Chapter 6 Six Bats

As they fell straight down from the fourth floor of an old building, Moses had to dive halfway and fight hand-to-hand combat with the plant tentacles for more than ten seconds in order to make the vines controlled by Poison Ivy avoid the wicked child running in front of him. In the end, when he was almost slapped against the wall by the inhuman strength, the gel bomb trap he left two minutes ago played a key role, successfully blocking the enemy and arousing the wrath of the extreme environmentalist Poison Ivy, who began to try to kill the bat that suddenly appeared first at all costs.

"Bruce Wayne must be an extreme sports enthusiast." Moses said to the system in his mind while adjusting his breathing, "Otherwise, I can't think of anything that could make a 200-pound rich man covered in scars all over his body."

System: "Could it be because of sexual fetish?"

“…There’s no need to be so wild.”

Ahead was an elevated bridge leading to Arkham with limited traffic, and further ahead was the river surrounding the island. If they wanted to avoid the crowd, they could only move forward in the direction of the wilderness. Batman grabbed the load-bearing column of the bridge in front with his claws, and in an instant he jumped forward a long distance. When he passed by Nightwing, he extended his hand, and the other side turned his head while running, his eyes widened a little, and shook his hand without hesitation.

After traveling over 200 meters, they smoothly entered the Batmobile parked on the side of the road.

The carport above slowly closed and the engine roared.

"Cool!" The young man sitting in the passenger seat stretched and said, "I like your toys."

"More than a toy," Moses replied in his changed voice. "Fasten your seatbelts."

As he finished speaking, the rear hood of the car rose up, and several black gun muzzles protruded from the metal shell, aiming at the monster that was chasing him closely.

"Bang——"

Fiery flames shot up into the sky, and the heat wave from the explosion became one of the power sources for the Batmobile to move forward. They suddenly accelerated and rushed towards the bay under the moonlight.

Nightwing leaned over and rested his arms on the backrest, accusing in a voice clearly filled with envy and desire: "You just told me you didn't have any heavy weapons."

"This isn't considered 'heavy duty'. If you look at the damage it can do to Poison Ivy, it's at most an Expelliarmus."

The young man in the blue and black tights slowly opened his mouth. He looked even more shocked than when he faced the mutant plant just now.

"…Look at Harry Potter!"

"…" I don't know if Batman has seen it, but Moses has. To be honest, as a normal human being, what's so strange about having seen such a globally popular work?

But at least Moses confirmed again that Nightwing was probably not yet an adult, or had only been an adult for a short time. Although he was agile, he was not powerful. He was determined and courageous, but not very skilled. He was full of enthusiasm and vigor that belonged to young people.

"You shouldn't be here." The words came out of his mouth before his brain could stop him. Moses was stunned and a little annoyed but still completed the sentence, "At this age, you should stay in school. Teachers and adults have the responsibility and obligation to provide protection." Instead of staying up late at night and fighting criminals for three hundred rounds, risking your life.

Damn it. He cursed expressionlessly. Common sense tells us that young people don't like being condescended to by strangers and older people. He should try to be more tactful... or at least wait until they get to know each other before talking about it. He adjusted his facial muscles, trying to make himself look as likable as possible, but this was extremely difficult for Batman - and for the current Moses.

But Nightwing was not angry. He squinted his eyes at the gloomy man and made a joke: "Hey, Dad, are you going to tell me next that I can't smoke, drink, or even have a relationship with a girl?"

“…”

Moses learned his lesson this time and closed his mouth before the strange impulse surged up his throat.

There was a moment of eerie silence in the Batmobile.

After a while, the younger ones began to reflect anxiously on whether they had said something wrong.

He tried to make amends: "That's not what I meant. I know you're not my dad."

"..." The bat driving the car raised his eyebrows and pursed his lips.

Damn. Dick! Say something! Aren't you usually good at talking nonsense?

"I mean my dad died when I was very young, along with my mom... well I swear I didn't mean to curse you, I mean it's rare for someone to talk to me like that, and you just sounded like an old father, you know, so I was just joking - can you please say something?"

"I'm sorry," Moses said slowly. "I'm not angry. I'm just thinking about something. Would you like to talk about yourself?"

Nightwing looked even more uncomfortable after receiving an apology.

But he still said, "You can call me Nightwing. I... I live in Bludhaven now. You know, the city next to Gotham. The atmosphere is similar to here. Because it's close, I will come over and help Commissioner Gordon occasionally when I have time."

Moses said, "He will entrust a child?"

"I'm an adult. Well, I'm almost an adult, but I've been a vigilante in Bludhaven for longer than you've been in Gothan!"

"But I know Gotham better."

Batman said, and suddenly slammed on the brakes to make an emergency drift at the edge of the dock. If Nightwing hadn't fastened his seat belt, he would have banged his head against the car door. Then the carport above them opened automatically, and Moses jumped out without saying a word.

When Nightwing came out of his dizziness, he said, "Please say hello next time—ok?"

The driver's seat was empty.

He was in a daze for two seconds, then turned his head and saw through the car window that the sturdy figure was already struggling with the flower bud. They fought and changed positions, and Batman used several high reefs that broke through the water to entangle the vines into a beautiful bow.

Nightwing stared for a long time but couldn't figure out what was on the pitch-black water.

"High tech, huh."

He would never admit that it was because the other party really "knew Gotan better".

The young man felt strangely angry. He unbuckled his seat belt and jumped out of the car, looking for the right moment to intervene in the fight: "Boss, can I call you the boss? Can you make a sound before you act next time, like a real bat?"

The elder said nothing, and they all ran towards the center of the flower, their steps surprisingly in unison. When Batman leaned down and used his arm guard to deflect Poison Ivy's attack, Nightwing climbed onto his back and used the force to dash into the air.

"First, let's try three toys!"

Moses watched three bat darts with explosive effects rushing towards the pistil, then raised his hand and touched his belt, where there was an empty space.

Facing his cold gaze, the agile blue figure turned around and said, "I'm sorry for not telling you in advance, Boss. This time, let's just return the favor."

Well, Moses wasn't really angry.

He actually wanted to laugh a little, but wouldn't it be disrespectful to Poison Ivy to laugh in this situation? Anyway, Batman held back.

After the last explosion, the giant Piranha Plant suddenly collapsed on the spot, while Nightwing had not yet landed and had nowhere to gain support in the air.

Before he was crushed to the ground by the weight, Moses jumped out, pushed him aside, and lifted up half of his awning to block the dust.

"Ahem, are you okay?" The child coughed violently and raised his head nervously, "What happened?"

"It looks like Gordon has found the antidote." Moses helped him up. "The source is in Arkham."

Batman squeezed the young man's arm and said, "You should get a better uniform."

The one I'm wearing now will tear easily.

"...I will save money after I start working."

Moses thought about the money that Wayne Group had invested in Batman's business, and didn't comment on the fantasy of a kid who hadn't experienced the beatings of the social slave world. He might as well take the time to make a set for him, it wouldn't cost much anyway.

But the most important thing is that Moses is not sure whether to allow Nightwing to go down this path.

Dick could tell what he was thinking by looking at his chin: "Maybe we can help each other in the future? It's not easy to manage Gotham, right? Just like the Flash and the Green Arrow. Well, I heard that they occasionally go to each other's city to help."

"We'll talk about that later." Moses walked to the corpse (?) of the Piranha Plant, lifted up the unconscious Poison Ivy who had been hiding in the pistil and carried it on his shoulder, "You go back to Bludhaven and sleep now. I'll be responsible for contacting Gordon."

Ye Yi: “???” He stood there dumbfounded, staring blankly at the man’s broad, straight back that seemed never to break disappearing into the gradually rising morning mist.

After a while, the roar of the Batmobile came from near and far.

The one left behind: "...You remembered to call a taxi for me, right!!!" Damn! I really want to ride in the Batmobile!
