Chapter 20
Of course Zhou Li was unhappy.
The ending was what she wanted, but the process was not happy at all.
She was like a circus monkey and Chunshui was the whipper. When she racked her brains and couldn't sleep well, wanting to apologize to Chunshui, she just sat there quietly. If she hadn't bumped into her today, how long would Chunshui have kept it a secret from her?
There was a hint of grievance in Zhou Li's eyes.
Beneath her elite exterior lies a childlike personality.
Chunshui looked at her red eyes behind her gold-rimmed glasses, her bitten lower lip, and the grievance on her face. Her heart moved slightly. She raised her hand to take off Zhou Li's glasses and said in a gentle tone: "Why are you crying? Didn't I agree to act in this movie with you?"
Zhou Li felt even more aggrieved. This made her sound like a scumbag. She said in an impatient tone, "I did everything you said. What else are you dissatisfied with?"
She exhaled deeply, not wanting to embarrass herself in front of Chunshui, and said forcefully, "How dare I be dissatisfied? You are free to do whatever you want."
Zhou Li turned around and strode into the hospital. This time she walked first while Chunshui watched.
Chunshui looked at the mirror frame in her hand, then looked towards the hospital quietly. She lowered her head and a few smiles escaped her lips.
She actually began to care about Dr. Zhou's feelings.
Zhou Li returned to the office with a discouraged look on his face.
She leaned back in her chair, her long legs resting on the desk, the chair tilted up like she was playing on a seesaw, supported only by the two back legs. The chair was swaying as she looked up at the ceiling with a blank expression.
"Ahhh, I'm so annoyed!" Zhou Li put down her legs with a thud, and her hands frantically ruffled her hair. Her cheeks puffed up like buns, her mouth moved a little, and then she drooped her shoulders dejectedly.
Zhou Li said to himself: "As long as the goal is achieved, that's enough."
She consoled herself, "We weren't familiar with each other anyway."
I'm still feeling down.
Zhou Li sighed. There were two knocks on the door, and the nurse said, "Doctor Zhou, the patient in Ward 206 is about to be discharged. You issued the wrong discharge form."
Zhou Li patted his cheeks and went to work.
I stood up, smoothed my hair, and pushed my glasses up out of habit, only to then remember that someone seemed to have taken them away.
Zhou Li covered his face.
I was so excited earlier that Chunshui took off my glasses and I forgot to put them back.
The original owner's eyesight was not very high, and he wore glasses to hide his emotions.
She put on her coat and said, "I'll be right there."
Zhou Li opened the door. Chunshui just walked to the door and raised her hand as if she was going to knock on the door. The two met at the door. Zhou Li unconsciously took a step back. Feeling weak, she took another step forward.
Chunshui hugged her shawl with one hand and raised her hand: "Doctor Zhou, your glasses."
She held Zhou Li's glasses in her palm.
Zhou Li pursed her lips, reached out to take it, and found the lens was dirty. She took a look at it and put it in her pocket.
"Is Dr. Zhou in a better mood?" Chunshui observed Zhou Li.
She wasn't wearing glasses, so the emotions in her eyes were easier to discern. The corners of her eyes were still a little red, with a little blush, as if she had rubbed them.
It seems like he was bullied badly.
Chunshui's chest felt dry.
Zhou Li sighed, avoiding Chunshui's gaze, and looked behind her: "I still have work to do, do you have anything else to do?"
So cold.
Chunshui smiled and gave up his seat.
Zhou Li closed the door and walked away. Her unbuttoned white coat brushed against the hem of Chunshui's skirt. When Chunshui turned around, she had already disappeared around the corner of the corridor.
Chunshui tightened the shawl that had slipped down onto her shoulders. She held it down with her arms, with a faint smile on her face and deep eyes.
She seemed to like Dr. Zhou's current appearance a little.
Chunshui stood there thinking for a while, chuckled, and walked slowly towards his ward.
Zhou Li pursed her lips, her face serious. If it weren't for the blush at the corners of her eyes, no one would have been able to tell what she was feeling just now.
Zhou Li strode over to the nurse's station and knocked on the table: "Which discharge form was issued incorrectly?"
"Here." The nurse stood up and handed over the document.
Zhou Li took a look and found that she had made a small mistake when writing the medical record and filled in the wrong date. She tucked the document in the crook of her arm. The patient in Room 206 was injured while hanging on the wire on the crew. Her ribs were broken and her face was severely abraded. Her face had recovered, but her ribs still needed a few days to heal. However, this was a plastic surgery hospital, and after the facial treatment was completed, Zhou Li completed the discharge procedures for the actress and let her go home to recuperate.
Remembering that the actress was discharged from the hospital today, Zhou Li went to see her.
This actress was admitted to the hospital on the same day as Chunshui.
Zhou Li walked to room 206. The door was open, the ward was being cleaned up, and the actress and her agent were talking.
Actress: "I don't want to go back to the crew, let's terminate the contract for this drama."
The agent pleaded, "Auntie, do you know how many people want to do this movie? Besides, didn't the director say that you have to use a wheelchair to finish the rest of the scene? You've already filmed the front part, so it's not right not to film the back part, right?"
The actress angrily said, "You know how wicked she is! When filming with her, you get injured for no apparent reason. I managed to survive this time, but what about next time?"
The agent said: "It was just an accident."
"How could it be an accident? Before the wire was put on, I repeatedly confirmed with the props team that it was fine. I didn't expect it to go wrong, and it happened while she was on the set! She's just weird! That was not filming with her! It was like risking your life for a gentleman!"
"Bah! She's not a gentleman either! She's just a semen-sucking witch!"
"Use other people's red energy to support yourself!"
"Keep your voice down!" The agent almost gagged.
The actress complained a few more times, and Zhou Li vaguely heard that the person she was talking about was Lizhi.
Zhou Li frowned and knocked on the door, "Hello, is anyone there?"
The agent came out of the bathroom and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw it was Zhou Li.
"Dr. Zhou, huh? When did you arrive?"
"Just arrived." Zhou Li raised the document in his hand, "I made a mistake in issuing your discharge document. Come and get it, and visit her by the way."
The actress slowly emerged in an electric wheelchair, her face brimming with anger, having been unsettled by her agent's persuasion. Seeing Zhou Li, she forced a smile and said, "Doctor Zhou, is my face still okay? I still see some fine lines. Will they be visible on camera? Can you prescribe me some more medicine?"
Zhou Li smiled and said, "You don't need to take medicine. I can prescribe you some facial masks. They were independently developed by our hospital."
The actress readily agreed.
Zhou Li returned to the office, Chunshui had already left. She opened the door and paused for a moment, involuntarily looking at the place where Chunshui was standing in front of her.
Zhou Li came to his senses, shook his head, opened the door and went in.
After revising the discharge form, Zhou Li sent it to the nurse's station. The nurse confirmed that there was no problem and sent it to the ward.
After sending away another patient, everyone felt a lot more relaxed.
There are not many patients hospitalized in Zhou Li Hospital. Many celebrities only have minor adjustments and may leave after the procedure. Some who have major surgery can be discharged after a week. Although there are patients entering her hospital every day, there are also patients being discharged continuously.
Ward 206 was vacant and the cleaning staff was cleaning it. There were no patients for the time being, so everyone was free. Seeing that Zhou Li had not left, the two young nurses whispered gossip with Zhou Li.
"Doctor Zhou, are you aware of the recent rumors circulating in the entertainment industry about ghosts?"
This? Zhou Li didn't know. She leaned forward with interest, put her arm on the stage, and asked, "What is the ghost?"
The nurse leaned in closer and whispered, "They say there's this new artist who debuted in the past two or three years. She doesn't have any real talent, and she only became famous by raising ghosts and sucking other people's fame. As a result, many people get hurt just by coming into contact with her. Several people who've worked with her have already been hurt."
Zhou Li laughed. "How is that possible? Where did you hear that? If there were such a method, wouldn't the entertainment industry go crazy? There are so many people who want to be famous, how come she is the only one who is famous?"
The young nurse pouted and said, "There's a paranormal group in the entertainment industry online that's been doing some research. There's also rumors about celebrities who come to our hospital for cosmetic surgery. I think it's very likely true."
"Don't spread these things." Zhou Li stretched out his arm and patted the nurse who was speaking. "What are the duties and ethics of medical staff? Don't disclose patients' privacy."
The nurse made a zipper gesture to his mouth, and Zhou Li smiled and returned to the office.
Sitting in the office, Zhou Li tapped the table twice, frowned and thought, still worried, she turned on the computer and clicked on the inventory of the entertainment industry's supernatural groups that the nurse mentioned.
This forum group doesn't have many followers, but it's quite lively, especially under the inventory post.
Zhou Li clicked it, his brows furrowed tighter and tighter.
The review post uses Xiaomei as a substitute. From the recent Reuters movies to her debut works, basically different people are injured in each movie. Zhou Li's eyes stopped at the last review of the host:
The legendary movie star who won three Golden Horse Awards was replaced by the unknown Xiaomei. She disappeared after a car accident and reached the peak of her career as soon as she debuted.
Someone commented below: The peak was reached at debut, and it has been declining since then, right?
The original poster replied: It’s just that the debut and the red energy of the people are more nourishing.
Zhou Li's eyes fell on the three words "liberation person" and he felt very uncomfortable.
Offerings are for the dead, not the living. The OP seems to be saying that Chunshui is dead.
She scrolled down the page and suddenly a 404 error appeared.
Zhou Li was stunned for a moment and clicked refresh, directly exiting the previous post and even exiting the group. The entire group was locked by the administrator.
Zhou Li was not surprised. Popular stars all have their own publicity and promotion teams to control comments. When the online atmosphere is not good, the comments will disappear directly from the backstage. In the industry, this is called covering the mouth.
It seems that unplugging the network cable can stop people from talking.
Zhou Li leaned back in her chair, her mind still thinking about what she had seen online. She asked the system, "What do you think? Is there really such a thing as raising a ghost? And what about the heroine's car accident?"
System: "There are no ghosts or gods in this world. The heroine's car accident needs to be investigated."
Zhou Li thought about it.
Logically speaking, as the heroine of this world, Chunshui should be the darling of the world's will, so everything she does will go smoothly and she should not be treated like this. There is no such thing as a car accident in her life script.
But she had a car accident and her star path was basically cut off. If Zhou Li had not been sent by the quick-travel bureau to support the heroine, she might have remained invisible.
Zhou Li didn't want to bother with Chunshui at first, as she was still angry. But if Chunshui's car accident was related to Lizhi, she had to take care of it, because this was her mission. Her mission was to save Chunshui. What if Chunshui had an accident again during contact with Lizhi?
Zhou Li argued in his heart.
She is not doing this for Chunshui, she is just doing this for the mission!
