Chapter 71
"You... like bones? Is it because you have bones exposed in many places?" Amos stared at Kairet's neck. There was only a neck bone supporting the head, without any flesh and blood.
Carrett's eyes gradually narrowed because his jaw was all bone and he had no lips, but anyone with a brain could guess that he was unhappy.
"What kind of question are you asking?!" Hilf wanted to grab Amos and slap him twice. He said to Carey excitedly, "I'm sorry, this guy is a fool. His head is empty, there is nothing here, and what he says can't be taken seriously, really!" He kept poking Amos' head with his hand, constantly emphasizing the 'fact' that this guy is a fool.
Amos was very angry when he was poked in the head and called a fool, but he endured it. He also found that what he said just now was a bit dangerous.
Fortunately, the half-skeleton boy in front of him had no intention of pursuing the matter. He just looked at Amos coldly, and after a while he said, "Your pelvis is not bad."
……?
Question marks popped up in the heads of Hirsch and the others, and they suddenly realized it after a few seconds. Liz covered her mouth with her hands in shock and secretly glanced at Amos's... pelvic area.
Although the shape of the pelvis cannot be seen through the flesh, just looking at the appearance there, maybe... it is not bad?
Amos looked unhappy.
Especially the gazes of the people around him were fixed on him. Maybe they thought it was subtle, but it was very obvious to Amos.
But he couldn't cover it up so that no one could see it, that would be even more embarrassing.
"My...pelvis." Amos uttered these words with difficulty. "Where is it good?"
"With this lady's ribs, we can make a small chair." Kailett gestured to Liz.
Liz's face turned pale immediately, as if she just remembered that the boy in front of her, who seemed to be able to communicate with her, was not a human.
I just don't know if he is a devil or a dark wizard.
Liz hid behind Wesley again.
The evil smile appeared in Kailet's eyes again.
"Are you the owner of this art museum?" Hirford asked cautiously.
"No, I just passed by and saw this place was nice, so I decided to stay here for a while," said Carrett.
Hilf: "Well... do you know how to get out of here?"
Carey glanced at Hilfer and said, "There is nothing in you that I value."
Hierro showed a bewildered expression on his face, but he soon understood. If he wanted to get help from this devilish guy in front of him, he had to pay something. It was obvious that he only liked bones, and there was not a single bone in his body that he valued.
It's good that he won't be treated as prey, but... is he really that worthless?
It's a bit sad.
Since the other party was unwilling to answer his worthless words, Hierophant turned his attention to Amos.
Amos immediately said, "Don't even think about it!"
How do you expect him to live without a pelvis?
Hierro thought about it and realized that the pelvis was only a piece of bone and it was not worth losing. He then looked at Liz again.
Liz practically screamed, "No—"
Don’t think that people have so many ribs, and it seems that missing one is not a big deal. In fact, if you are born with one rib missing, it probably won’t have much of an impact. But later on, it may affect your cardiopulmonary function, which is no joke.
Both of them rejected Hirford. Hirford could only look at Wesley. He patted Wesley's strong arm and asked Carey, "How many suitable skeletons do you think this guy has?"
Carey looked at Wesley. "All of them."
Liz and Amos looked at Wesley in shock, and that look made Wesley feel very uncomfortable.
After hearing the word 'all', Hilf looked at Wesley with envy.
"It must be a height issue." Hirford glanced at the other person, then compared his own appearance in the Western Continent, where he looked like a short fat man, and sighed with regret.
Wesley lowered his voice and said to him, "What is there to be proud of? We are just like piglets waiting to be slaughtered, being picked and chosen by the other side. What is there to be proud of being chosen? In contrast, you who will not be slaughtered are the best!"
After hearing what he said and thinking about it carefully, Hierro came to his senses: "You are right."
"So?" Kailett asked, "Whose bones are you going to use to exchange information?"
"No." Surprisingly, it was Hirsch who first refused. He shook his head and said, "Let's look for other clues to pass the level. We should wait until we have no other options before we consider exchanging opportunities that will cause great losses."
Carret: "Really? Well, I have another piece of good news for you. If the offer is good enough to satisfy me, I can send that person out directly."
After these words were spoken, Amos and Wesley's expressions changed immediately. Liz was still a little confused and looked at them in suspicion.
Lyleford turned Carey's words over in his mind for a few times, and then he understood what was going on. He immediately said, "What a big trap! Are you forcing us to kill each other?"
When Liz heard the word 'suicide', she understood what was going on and her face turned pale. She immediately no longer felt that Wesley was a good man who could protect her. She slowly backed away and put some distance between herself and these powerful men.
"This is a trap, this is slander, this is discord!!" Hierfort jumped up and down, "We can't do this. In a horror game, if a team falls apart, it's not far from destruction! Especially at this time, the first person to leave will die!"
Liz, who was about to leave, paused and stopped where she was.
"Hey guys." Hilf looked at Wesley and Amos. "You wouldn't do that, would you?"
However, neither of them responded to Hilfer, so Hilfer asked both of them again. Amos looked at Hilfer meaningfully and said, "Who knows? But one thing is for sure, your family is the safest."
Because there is nothing on him that the devil could bargain for, and because no one would waste time and energy to take away his bones.
Hilf was stunned.
"I'm sorry, but I won't be going with you," Amos said. "Please leave me alone after this."
"Me too," said Wesley.
Hierophant's eyes widened, and then he looked at the last girl, Liz.
Liz immediately waved her hand. Although Hierro was a little short and fat, and didn't look like someone who exercised regularly to gain strength, Liz didn't think she had the ability to resist Hierro.
No one knew Hirsch. Today was the first time we met. Since we didn't know each other well, we had to be cautious. This is the country with the highest crime rate in the United States. The first thing people here learn is not to trust strangers.
Sometimes, even close friends and relatives cannot be trusted.
Cooperation? No way.
The group dispersed in front of Kailett.
One went east, the other went west, and Liz hesitated before heading north. In the end, only Hirford was left standing in front of Carey, looking incredulous.
"That's not a smart choice," Carrett said, looking at Hilf. "It looks like they don't believe you."
Lyleford pouted in grievance and spread his hands: "I don't blame them, after all, they are all strangers. But I just think that at least I have an honest face."
Carret: “That’s true.”
Hirford: "It's okay, I can do it alone." He sniffed and looked like he was about to cry.
Kailett walked up to Lyle and leaned over.
Seeing the cervical vertebrae on the half-skeleton boy's neck up close, and the clavicle slightly exposed underneath, Hirford shrank his head in fear, and then heard the boy's slightly magnetic voice ringing in his ears, with temptation: "They don't trust you, they abandoned you. Hirford, I know, it's just like when you were a child, no one believed in you."
Hirford froze in fear, then realized something: "How do you know my name?" He didn't remember introducing himself.
"Of course I know." Carrett stood up straight. "I know a lot of things. For example, when you were very young, you had a good friend, but he stole something and framed it on you."
"When you were in middle school, you confessed your love to a very pretty girl, but she played a trick on you. She pretended to agree to take you on a date behind the teaching building, but there was a group of people waiting for you there, laughing at you for your wild dreams. You didn't know how to look in the mirror and see what a pig you looked like."
"During the high school exam, a gangster forced you to help cheat, but you refused and were beaten black and blue."
"I went to college and finally got a girlfriend, but it was really a pity. You treated her as a girlfriend, but she treated you as an ATM. In the end, she cheated on you and dumped you, and got together with a guy in school who was really good at playing football."
Hierro looked down at his toes and wished he could curl up into a ball.
The boy's words were like the devil's whispers, telling all the bad things he had encountered since he was a child.
"You've been telling the truth." Carey's bony hand pressed on Hirford's shoulder. "You said you didn't steal the things, but your friend did. But no one believed you because that kid had better grades than you and always behaved well. How could a good kid steal things? You said that the girl agreed to your confession at first, but how could that be possible? How could a famous little beauty on campus agree to your confession? You said you didn't fight, but the gangsters asked you to help cheat, and you refused, so you were beaten unilaterally. Unfortunately, the teachers at that school were too lazy to investigate so much, and just gave you a demerit and let it go. You told the boy playing football that his girlfriend had cheated again and that you were her boyfriend before, but the boy didn't believe it. He believed your ex-girlfriend's words and thought you were a stalker, so he beat you up."
"Poor Hirsch, helpless Hirsch, lonely Hirsch." Carey tilted his head and stared into Hirsch's eyes. "No one will believe Hirsch."
"It's time. No one cares about you anyway," said Kailett. "So why should you care about them? Bring me one of their bones, and I can get you back safely."
"It doesn't matter whose it is, as long as I am satisfied, one is enough." Kailett held up a white finger bone, "It is not fatal for humans to lose a less important bone. Hilf, you don't have a suitable bargaining chip, so you have to do this in order to leave."
Hierro finally raised his head and uttered one word firmly: "No."
Carey stared at Hilfer, his head leaning forward and his eyes narrowed.
"No," Hilf repeated.
Carey took two steps back and put some distance between himself and Hierophant. "Really? What a pity."
"I hope you can survive, Hildegard." Carrett said before leaving. "Although your bones are not very good-looking, but other aspects are still quite good."
