Chapter 29

Chapter 29

In the dressing room, Chunshui removed the funny makeup on her face.

Assistant Huang Xiaoyun handed her the phone. Chunshui turned it on and saw some messages. She replied slowly. Hua Yun sent especially many messages.

Hua Yun: How is it? Did you ask? What did Dr. Zhou say?

Chunshui: I asked, but Dr. Zhou didn’t answer me.

Hua Yun, as Chunshui's military advisor, comforted him: Don't be discouraged, don't be anxious, be patient.

Chunshui turned off the screen and put the phone on the dressing table. She had already alarmed the enemy before, so this time she would be patient and wait for Dr. Zhou to take the bait in a hunting posture.

At night, there are very few stars visible in the city.

Director Zhang took the entire crew out for a barbecue. He raised his glass and said, "Thank you all for coming to this show. I hope we can make a good one!"

Everyone raised their glasses together, and Zhou Li also drank a glass of cold beer, which was so refreshing that he exclaimed in praise.

Chunshui drank in a more delicate manner, raising her glass twice and only finishing half of her beer. Zhou Li looked at her glass and couldn't help laughing: "I remember that you can't drink that much."

Chunshui picked up a roasted vegetable and chewed it slowly. After she swallowed the food in her mouth, she said, "It's easy to get drunk if you drink too much." Moreover, she was eating and drinking with others outside, so she habitually remained vigilant so as not to get too drunk.

Zhou Li drank another glass and looked refreshed.

Chunshui advised: "Eat something. It's easy to get drunk if your stomach is empty."

Zhou Li listened to the advice and picked up a skewer, eating while looking at the table where she was sitting. The table was full of the core members of the crew, the director, screenwriter, and actors. She glanced around but didn't see any lychees.

Zhou Li asked, "Is there anyone missing?"

Chunshui asked back, "Who are you referring to?"

Zhou Li looked around and whispered in Chunshui's ear, "Lychee."

Chunshui smiled and said, "Maybe I forgot to inform her. She finished work early today."

"Oh." Zhou Li nodded. She had a feeling something was wrong. Director Zhang had told her this was the crew's first dinner together, supposedly to bond. Now everyone was in attendance, except for the other leading actress. Didn't that exclude Li Zhi? It seemed Director Zhang and Li Zhi's agent had a big fight today.

Zhou Li also overheard it on the set in the afternoon and said that because of the ranking issue, Lizhi wanted to be in first place, so Linghang Entertainment started arguing with Director Zhang.

Zhou Li felt that the entertainment industry was too complicated. A simple byline issue had caused such a big stir. She leaned close to Chunshui's ear and asked, "I saw news online that your global fan club has disbanded. How's that going?"

Chunshui's lips curled up into a gentle smile: "Doctor Zhou cares so much about me? He even knows about this."

Zhou Li scratched his cheek: "I saw it accidentally."

"That's really careless." Chunshui said.

Zhou Li sighed inwardly. How could she be so suppressed by Chunshui? She was originally a person with good words, but when she met Chunshui, she was like a hero with no place to use her skills.

"That's not a big deal," Chunshui said. "My fan club disbanded three years ago. It's just this news that just broke."

Zhou Li was puzzled: "Why do they want to disband?" Aren't celebrities supposed to have fans to support them? Otherwise, what's the point of entering this circle?

"I am an actor and I hope to let my works speak for me."

"I hope that if they really like me, when my movie comes out, they will buy a ticket to support me if they like it, and criticize me online if they don't, instead of just blindly praising me, helping me get so-called data, and arguing with others online."

"I have my life, and I want them to have theirs too."

Zhou Li was silent for a moment, then whispered, "You're right."

Chunshui suddenly asked, "What kind of life does Dr. Zhou want to live in the future?"

Zhou Li was stunned.

She had not expected that her future life would still be like this, worrying about the performance of quickly breaking through the game, completing this task, and then starting the next task. Her timeline would be much longer than Chunshui's.

Zhou Li covered it up and said, "I haven't thought about it. I just want to seize the day."

"Seize the day?" Chunshui smiled. "Doctor Zhou is very open-minded."

The two drank in silence.

After the barbecue party, Zhou Li couldn't drink much and was about five points drunk, but not completely drunk.

Director Zhang asked, "What's Doctor Zhou's response?"

"I'll take her there." Chunshui said.

"Take a taxi." Zhou Li said.

Director Zhang was relieved, "Then I'll arrange for someone else."

"I'll take you there." Chunshui said to Zhou Li. Zhou Li shook his head, "You've been drinking too."

Chunshui smiled: "I asked the assistant to wait for us, and there is a driver."

Zhou Li nodded and did not refuse.

The smell of alcohol rose on her face, her whole face turned pink, and her eyes were like water, which was extremely moving in the deep night.

Chunshui looked at her and did not move. People were coming and going around them, but only the two of them were still sitting there.

Zhou Li was a little drunk, and when the cool night breeze blew, he shivered and burped. Chunshui laughed and asked, "Shall we go?"

"Let's go." He said let's go, but he just didn't get up. Zhou Li was feeling lazy.

Chunshui extended his hand, "Do you need my help?"

Zhou Li looked up, his head felt even more dizzy. Chunshui's eyes were brighter than the stars in the sky. The corners of her mouth curled up slightly, her thin and sarcastic lips softened, and her open palms faced Zhou Li.

Zhou Li stretched out her hand, and Chunshui pulled her up with a little force.

When their palms touched, one was cold and the other was hot. When they let go, Zhou Li couldn't help but clench his fists, as if he wanted to hold on to the coolness.

"Xiao Huang is here, and the car is parked in the basement of the shopping mall in front."

It was difficult to park on the nearby streets as they were full of cars and it was difficult to drive in. The two of them said hello to Director Zhang, dispersed with the rest of the group, and walked through the narrow alley to the parking lot.

It was already very late. Zhou Li opened her cell phone and took a look. It was past twelve o'clock. There was only one street lamp emitting light in the alley. It was very dark nearby. She couldn't help but move closer to Chunshui.

As the two walked forward, suddenly a stone rolled and a cat ran by with a meow. Zhou Li was so scared that she jumped to Chunshui's side, grabbed her arm tightly, and walked forward close to her. The drunkenness was half gone.

Chunshui didn't expect Zhou Li to be so timid. She didn't choose such a small road on purpose to scare her. She was not familiar with this place, so the navigation chose the shortest distance.

Chunshui quickened his pace, and the two of them passed smoothly. Zhou Li breathed a sigh of relief.

Chunshui laughed and said, "It seems that Doctor Zhou is not suitable for watching horror movies."

Zhou Li said stubbornly: "I don't like watching it either."

"So what kind of movies does Doctor Zhou like to watch?" Chunshui joked, "I'll show you whatever kind of movies Doctor Zhou likes in the future."

Zhou Li sighed: "Then I will be out of character."

The two of them laughed, and the tense atmosphere disappeared.

Zhou Li let go of her hand and said, "Thank you."

Chunshui flexed his elbows and said with a smile, "I'm happy to serve Doctor Zhou."

Zhou Li glared at her, looked around and said, "Where's the car?"

It turns out that the entrance to the shopping mall is just across the alley. This side looks like it’s still under construction and the road is very empty.

Chunshui lowered his head and looked up, saying, "We just need to wait here. It will be faster for her to drive over."

"Okay." Zhou Li nodded.

There are many street lights here, much brighter than the alley just now. There is a lamp next to the two of them, and their shadows on the ground are in pairs. Zhou Li puts her hands in her pockets, Chunshui stands beside her, and the two wait for the bus.

Chunshui saw the shadows on the ground and found it amusing. She took a step forward and their shadows happened to overlap. She pursed her lips and smiled secretly.

This is what it feels like to like someone. Everything related to her makes you happy.

The car's headlights shone down on their feet. Zhou Li waved, and Huang Xiaoyun stepped on the accelerator and drove over. She opened the window and was very happy to see Zhou Li again: "Doctor Zhou, you're here too?"

Chunshui got in the car and said to Huang Xiaoyun, "Send Doctor Zhou first."

"good."

After the shock just now and having drunk some wine, Zhou Li was completely exhausted. She leaned against the car and looked out the window, feeling exhausted. But then she heard the system say in her head: "Host, Li Xia is preparing to attack the hostess."

Zhou Li sat up straight.

"Doctor Zhou?" Chunshui looked at her, and Zhou Li slowly relaxed her body again. "I just thought of something." She tilted her head away, leaned against the back seat, and asked with her eyes slightly closed, "When?"

System: "No specific details were given, but it was recently. Li Xia was very angry about what Director Zhang said to Li Zhi. After Li Zhi left, she found someone and said she wanted to teach the heroine a lesson."

Zhou Li frowned: "What else have you found out?" Knowing that the car accident was caused by Li Xia, Zhou Li transferred the system to Li Xia's side and asked it to monitor it around the clock, for fear that Li Xia would harm Chunshui again.

System: "We also found out that the incident with Li Zhi's co-stars was caused by Li Xia. She was worried that these people would grow up and become employees of other entertainment companies, affecting Li Zhi's development and thus her own position. So she asked her agent to sign a contract, and when the other party refused, she retaliated."

Zhou Li sighed inwardly, this was another extreme.

If you can't get it, you have to destroy it. Li Xia is so afraid of the future she sees, but she doesn't know that there are many timelines in the future. Everyone's current decision will determine their future. Li Xia is personally sending her to the future she sees.

"I understand." Zhou Li opened her eyes and Chunshui was looking at her.

"Not yet. Doctor Zhou, you can rest for a while. I see you didn't sleep well just now. Is that thing so difficult?" Chunshui asked.

Zhou Li was stunned, and then she remembered the excuse she had just made.

"It's a bit difficult." Zhou Li smiled, "But I have found a solution."

"That's good." Chunshui nodded.

"You should be careful on the set recently." Zhou Li couldn't help but remind him.

Although Chunshui was confused, he nodded.

Arriving at the hospital, Zhou Li got out of the car and watched Chunshui leave. She said to the system with a cold expression, "Report the newly discovered time loophole to the General Administration. If the General Administration doesn't ask for anything, I will use my own method to deal with it."

System received.

It would take some time for the news from the General Administration to arrive. Worried that Chunshui might get into trouble on the crew, Zhou Li put his affairs at the hospital aside and followed the crew every day.

Director Zhang has been very relaxed recently. News in the circle spreads very quickly. After hearing that he had quarreled with Linghang Entertainment, another investor who disliked Linghang Entertainment found Director Zhang and said that if Linghang withdrew its investment, they would take over in full and would not interfere with Director Zhang's filming and casting. The only condition was that they were a bit harsh, and they wanted to share the money from the theater after the movie was released in the future with Director Zhang.

According to Director Zhang's estimation, this art film will not make much money in the future. It will just be a loss-making business. He can relax on the profit, and it depends on how Pilot Entertainment reacts next.

Chunshui had just finished filming a movie, and the male actor who worked with her has been increasingly upset these days. He hit Tang Huai just as the director called cut, and then he bowed and apologized with a nervous look on his face, creating a huge contrast.

Chunshui waved his hand and prepared for the next game.

The filming schedule in China is very tight. We have to finish all the interior scenes within a month and then move to shooting abroad. The crew’s location has been coordinated, and the filming tasks have become increasingly heavy in the past few days.

Assistant Huang Xiaoyun handed over the water. Chunshui looked for someone in the room, but when she didn't see Zhou Li, she whispered, "Where's Doctor Zhou?"

Huang Xiaoyun was also surprised: "It was there just now."

Zhou Li has been on the crew these days, and Chunshui has gradually become accustomed to her presence. After filming, she would joke with Zhou Li to change her mood. She had been too depressed in the past few days, and although she was able to adjust herself, she still hadn't seen Zhou Li as happy as she did.

Chunshui sat on a stool to rest while the makeup artist touched up her makeup. Suddenly, Director Zhang came over with the script and said, "There are some problems with the next scene. I asked the screenwriter to change the script. Here is the new script. Take a look."

Chunshui opened his eyes and took it, frowning slightly: "Changed? Is time a bit tight?"

Director Zhang apologized, "I'll call the others over so we can work on the scene together."

"Where are Lizhi and Mao Xin? Someone go and call them to come over and follow the scenes!" Director Zhang shouted. Someone went to find the other two actors. The four of them sat together, and Director Zhang said, "Begin!" They went over the script just like a formal performance.

Director Zhang reads the voiceover: "Tang Huai's husband came home and found a pair of pearl earrings in Tang Huai's hand. Without saying a word, he snatched them away. Tang Huai was unwilling to give them and had an argument with her husband."

Chunshui: "This pair of earrings belongs to the guest!"

Mao Xin: "What kind of guest is wearing something like this? Could it be the dowry you hid? When you married me, you had nothing. This must be what you hid!"

Director Zhang continued reading the voiceover: "The husband beat Tang Huai, and Tang Huai felt very guilty when she saw Fu Le again."

Chunshui: "You treated me to food and gave me clothes to wear, but I couldn't keep your earrings. He must have pawned them!"

Lizhi: "These are all trivial matters. Look at your wounds. Tang Huai, do you want a divorce?"

Chunshui: "How can we get a divorce? There's no such thing in our country!"

Lizhi: "You followed me, and you still have to respect those stupid etiquette and laws? This is not the Republic of China! Tang Huai, you are knowledgeable and cultured, you don't deserve to be tortured like this!"

Zhou Li came back and stood aside, watching them perform the play.

Chunshui's lines were very full. Although she didn't use her full strength in the performance, she only put in a little effort to overwhelm the other two actors. Especially when she was acting opposite Lizhi, Lizhi's role of Fule was Tang Huai's guide. Compared with Chunshui's acting skills, her acting was too thin. She was called over by Director Zhang for correction more than once, and Lizhi was under a lot of pressure.

Director Zhang danced with joy: "Fu Le and Tang Huai, please pay attention to your positions. This is Tang Huai's awakening moment. Fu Le, you need to be more resolute in your tone. Also, you only feel pity for Tang Huai right now, you're not in love with her. Your eyes are full of love."

Chunshui looked slightly to the side and saw Zhou Li, then smiled at her.

Zhou Li thought Chunshui was just following her lead and wouldn't notice her. She raised her finger and pointed at the ice pack in her hand, implying that she had gone out to buy it. When Zhou Li came back, she heard Huang Xiaoyun say that Chunshui was looking for her.

Chunshui nodded, and Director Zhang finally dismissed them. He gave them each half an hour to memorize the lines before starting filming.

In Chunshui's last scene, when acting opposite a male actor, the actor was so immersed in the role and emotional that he pushed Chunshui, causing Chunshui's legs to hit the stool. Zhou Li watched helplessly and couldn't bear it anymore so she went out to buy ice packs and freezing spray.

Chunshui sat on the stool, and Zhou Li pulled up her trouser legs to help her.

As expected, her legs were covered with bruises. Her skin was white, and it looked scary. Zhou Li knew that it was probably just a bruise, but she still felt a little uneasy.

Chunshui watched Zhou Li with a smile as he treated her. Zhou Li's fair face was full of seriousness, his brows couldn't help but furrowed, and he looked distressed, which made Chunshui very happy.

Dr. Zhou feels sorry for her.

"It seems like Doctor Zhou only serves me on the crew." Chunshui couldn't help laughing.

Zhou Li sighed: "I would rather none of you get hurt."

"Including me?" Chunshui asked.

Zhou Li hesitated for a moment before saying, "Including."

"Doctor Zhou's answers are always so reluctant." Chunshui sighed, "Am I forcing you again? I thought I gave Doctor Zhou enough time to consider."

Zhou Li paused for a moment as she pressed Chunshui's legs, then continued. She looked down at Chunshui's legs, her heart aching again, and whispered, "You guessed it, didn't you?"

Chunshui was slightly stunned, his eyes shining: "Dr. Zhou's answer is what I thought?"

Zhou Li's cheeks flushed slightly: "Yes, I did have a crush on you." Feeling Chunshui approaching, she pressed Chunshui's wound. Chunshui hissed, apparently still feeling the pain. Zhou Li smiled secretly, and she raised her face and said seriously: "But it's not to the point of liking you."

Chunshui couldn't suppress the smile on his face: "What will it take for Doctor Zhou to like me?"

"Do your job first." Zhou Li patted her leg. "How is it? Does it still hurt?"

"Doctor Zhou handled it very well." Chunshui praised.

Zhou Li saw Chunshui moving her stool to get closer, so she stood up and said, "Didn't Director Zhang say he'd give you half an hour to memorize your lines? You should get down to work first."

Chunshui grabbed her sleeve and asked, "Will Dr. Zhou be here while I'm working?"

"I will." Zhou Li patted her hand, and Chunshui let go.

"Then you have to wait for me, Doctor Zhou."

Zhou Li waved his hand, walked out and stood with Huang Xiaoyun.

Huang Xiaoyun was holding her mobile phone and arranging a schedule for Chunshui. Although Chunshui was filming, he still had some work and schedules to arrange. Fang Yan had not found a suitable agent yet, so he asked Huang Xiaoyun to take on the role temporarily. Huang Xiaoyun also cherished this job opportunity.

Zhou Li was basking in the sun, feeling lazy. Talking with Chunshui felt like soaking in a hot spring, making her feel relaxed and at ease. As they were both working on their own things, Zhou Li heard the director yell "Cut," meaning the scene was finished. Suddenly, the system prompted, "Li Xia's people are taking action! There's a problem with the crew's lights!"

Zhou Li rushed in instantly!

Huang Xiaoyun looked up inexplicably and heard the panic coming from the crew.

"The headlight fell off!"

"Is anyone hurt?"

"How's everyone?"

Huang Xiaoyun stood outside the studio in horror, and the room was pitch black.

The crew's interior scenes were built in a rented studio. Now the headlight has fallen off, the circuit is short-circuited, and all the lights are black.

Huang Xiaoyun was at a loss. She grabbed someone and asked, "Have you seen Chunshui?"

The man yelled, "No!" and quickly ran forward to help! Rescue equipment!

"Don't worry about the machine first! Where are the people? I hope they are okay!" Director Zhang was helped up. The headlights had just fallen down, and sparks and lightning were whipping towards him like a whip. Director Zhang was shocked and his body was still twitching.

There was no answer and the scene was in chaos.

"Everyone stop!" Director Zhang found the loudspeaker underground, turned it on and shouted, "Don't move! Get out! Is Lao Li from the props team here?"

"exist!"

"Go see if the circuit breaker is tripped! Turn on the lights first! Everyone else, get out! Don't get electrocuted!"

"Where's the assistant director? Get someone to count the headcount! See if anyone is injured!"

“Yes, yes, yes!”

Someone responded one after another, and everyone supported each other as they walked out of the theater. When they saw the sun, they finally calmed down and felt relieved that they had survived the disaster.

The assistant director took the sign-in sheet and counted the staff and actors. After finishing the count, he was shocked to find that two people were missing: actor Chunshui and doctor Zhou Li!

He quickly went to find the director with the list. The director was waiting for a call from the studio and was surprised when he received the list!

Director Zhang tried his best to remain calm: "Nothing will happen!" If anything happens, his movie will be over!

"The phone is ringing!"

The studio's backup lights were on, but the brightness wasn't high enough, so Director Zhang and several others used flashlights to look for someone.

"Did you see anyone?"

"Did you see anything over there?"

The studio was huge, and even after the call came in, the broken wires were still sparking.

Director Zhang's heart gradually turned cold. He called out, "Chun Shui? Zhou Li? Are you there?"

A weak voice came: "Yes."

Director Zhang recognized Chunshui's voice and said, "Quiet, everyone, I heard something."

"Where are you?!"

"Here, ahem, here."

Tears rolled down Chunshui's eyes. "I'm here, save Dr. Zhou."

The flashlight shone over, and Chunshui's face was covered with dust. Zhou Li was lying on Chunshui, with a particularly thick chain on her shoulder, and she was unconscious.

Chunshui didn't dare to move. The director just called cut and everyone around had left. Chunshui had been standing for a long time and her legs were sore. She took a break, but unexpectedly the headlights above her head suddenly fell down. The dazzling light dazzled her eyes. At that moment, Chunshui's legs were powerless. She seemed to be back to three years ago, when she was also so powerless.

"Be careful!" Zhou Li suddenly rushed out, not caring about anything else, and rushed forward, wrapped Chunshui's head and jumped forward, but his shoulder was still hit by the chain of the headlight, and he rolled twice with Chunshui. The violent vibration and strong electricity made the two of them faint before they could react.

There was a fallen electric wire hanging on Zhou Li's leg. People around him didn't dare to go up easily. Finally, the firefighters arrived and carried Zhou Li and Chunshui out in insulating suits. Chunshui was only slightly injured. The blood on Zhou Li's shoulder seeped through his shirt. Chunshui sat in the ambulance with a look of despair on his face.

Dr. Zhou had just told her that he was heartbroken, how could this happen?

Huang Xiaoyun called Fang Yan with trembling hands: "Something happened on the crew! I'm going to the hospital with the boss! Come quickly!"

She jumped into the ambulance and followed Chunshui.

Zhou Li was breathing weakly in the car. She opened her eyes and looked at Chunshui, moving her fingers slightly. Chunshui sat there blankly. The pain in Zhou Li's body had been blocked by the system, but she still couldn't use her strength. Her mission was not completed yet, so she would not die.

The oxygen mask on her face prevented Zhou Li from speaking. She wanted to tell Chunshui that it was not her fault.

It was she who made Li Xia smaller. According to the past, it should have been a minor fight, but she didn't expect that she really wanted to kill Chunshui.

Zhou Li's vision went dark, and she ultimately passed out before she could finish the words. Although her sense of pain was blocked, her body's functions still prevented her from waking up.

When Zhou Li opened his eyes again, he felt as if he was in another world.

A white room with white walls. Zhou Li raised his hand. He was wearing a hospital gown and the air was filled with the familiar smell of disinfectant.

There seemed to be no one in the room. Zhou Li closed his eyes and called out, "System, what time is it now?"

The system's inorganic voice sounded: "Host, it has been three days since you fell into a coma."

So long? Zhou Li frowned unconsciously.

"Is Chunshui okay?"

"The hostess is fine."

"How was the scene?"

"It has been taken care of by the police."

Zhou Li breathed a sigh of relief. She relaxed and felt pain in her shoulder.

"Didn't you block my sense of pain?"

System: "During the rescue process, your body temporarily lost vital signs due to blocking pain perception. In order for the host to continue the mission, I released it."

Zhou Li forgot about this.

She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, feeling extremely bored.

Just as I was daydreaming, the door opened.

The person who came was very quiet, and Zhou Li thought it was a nurse until she felt the hot towel on her feet and someone was helping her wipe her body. Zhou Li moved her head and saw Chunshui.

She brought a basin of hot water, tied her hair into a low ponytail and let it hang over her left shoulder, and applied a hot towel to Zhou Li's feet. The doctor said this would speed up Zhou Li's blood circulation. Chunshui remembered that Zhou Li's body temperature was very high, but her feet were very cold when she touched them. She looked gloomy.

Zhou Li opened his mouth: "Spring, spring water."

He hadn't spoken for three days and stuttered when he opened his mouth.

Chunshui ignored her.

Zhou Li:?

She called out again: "Chun Shui."

Chunshui vaguely heard Zhou Li's voice and thought she was hallucinating again. These days she always dreamed that Zhou Li was calling her, but when she woke up, Zhou Li was still asleep. She looked up and saw a pair of light brown eyes looking at her.

Chunshui was stunned for a moment and the towel in his hand fell.

Zhou Li finally woke up.

Tears fell from her eyes, and she rushed towards Zhou Li, hugged her neck and sobbed, "You scared me to death!"

Li Xia: Go to hell!
