Attending a banquet
Early in the morning, Su Yunwei was awakened by the deafening knocking on the door.
Su Yun lay sideways on the bed and said impatiently, "Who is it?" After saying that, he covered his head with the soft quilt again and ignored the sound outside the courtyard door.
But the person knocking on the door seemed determined to wake Su Yunwei up, and kept knocking on the door. She could vaguely hear the person shouting even when she was buried in the quilt. In the end, she could only reluctantly throw back the quilt and get out of bed.
During her years as a doctor, Su Yunwei had spent her life sleeping. In the hospital, except for night shifts, when she was on duty, she would always argue with anyone who woke her up, whether in the dormitory or at home.
Su Yunwei was filled with resentment. He quickly walked out of the room to the yard and suddenly opened the door from the inside. When he saw that it was Fu Mingyue, he was furious.
"Excuse me, Miss Fu Mingyue? Is there something urgent that you need? Why do you have to wake me up when I'm sleeping so comfortably?"
Fu Mingyue withdrew her hand that was suspended in mid-air behind her back and chuckled a few times embarrassedly.
"What a joke! If you have something to say, just say it." Su Yunwei leaned against the door frame, and her whole body showed that she disliked people.
Fu Mingyue took out something that looked like a greeting card from her pocket and handed it to Su Yunwei.
There were clusters of flowers on the card, which seemed to be shining with golden light. Su Yunwei took the card, hesitated for a moment, and then opened it.
The first line she saw was Doctor Su. Before Su Yunwei could finish reading, Fu Mingyue had already revealed the contents, frowning: "The Grand Princess's residence sent someone over early this morning, specifically inviting you, me, and mother to a luncheon at her residence."
The sudden arrival of the invitation dispelled most of the sleepiness I felt. The eldest princess? Invite her? Inviting Mingyue and her stepmother was understandable. But why invite such an unknown person like her?
"Why did she invite me?" I just spoke ill of the Grand Princess to Fu Mingyue last night, and I received her invitation early this morning. Could she be here to call me to task?
Hongmen Banquet?
Fu Mingyue still frowned. "Why else? It must be that Li Hao went back and told the man who had the final say that you had talked about his son abandoning his mother for his wife. He wants to talk to you about it."
"Then... do we have to go?" Su Yunwei looked at Fu Mingyue expectantly. Their family seemed to be quite powerful, so there shouldn't be any problem in rejecting the invitation of a Grand Princess.
Fu Mingyue shook her head in embarrassment. She said, "If it were anyone else, Mother would have refused, but this is the Grand Princess, the Holy Lord's biological sister. If I don't go, my brother and father will have a hard time in the court."
Although the relationship between the Grand Princess and the Holy Lord is not good, they are still of royal blood after all. If they do not withdraw the invitation, who knows what huge waves will arise.
Fu Mingyue had originally planned to go out with Kuang Ye, but now it seemed she could only send a message to cancel the plan.
"It's okay, Weiwei." Fu Mingyue comforted the frightened Su Yunwei and said, "Mother and I will always be by your side. No matter what that person says, just treat it as cat piss and dog shit in the wind."
What Su Yunwei fears most is dealing with conflicts between doctors and patients, especially those from ancient times.
It's really killing me.
At noon, the three of them rode in a carriage to the Grand Princess's Mansion. The mansion was tall and majestic, with stone lions standing majestically, all of which demonstrated the owner's dignity and power.
After Su Yunwei got off the carriage, she stood in front of the mansion gate, looking up at the towering plaque. She didn't know what was pressing on her heart, and she felt a little breathless.
"Weiwei, what's wrong?" Fu Mingyue followed the servant who came to invite people and walked forward a few steps. She subconsciously looked back and found Su Yunwei standing there, staring at the door in a daze. She hurriedly walked to her side and pushed it.
Su Yunwei came back to her senses and saw that it was Fu Mingyue: "...Nothing."
Fu Mingyue felt that she was a little strange, but couldn't put her finger on what it was, so she could only call her to go with her.
Led by servants, they passed through numerous corridors and arrived at a place with the words "Wenhua Pavilion" inscribed on it.
It's autumn now, and there are still so many colorful flowers and plants here. Su Yunwei saw them and felt that this place was full of the smell of money.
They are all rich people.
When she buys a house here, she will decorate it with all sorts of colors.
In the main seat of the flower hall sat a woman in gorgeous attire. She was well-maintained, looking no more than forty years old. Her features were striking, yet she exuded a commanding presence. Her glances carried the discerning, proud air of a royal family. Su Yunwei observed her furtively, realizing this person must be the Grand Princess.
He looks so difficult to get along with!
Li Hao's wife is really sad...
Below her sat a girl of elegant temperament, dressed in an apricot pink dress. Her every move exuded nobility.
When Du Yinyin saw that it was her, her originally uneasy heart suddenly fell into deep thought. It was her... She actually had such a good relationship with the Grand Princess?
The Grand Princess didn't stand up when she saw them coming. She just lazily raised her eyelids and said coldly, "Sit down." Then, her cold eyes swept over Su Yunwei, like a venomous snake that hadn't eaten for a long time, spitting out vicious tongues.
Su Yunwei followed behind Fu Mingyue and the others, and greeted them as they did. When she saw them about to sit down, she sat down as well. But at that moment, she seemed to feel a biting chill and shivered unconsciously.
The eldest princess was more friendly to Fu Mingyue and Du Yinyin. She chatted with them about family matters and asked about the situation of the elders of the Fu family and Du Yinyin's family. Then, a maid came with tea and accidentally wet Du Yinyin's clothes on her chest.
"This servant deserves death, this servant deserves death, please punish me." The maid who served tea knelt down hurriedly, her tone sincere, without a single flaw. Du Yinyin already knew what was going on before she came, and had already asked her mother-in-law how to respond to the eldest princess's angry questioning, but now...
Is this really a surprise?
"Mrs. Fu, you'd better change your clothes quickly. It's so embarrassing to be so wet." The eldest princess said in a cold voice, as if she was extremely disgusted.
Du Yinyin didn't want Fu Li's reputation to be affected by such a small matter. The Grand Princess loved to exaggerate things. If she didn't change today, she didn't know what kind of story she would spread.
Fu Mingyue saw Du Yinyin being taken to the side hall by the maid to change clothes, and she didn't have any thoughts. It was just that the eldest princess didn't punish the maid who caused the trouble. Could it be that this person... would become less irritable as she got older?
A sleight of hand?
Shaking her head, Fu Mingyue said that the candied fruits on the table were still delicious.
But Su Yunwei looked at the direction where Du Yinyin left and vaguely felt that something was wrong. In those novels where such scenes were written, the sequel always involved catching a couple in adultery!
She was about to speak up to remind Fu Mingyue when she heard the eldest princess at the top say, "I heard Mingyue's zither skills are very impressive. I have just acquired a guqin with beautiful music. I hope Mingyue will do me the honor of coming and watching it."
Fu Mingyue was confused when she heard this. Playing the piano?
It’s almost like fluffing cotton!
She was about to refuse, but she saw several strong maids around her who forcibly lifted her up. Fu Mingyue did not move the maids at all until Su Yunwei could no longer see her.
The door of Wenhua Pavilion was closed. Suddenly, only Su Yunwei, the Grand Princess, and the elegant woman were left, with several sturdy maids standing behind her.
For a moment, a depressing atmosphere prevailed in this small space.
The eldest princess's fake smile disappeared instantly. She sneered and stared at Su Yunwei closely. "Are you the Su Yunwei who instigated my son to never see me again?" She looked Su Yunwei up and down. "You seem to have a lot of insights into my Li family's affairs, don't you?"
Su Yunwei had never experienced such a scene before, and she was extremely panicked. She forced herself to calm down and said with a stiff upper lip: "Your Highness the Princess has misunderstood, I did not..."
"Shut up!" the Grand Princess interrupted her harshly. "Where did this country woman come from? You have no sense of etiquette, no sense of hierarchy, and yet you dare to discuss my family affairs? Today I will teach you what you should and shouldn't say!"
As soon as the words fell, the strong women immediately moved closer to Su Yunwei.
His face was hideous and there was no escape.
Su Yunwei hurriedly stood up and quickly retreated, thinking of a countermeasure quickly in his mind.
"Your Highness, are you planning to abuse private punishment?" Su Yunwei asked absentmindedly, looking cautiously at the two maids who were about to catch her.
"Private punishment? This princess is teaching a girl who is ignorant of the immensity of heaven and earth a lesson, who dares to say anything?" The eldest princess sneered. In the capital, she is the law!
A maid suddenly rushed forward and tried to grab Su Yunwei's arm. Su Yunwei dodged her fat short arm by turning sideways. Another maid attacked from the side. Su Yunwei dodged several times with her flexible body and even threw a vase on the side of the hall over. The two maids were not even touched by any fragments.
Finally, the two old women caught Su Yunwei who was fleeing everywhere. Her arm was tightly grasped, like a towel that was about to be twisted off. Su Yunwei broke out in cold sweat due to the pain.
Su Yunwei wanted to scream, but the old woman was quick-witted and stuffed a smelly cloth ball into her mouth. Then her mouth was wrapped with circles of cloth, tightened, and tied up.
No one in the world of the living has ever dared to fight me. Those who have fought me have all gone to see the King of Hell. The eldest princess sneered at her expression, and at this moment, she finally let out the anger she had been holding in her heart.
Comfortable!
Su Yunwei looked at the silent woman below her and wanted to beg her to save her, but when she spoke, she could only utter unclear mumblings.
"You've tied yourself up in knots, so you deserve to suffer." The woman looked at Su Yunwei lazily, and her eyes contained the same arrogance as the eldest princess.
It’s over. Is it really necessary to endure this disaster today? Su Yunwei saw that the last straw of life was gone, and fear and powerlessness swept over his whole body.
Sudden······
"Bang." With a loud noise, the heavy wooden door of Wenhua Pavilion was kicked open from the outside.
