Chapter 314 The Butcher
The Baltic Sea is an inland sea with relatively small waves, so many warships were oar-powered sailing ships. These ships had a fast start-up speed, strong short-distance burst power, and a large crew, making close combat their primary means of warfare.
However, compared to carracks, oars-powered sailing ships have lower freeboards because they require oars, so attacking a carrack is like attacking a small town with low walls.
The captain of the Karak ship concentrated all the sailors on the port side, forming a dense formation with short swords and spears to resist the sporadic orc warriors that charged up.
The temple's ascetics held back the vast majority of the orc warriors, and the constant falling corpses drove the simple-minded orc warriors mad, as they charged forward relentlessly to seek revenge, significantly reducing the number of orcs attacking the Karak sailing ship.
Before the temple's cultivators boarded the orc warships, the captain didn't think his hundred or so men could stop the orc warriors. If the orc elite warriors were so weak, they wouldn't have become humanity's enemy for a thousand years.
The captain finally breathed a sigh of relief after the temple cultivators, their bodies radiating holy light, charged into the orcish horde and began to slaughter them. Had it been any later, a single attack from the orcs would have resulted in at least half of his men being killed or wounded.
The orc general's strength was comparable to that of a Yellow Realm expert, and together with a group of strong orc warriors, the four Knights Temple cultivators were unable to suppress him for a time. Helpless, Kelly finally entered the fray. With the violent melee priestess joining the battle, the situation finally began to turn in the Temple's favor.
"Qin Mo, aren't you coming down?" Xu Luo had cut down two orc warriors in a row, and seeing that Qin Mo was still standing there without moving, he couldn't help but feel anxious for him.
Qin Mo shook his head and turned to look at the starboard side. Two oared sailing ships had already turned and were approaching. The orc general on the bow was brandishing a large hammer and baring his teeth and claws.
With no sailors left to defend the starboard side of Karak, the orcs saw this as a golden opportunity.
The epic longbow "Dark Arrow" was quietly drawn, and a silent arrow flew away, instantly appearing before the orc general. He did not react at all, and his massive body fell to the ground.
After Qin Mo used two insidious arrows to take down the two orc generals, the orcs were clearly thrown into chaos. Although the orcs were brave, they were not fools. Soon, the two ships turned around again, preparing to escape.
"Heh! Trying to leave?"
Qin Mo unleashed a barrage of "dark arrows," snapping all four masts of the two oarsmen. Without wind power, the oarsmen immediately slowed down. Although the orc rowers frantically began paddling, they couldn't increase the speed at all.
The two oared sailboats were not far from the Karak. Qin Mo checked the distance, leaped up, and glided over like a large bird, landing accurately on the bow of the ship.
The orcs stared in horror at the human who had fallen from the sky, momentarily forgetting to attack.
Qin Mo did not immediately begin the slaughter. Instead, he walked over to the dead orc general and broke off a pair of his blue fangs.
Qin Mo's actions thoroughly enraged the orcs on the ship. Fangs were a symbol of orc warriors, and only orcs with fangs were qualified to be warriors. Breaking off fangs was the greatest insult to an orc.
"Aww... Aww..."
The orcs howled and began to swarm Qin Mo, but the angry roars only lasted for a few breaths.
Two dazzling blades of light swirled and danced, running from bow to stern, leaving behind a trail of severed limbs and heads, and a stench of blood that was nauseating.
Looking at the deck where no one was alive, and then at her clothes that weren't stained with a single drop of blood, Qin Mo nodded in satisfaction, her combat skills having improved once again.
"Hey, don't run away!"
Qin Mo wanted to go to another ship to retrieve her spoils, but unexpectedly, that ship had no intention of coming to her rescue at all. It turned around and sailed away long ago, already beyond the farthest distance Qin Mo could glide.
A white figure streaked across the night sky and landed on the oars-powered sailboat. Qin Mo felt as if she had only blinked a few times when the entire ship fell silent. Then she saw Saintess Heatherine float over.
"Your fangs!" Heatherine was also free of blood, but the orc general's fangs in her hand were stained with blood, and she stood directly in front of Qin Mo.
"Thank you!" Qin Mo took it casually, then asked, "How many times can a pair of orc general's tusks be exchanged for priority selection rights?"
Heatherine coldly replied, "A pair of fangs in exchange for a priority choice! You're lucky; this enemy fleet isn't an ordinary fleet, and not every ship has a powerful orc warrior."
Qin Mo nodded. The strongmen of the orc race were not common. The general was already a leader among those small orc tribes. Back then, when he went to the northern snowfield, he only killed one warlord and a few generals. He even encountered King Bernullis and was almost captured.
"What if I kill an orc king? What would I get in return?"
Qin Mo thought about it and decided to find out more. After all, he wasn't sure what the outcome of his fight to the death with the Beastman King would be. If the reward wasn't worth it, he'd better avoid it. It would be fine to gain some merit along the way, but it wasn't worth risking his life for the Holy Temple.
"The Orc King? Are you sure?" Saintess Heather asked, her eyes fixed intently on him.
"Just asking..." Qin Mo felt a little guilty. Could this crazy woman really be asking him to deal with the orc king?
"The Orc King's fangs can be exchanged for a designated choice or a count's domain."
