Chapter 262 Shia Has a Secret

Sailors coming and going on deck automatically avoided the small section of deck where Qin Mo and Xi Ya were, so as not to disturb the two of them. Qin Mo gently patted Xi Ya's back, and Xi Ya gradually stopped sobbing, her breathing became calm, and she fell asleep peacefully.

Qin Mo gently picked up Xia and carried her into her cabin. Xia felt warm in her specially made comfortable brown bed. She snuggled into the soft pillow and a sweet smile appeared on her lips.

Shia had a dream in which her loving and beautiful mother was combing her hair and nagging, "Shia, although the chances are slim, this is the only way to change your fate... You're too weak..."

“Mom, I don’t want to marry Tulsen. I feel disgusted just looking at him.”

The loving mother sighed, "I was just like you back then, which is why I chose your father, and that's how you came to be..."

"Waaaaah, Mom, I don't want to marry Talson, please, Mom..."

"Sigh! Perhaps it would be possible if you were as strong as me, but you are so weak... If you insist on not marrying Talson, then go! Go far away, just like I did back then..."

"Mom, don't send me away, don't send me away..."

Shia woke up suddenly, drenched in sweat, her chest heaving violently. The dream she had just had had caused her to experience intense emotional turmoil.

"Shia, are you alright?"

Qin Mo's voice came from outside the cabin door, full of concern.

"I'm fine, I...I want to sleep a little longer!"

Shia quickly replied, wondering whether she should let Qin Mo know her thoughts. It was her secret.

"Oh! The weather's cleared up. I was thinking of inviting you to have a barbecue together..."

Shia's mood immediately improved. "Qin Mo, wait for me, I'll be right there."

As the last rays of the setting sun sank into the sea, countless stars twinkled in the sky, and the raging sea breeze became incredibly gentle, caressing the charcoal fire beneath the grill. The flickering red light illuminated Shia's slightly pale face, giving it a delicate, radiant glow.

"Mmm, give me another skewer of spiced squid..."

Shia held a large handful of lamb skewers in each hand, her mouth stuffed full, her eyes fixed on the sizzling squid on the grill.

"Shia, there were only five dairy goats on the ship, and you ate a whole one this time. I just don't understand what kind of stomach you have, how did you digest it?"

"Why is a grown man so stingy? We'll give you ten back when we get to the port."

Little Shia now has a small box of jewels, and is incredibly wealthy. She's no longer the little maidservant in the royal palace counting copper coins when ordering food at restaurants; she's very extravagant now.

"I...I was just worried you'd be too stressed, weren't I?"

Qin Mo stopped talking and started grilling meat in silence. This barbecue was originally organized to reward Xia, so she had to do it wholeheartedly.

The meal delighted Shia, who patted her slightly protruding belly, closed her eyes comfortably, and let the sea breeze blow her golden hair.

The wind propelled the sailboat, swiftly cutting through the waves with a splashing sound. Two exquisitely carved deck chairs were placed side by side on the stern deck, with only a fist's distance between the two people, who could hear each other's breathing.

After a long silence, just as Qin Mo was about to get up and return to her cabin, Shia suddenly asked a seemingly irrelevant question.

"Qin Mo, do you know the story of the mermaid?" Want to chat about "Sailing and Conquest" with more like-minded people? Follow "Or" on WeChat to discuss your favorite books with other book lovers.
