Chapter 014 Shadow of the Movie King (14)
Just at this time, dark clouds blocked the sunlight, and the summer rain came without any warning. Between lightning and thunder, it took only a few minutes before the heavy rain came down. People on the ground had no time to react and were soaked thoroughly in an instant.
The filming was stopped and everyone was busy looking for a place to shelter from the rain. Tao Xing walked through the messy crowd. The heavy rain was blurry and the black shadow disappeared in the blink of an eye.
He stood in the middle of the set and turned around a few times before he found it again.
Under the small awning, the director and Jiang Lin were standing with the camera behind them.
The wind and rain hit, and the awning tripod was creaking. In order to facilitate the movement of the camera, the bracket was not welded firmly, so it swayed in the wind.
In the rain, a black shadow entangled the director's feet, coiled around the tall camera stand, and slowly rose to the height of a person. Suddenly, a crack opened and attacked the director's head.
Tao Xing's face changed and he took a step forward: "What are you doing!"
A roar startled the two people under the shed. Before they could react, they suddenly heard a "click". The bracket tilted, and the camera slid down and was about to fall. The direction in which it fell was right towards Jiang Lin's head.
The director's exclamation was heard in his ears. Jiang Lin just raised his head and had no time to react. He could only close his eyes reflexively.
The expected pain did not come. Instead, he heard a "ding dong" sound, like glass breaking. Actor Jiang opened his eyes and saw Tao Xing rushing in front of him, grabbing the stent.
With his support, the bracket was returned to its original position and the camera was held up by him.
The director gasped heavily, and Jiang Lin also breathed a sigh of relief. Only then did he realize that his hands and feet were cold and sweat was oozing from his forehead.
A small broken lamp fell to the ground beside the stand, the outer shell shattered into pieces, and the core inside fell into the mud and water.
The two people under the awning were grateful for surviving the disaster. They looked at Tao Xing with gratitude and surprise, but no one noticed that under Tao Xing's palm, which was holding the bracket, there was a dark shadow that was retreating timidly, sliding down from the bracket and shrinking into the grass beside it.
All they saw was that Tao Xing had a stern look on his face, totally unlike his usual cheerful self.
As for the loud yell just now, they didn't hear clearly what was yelled. Thinking about it, it should be something like telling everyone to be careful.
"Xiao Tao, thanks to you." The director patted him, "If it weren't for you, I don't dare to think about the consequences." He learned his lesson and said loudly to everyone, "It's dangerous to be outdoors in heavy rain, let's all go back."
"Yes, yes, yes, let's go. It's better to get wet in the rain than to wait here all the time."
Everyone packed up and moved the important equipment: "Let's go."
People left one after another, and the number of people on the set became smaller and smaller. The director turned around and called out, "Teacher Jiang, Xiao Tao, why aren't you leaving?"
The assistant ran over and put the coat on Jiang Lin's head: "Teacher, let's go."
Jiang Lin thought for a moment and said to Tao Xing, "Thank you for what you did just now. Shall we go together?"
"You go first." Tao Xing's expression was still not good, and she didn't even look at him when she answered.
Jiang Lin was surprised: "Okay, that lamp... you broke it when you saved me, I am responsible, send the link to Xiao Wang later, and I will compensate you."
"No."
Jiang Lin was stunned again. The small lamp looked inconspicuous on the surface, but he could see that it was worth a lot of money.
This amount of money is nothing for an award-winning actor, but it is quite a lot for a newcomer from an ordinary family. Jiang Lin's eyes flashed with some doubt, but he said nothing more and left with his assistant.
Almost everyone had left, with only Xiao Yang left. He happened to have an umbrella with him, so he ran over with it in his hand: "Brother Tao, hurry up."
"You go first too." Tao Xing said.
"Then I'll leave the umbrella to you?"
"Thank you, no thanks."
The tone was solemn and unquestionable. Xiao Yang didn't dare to say anything for a moment and walked away in confusion.
Another gust of wind blew, and the small awning above his head was moved several meters, and raindrops as big as beans immediately hit Tao Xing's face.
He did not go under the shed to avoid the rain. He stood there for a moment, raised his hand to wipe the water off his face, glanced at the bushes, and then turned and walked away, calling the system as he walked: "Start the program, I want to leave this world."
080 was startled: "What, host, are you going to give up this mission?"
"Yes, I quit."
"Why are you quitting now? You won't get paid if you leave now. Besides, the mission is progressing. I finally got along well with Shadow..."
"I don't want any money, I'm leaving."
"This... Host, even if you don't want to do the mission, you just became a rich young master, so you don't have to leave in a hurry. It's not bad to enjoy the life of a rich person. Just stay here, even if you don't do anything, maybe you can complete half of the mission line. At least your interstellar account will have some income. If you quit now, won't all your efforts be wasted?"
"No matter what, start it quickly."
080 didn't dare to go against the host's wishes: "Okay, but if you quit midway, you have to report to the bureau and create a false impression of accidental death. Host, you go back and wait. We will start after I report it."
Tao Xing raised her eyes and said, "Then hurry up."
He couldn't leave immediately. He couldn't keep getting wet in the rain. He waved his hand and walked towards the hotel.
Raindrops splashed in the mud and landed on his trouser legs, leaving small gray patterns. He took a few steps and suddenly stopped as something grabbed his ankle.
He lowered his eyebrows and looked, and saw a black shadow lying on the ground. The black color spread out, and it also showed ups and downs on the ravines in the land. Raindrops hit it. Two arms stretched out from the flat black surface and gently grabbed his trouser legs.
Tao Xing snorted coldly and stepped over him.
After taking a few more steps, the trouser legs were pulled out again, and the black shadow raised his arm and held out a rape flower.
Tao Xing ignored him and stepped over again.
After returning to the hotel, changing his wet clothes and taking a shower, he stood in front of the window and blow-dried his hair.
It was raining heavily outside the window and the garden was filled with mist. Tao Xing moved six flower pots in one by one.
I picked up the hair dryer again, and in a blink of an eye, I saw a row of rape flowers on the windowsill.
The black shadow was lying on the windowsill. It was still flat and had not become three-dimensional. It looked like a pool of oil flowing down from the window.
In fact, it can also get in through the gap under the window, but it seems not to dare to do so. It just lies there. This form has no eyes, but it still gives people the feeling that it is looking inside eagerly.
Tao Xing glanced at it, turned around and went to the bathroom to blow dry her hair.
The rain was getting heavier and heavier, and the windows were rustling in the wind. After drying her hair, Tao Xing walked out of the bathroom and sat on the sofa, reading the script.
The wind blew the rape flowers away in all directions. I caught a glimpse of the shadow in my peripheral vision and saw it was stunned. An arm stretched out from the shadow, and it moved its body to pick up the small flower.
Tao Xing put the script down and sat there with his arms folded, and saw a flower outside the window being blown by the wind.
The small yellow petals flew up, and were wetted by the rain, sticking to the glass. A black hand gently picked them up, and suddenly, it let go, and the small petals fell away from the hand, and the black hand slipped away and disappeared.
Tao Xing stood up and looked over.
In the garden under the heavy rain, on the weeds and dirt beside the windowsill, the shadow is no longer a piece. No, it has thickness. It is back to its original appearance. It should be said to be a ball. However, it is not a ball now, it is... four, five, six, seven, eight balls.
It's... scattered?
Like a piece of glass, it shattered into pieces.
The color also became lighter, not as dark, but grayish, almost revealing the flowers and plants on the ground.
Tao Xing looked at the scene in amazement, his head buzzing. He didn't have time to think about it, nor did he have time to go out the door and around the corridor. He jumped out of the window and leaned over to look at the part of his head: "What's wrong with you?"
Fortunately, the shattered shadow was still able to move. This piece had a head and an arm. The red eyes on the head turned light red. The eyes moved and murmured something: "Not... intentional, not... cannibalistic."
But you didn't keep your promise. If I hadn't arrived in time, you would have eaten the director. Tao Xing got angry again: "Didn't you mean it?"
It seems that it has learned some new words in the past few days.
Shadow repeated: "I don't eat people."
"Explain it to me later." Tao Xing held its hand and said, "Go inside first. What happened to you?"
His hand went limp, and the arm slid straight down. Its body suddenly became very soft, like... the originally sticky glue was diluted and had no cohesive force. When his arm pulled, it fell back through his fingers and he couldn't hold it at all. Tao Xing realized something: "Are you unable to move? Can't you get in by yourself?"
The shadow did not respond. It was raining heavily and there was no time to ask clearly. Tao Xing lifted his shoulder, but the whole piece slid down like his arm and he could not lift it. He had to squat on the ground and pick it up. He supported it with his arm and protected it with his palm. He finally picked up the piece and jumped into the window to put it on the bed.
He went to pick up the other parts. He took a piece of clothing, put the bodies into the clothes and put them in the bag. He ran seven times and turned around a few times to make sure that nothing was missed. Then he came back with peace of mind, closed the window, drew the curtain, and looked back at the several gray bodies on the bed.
He compared the cracks with the original appearance of the shadow and put the parts back together. However, even though its body was like glue, the fragmented parts could not be glued together and there were still cracks in the middle.
"What's wrong with you?" Tao Xing asked, "How can I help you fix it?"
"Can...okay." said the shadow, its color becoming lighter and its voice becoming a little weaker.
"Can I get better by myself?"
Shadow tilted his head.
"But you look like this..." Actually, if you think about it carefully, it's like there's a dismembered person lying on the bed. However, maybe it's because his immunity is strong or what, Tao Xing didn't find it that scary. He was more angry today.
"It can be cured." Shadow said again.
What it said today is almost catching up with everything it said before.
"Okay, then you lie down and have a rest." Regardless of whether it needed it or not, Tao Xing covered it with a quilt and sat down on the sofa.
The shadow's body was constantly squirming, making a slight sound like a snake walking on the ground. After a while, Tao Xing walked back to the bedside: "Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
The shadow's head tilted slightly, and it seemed to be even lighter. There were some water droplets on its body, as if the water was boiling, and many small bubbles appeared, as if it was sweating a lot.
It tilted its head, and as if using all its strength, it said, "It hurts."
After saying this, Shadow was obviously stunned for a moment. These were not words imitated, but words spoken by himself.
Can it speak for itself?
Is it because it hurts so much that you are so anxious that you can even speak?
