Chapter 23

Chapter 23

On the day they went to Spain, Zhou Li and Chunshui sat in first class. She was the only one in Chunshui's team who had this honor, especially after Chunshui said those words.

Zhou Li held his chin with his hands.

It felt weird. Was she tricked by Chunshui that day?

Zhou Li wanted to talk to the system, but then she thought it would definitely ignore her, so she gave up and lay down on the seat.

The first-class seats are all-inclusive, and everyone has private space. Zhou Li was relieved that Chun Shui could not be seen.

Recently, the pressure of getting along with Chunshui has been increasing, making Zhou Li want to complete the task quickly and return to the fast-paced game.

The last time she felt so stressed was because her performance was not up to standard, and her boss, who kept promising her big things, asked her to work harder.

The first-class seats were very comfortable and the flight attendants spoke softly.

After eating and drinking, Zhou Li slept all the way to Spain and smelled the unique salty and humid air in the coastal city.

The sea breeze gave her a boost of energy as she just got off the plane.

Because they did not take the same flight as the team, Chunshui and Zhou Li arrived first.

She communicated fluently with the airport staff. Zhou Li listened for a long time before he realized that she was speaking Spanish.

Zhou Li arrived in a strange place and was unfamiliar with everything, so he listened to Chunshui.

The two went to the baggage check-in area to pick up their luggage, and then walked out.

Chunshui pulled the suitcase with one hand and tapped a few times on his phone, then looked up and searched around, when suddenly a "Shui Shui" sounded.

Before Zhou Li could react, she saw Chunshui pulling the suitcase and walking to the left, and she hurried to follow.

The people who came to pick him up at the airport hugged Chunshui through the fence.

"Shui Shui, you are finally here!" Hua Yun was excited. She held Chun Shui's face, kissed her cheek, and gave her a big kiss on each side.

Chunshui wiped the lipstick marks off her face expressionlessly, her brows furrowed so tightly that they could kill a fly. Huayun smiled ingratiatingly and pulled up his shirt to wipe her hands.

Zhou Li stood behind Chunshui and looked at the woman who was wearing an orange floral dress, a straw hat, and a blue denim jacket. Hua Yun leaned forward and bared his white teeth at her.

"You are Chunshui's little lover, right? Come out quickly, the car is outside."

"Huh?" Zhou Li was confused.

She was speaking the language that she knew, but why couldn't she understand what she said?

Zhou Li grabbed the suitcase and wanted to ask more questions, but Chunshui grabbed his wrist.

"There are too many people here, let's talk about it after we get out."

The crowd was surging and Chunshui's hands were cold.

The coolness from her hand penetrated Zhou Li's wrist, making her shiver.

Zhou Li followed Chunshui out in a daze until they got in the car and heard Hua Yun say, "You can stay at my girlfriend's house. There's a film festival coming up soon and it's crowded. It's not as convenient as home."

Zhou Li didn't find a chance to ask. Hua Yun was a chatterbox and kept talking all the way. She and Chunshui had no chance to interrupt.

Hua Yun obviously looks like a bright and beautiful lady, the kind with cool and elegant European and American makeup, but her mouth is really worrying.

Zhou Li's face became dull as he listened, and he was so distracted that he forgot what he wanted to ask.

A single thought crossed her mind: Was she truly capable of hearing all this gossiping? Did she know so much? Would she be hounded by the gossipmongers?

Chunshui sat upright, with his head slightly tilted, looking at Zhou Li with a smile in his eyes, not at all attracted by the scenery on the roadside.

Hua Yun caught a glimpse of the smile on Chun Shui's face in the rearview mirror. She really wanted to take a picture of her friend, send it to her, and even write in huge font on her forehead, "You're done, you've fallen in love!"

When they arrived at the destination Hua Yun mentioned, Zhou Li stood at the door in a daze.

Is this vast seaside estate the home she's talking about? Zhou Li could imagine that Chunshui's friend must be someone extraordinary, but she thought a large flat that could accommodate four people would be a good place. But she didn't expect it to be this exaggerated.

The manor was too big, so Hua Yun drove in.

There is a private beach inside, a golden coastline, charming palm trees, layers of mountains, and white houses built on the mountains. It gives the feeling of a Hollywood blockbuster. When a beautiful mixed-race brown-haired girl Zhou Li walked out of the house, he was completely numb.

The young lady had tanned her skin, which was an even black. She was wearing a bikini with a colorful hollow sweater on the outside. The two of them exchanged a kiss naturally. It was not a polite kiss like Hua Yun kissing Chunshui's face, but a mouth-to-mouth kiss. The intensity of the kiss stunned Zhou Li. The discomfort in his body made Zhou Li feel like an old-fashioned and uncivilized ancient person.

Chunshui calmly stopped Zhou Li and asked, "Where are we staying?"

Hua Yun and her girlfriend naturally had no time to deal with them. The housekeeper came up from behind them and said, "Guests, follow me."

A maid took their luggage, and Zhou Li was led away by Chunshui in a daze.

As they went upstairs, Chunshui whispered, "You're doing very well. Don't follow their example."

What to learn? Kissing?

Zhou Li's head was completely confused.

What she saw and heard today dragged her into a bigger vortex before she could even react.

Their room was on the second floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing them to clearly see the long coastline.

The turquoise water seeped through the sand. In the distance, the sea and the sky merged, and in the near distance, there were mountains stacked one upon another. A silvery road led directly to the shore. Zhou Li's mood gradually calmed down. She was only curious about one thing: why did Chunshui's friends misunderstand her? Could it be that Chunshui had said something to her?

Zhou Li looked at the beautiful scenery with mixed feelings.

She put her things away and left the room. There was a maid waiting outside the door, speaking in a gibberish that Zhou Li couldn't understand. It should be the local dialect. Zhou Li knocked on Chunshui's door next door as if asking for help.

Chunshui opened the door, glanced at Zhou Li and the maid, replied, pulled Zhou Li in, and told her to sit anywhere she wanted while she was still packing.

Unlike Zhou Li who just threw the suitcase into the room casually, Chunshui put the clothes she brought neatly into the cloakroom. Zhou Li walked around curiously and found that the balconies of their two bedrooms were right next to each other and they could easily step over. She took a look and saw that Chunshui had packed up and asked her to go down with her.

Arriving in the coastal city, Chunshui relaxed a lot. She changed into a gray halter dress with thin straps on her shoulders and thin cross straps on the back, revealing large areas of fair skin on her chest and back. She wore a pair of Roman sandals on her feet, revealing her white and tender toes. She looked relaxed, bright, and fresh.

Zhou Li focused his eyes on her earrings. She wore tassel earrings that looked like flowing water.

She rarely wore jewelry in the hospital, so Zhou Li took a few more glances at her.

This outfit goes well with the style and is also suitable for Chun Shui.

Chunshui turned her head, and her hair, which was held up by a beige clip, fell obediently on her cheek in a few elegant strands. Her tall nose was like a mountain, and her thin lips opened slightly: "Do you like it?" Chunshui asked.

Before Zhou Li could react, Chunshui took off the earrings and put them next to Zhou Li's ears. After a while, she shook her head and said, "It doesn't suit you very well." She then asked in surprise, "You don't have pierced ears?"

Zhou Li was embarrassed for a moment, touched his earlobe, and nodded slightly.

She lowered her eyes. Her heartbeat inexplicably quickened due to Chunshui's proximity. She couldn't help but push the frame of her glasses and whispered, "I don't need it."

Chunshui looked at Zhou Li's knee-length shorts, white short-sleeved shirt, and a colorful shirt. She smiled and said, "You look good this way. It suits you well here."

This sentence sounds familiar.

Zhou Li frowned and followed Chunshui, wondering when she had heard it before.

In the spacious restaurant, Hua Yun waved to them enthusiastically: "Come on, my girlfriend has specially prepared a lot of local dishes, come and try them!"

Hua Yun's enthusiasm seemed endless. Her girlfriend stood beside her, looking at her with a doting smile on her face.

Sitting at the table, Zhou Li realized that Hua Yun was the director of Chunshui's film "Small Town Girl", which was nominated this time. She came here a month earlier to promote their film. Her girlfriend saw how hard she was working and bought a luxury house in the local area.

While Hua Yun was talking, his girlfriend kept reaching out to feed him.

The atmosphere between the two was warm, and it was obvious that they were a couple in love. They looked at each other occasionally, pink bubbles floated in the air, and the air was sweet.

Hua Yun's girlfriend doesn't talk much and doesn't communicate with them much. But Zhou Li heard Hua Yun naturally switch to Spanish when talking to her. Zhou Li guessed that she didn't understand Chinese.

Chunshui ate very quietly, occasionally responding once or twice, but most of the time it was Huayun who was talking.

It is said that she bribed so many reporters, gave money to so many magazines, and met with so many public relations people that she was bound to influence the judges of this year.

Zhou Li secretly clicked her tongue in amazement. She had thought that these awards were awarded by professional judges, but she had not expected that there were so many secrets involved. These awards were all real money.

After the meal, dessert was served and Chunshui went to touch up her makeup.

Hua Yun asked curiously, "How did you meet Chun Shui? She was so hard to pursue. I was pursuing her at the time, but she blocked me directly. When I met her, she didn't even give me any face. She almost rejected my film because of this, causing my filming plans to abort. I had to ask many people to intercede for her to accept my film, which led to the story we have today."

Zhou Li didn't know whether to complain about Hua Yun pursuing Chun Shui first, or to complain about her discussing her past in front of her current girlfriend.

She said awkwardly: "You misunderstood, the relationship between her and me is not what you said."

"What's the relationship? Don't you like her?" Hua Yun said casually.

Zhou Li could hardly hold the dessert spoon. What kind of misunderstanding was this?

She whispered, "I really don't like her."

Hua Yun was surprised: "You don't like her?"

"Yes, I don't like her."

After saying that, Zhou Li relaxed and her voice became louder. She leaned her shoulders back and felt an obstruction. She turned around and saw Chun Shui standing there with his hand on the back of her chair, expressionless.
