Chapter 310 Empress Shia

Chapter 310 Empress Shia

Crete is a long, narrow island, located between Alexandria and Athens. Chania, in the northwest of the island, was once an important town during the heyday of the Sea Peoples. Even today, when the island is ruled by the Temple, remnants of the Sea Peoples' temples still remain.

Chania is beautiful, but the island is not wealthy. With the disappearance of the sea creatures, few outsiders come to Crete except for the local residents. People live a simple, peaceful and peaceful life.

Today is another beautiful day. The men got up early, took their small boats out of the harbor, and caught some fish to enrich their wives' meals.

"Waaah...waaah..."

A deep, resonant horn sounded from the other side of the sea, and the fishermen suddenly noticed a huge fleet that had appeared between the sea and the sky, rapidly heading towards the port of Candia.

"Kyle, raise the sails quickly, let's clear this channel." Although they were still far away, the strong man knew where the ship was just by hearing the distinctive horn sound.

"Father, is this the Temple's fleet? It's so big!" Kyle asked his father enviously as he deftly raised the single sail on the small boat.

“This is the Temple’s fleet, but Kyle, you don’t need to envy them.”

"Why, Father? Aren't we subjects of the Templars? Uncle Campbell bought the Barber family's farm because he became a squire of the Templars." Kyle was at the age where he loved to dream, and in his eyes, becoming a Templar Knight was the ultimate dream for any man.

“But your Uncle Campbell has a broken leg…and…”

The burly man didn't continue speaking. He really hoped that what he had seen a few days ago was an illusion—that there were actually signs of human activity in the nearly century-old dilapidated Poseidon Temple…and a beautiful woman at that.

"The appearance of the sea creatures in the world, I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse..." The man was middle-aged and used to a peaceful life. He was really afraid that Hania would be in turmoil again.

"Sophie, are you sure that mermaid girl is a Saint-level expert?" Temple Elder Ashif asked his subordinate, the Saint-level knight Sophie, with a solemn expression.

"Elder Ashif, that new king of the sea race... I can't see through her. I only tested her, and I was met with a fierce counterattack... I think she might be... stronger than me."

Sophie, the female knight in a golden knight's robe, looked ashamed. A few days ago, she was sent by Ashif to Alexandria to make contact with the envoys of the sea people and to probe their background so that the Temple Elders could formulate a strategy to deal with them. However, she was humiliated by the newly promoted leader of the sea people.

Ashif's expression turned very bad after hearing Sophie's words. With the arrival of spring, the north would face enormous pressure from the orcs, and then the sea creatures suddenly appeared in the rear. For the past few days, he had been racking his brains over how to resolve this unfavorable situation.

Although Hania’s port is dilapidated, the sea people once made it glorious a hundred years ago. This once important port was built to be very spacious, enough for the temple’s huge fleet to enter and dock.

“These sea creatures have gone too far. Our Grand Elder of the Council of Elders came to talk to them personally, but there wasn’t even anyone to receive him.”

Elder Charles, dressed in a golden priest's robe, looked at the deserted Hania Wharf, his mood tense, and powerful energy began to surge from his body.

“Charles, they’re here, over there. Since they’re not coming, we can go over there.” Facing the empty dock, Ashif remained remarkably calm. He stopped Charles and strode deeper into Hania.

To the southwest of Chania Port, there is a low cliff that plunges straight into the sea, with numerous reefs along the shore, making it impossible for ships to approach.

There is a stone building on the cliff, which was once the Temple of the Sea God. After a hundred years of wind and rain, the magnificent palace has been dilapidated and no one has maintained or repaired it.

Upon closer inspection, Sophie, Harris, and the others finally sensed something amiss. From the ruins of the Poseidon Temple, a plume of steam shot straight into the sky, connecting the sea below the palace with the clouds above.

"Is this... the legendary king-level talent of the sea race?" Charles, being a priest, was more sensitive to the power of the holy spirits in the world than a knight. He sensed the difference in that wisp of water vapor and felt a vague unease in his heart.

"Hopefully... it's just a king-level inheritance..." Elder Asif's eyes were calm, but he hesitated before uttering a somewhat uncertain sentence.

Ashif and his group of five followed the mist and entered the ruins. In the small square in front of the main hall, they saw the people they were meeting—three beautiful women.

"I've finally met someone I know, Your Excellency Ashif. You've grown old!"

Ashif looked at the beautiful woman opposite him and smiled: "Queen Debbie, it's been so many years since I've heard from you. It's really nice to see you!"

The beautiful Debbie shook her head and said, "I am no longer the queen. The current queen of our sea people is my daughter... Queen Shia."

Ashif's aged body suddenly swayed, something that had never happened since he took his seat as the Grand Elder of the Temple Council.

“Lady Debbie, I think you’ve misspoke. You must have misspoke…” Ashif regained his composure with strong willpower and said, word by word.

Debbie slowly shook her head and said solemnly, "Although you are old, your hearing is fine. Shia is our queen, not our empress."

Debbie's voice wasn't loud, but to the five bigwigs of the Temple, it was like a bolt from the blue.
