilometers) directly north of Maimai City, bordering the North Sea to the west, and facing Irkutsk across the North Sea to the east and west. These two cities held a similar status and function within the orcish territory as Ulan City within the Great Xia Kingdom. The area was rich in water and grass, and had convenient transportation. Large numbers of orcish and Rakshasa tribes gathered here, then traveled along the Segeleng River to Maimai City, either to defend the city or to invade further south.

Qin Mo chose this place as her first hunting ground. According to the intelligence Huang Yue gave her, the orc army was steadily gathering in these two cities. She was patiently waiting for an opportunity; she would eventually find a chance to strike. If she couldn't wait for an opportunity, she would have to create one herself: ambush and kill the orc fodder on the outskirts, and then quietly wait for the orc powerhouses to come out and investigate.

In winter, the North Sea is frozen solid, allowing passage between Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude via the ice. Qin Mo's plan is to do bad things here, then run to the other side to continue, and then come back to continue harming the orcs. As long as he is diligent, he can always catch a big fish.

Qin Mo began his hunting expedition. Although Ulan-Ude was a city, its influence extended to a vast area. Large tribes were scattered across the expansive fields, with the city as their center.

In two days, Qin Mo swept through seven tribes, wiping out all the elite warriors. This was the bloodiest thing he had done since arriving in this world. As the slaughter continued, the "feminine" aura on Qin Mo gradually weakened, replaced by a powerful and iron-blooded aura.
