"Brother Crown Prince, it's been a long time!" Li Zixuan exclaimed happily.
Yesterday, I was overjoyed to hear that Li Baobei's engagement to His Highness the Crown Prince had been called off because she couldn't get pregnant.
Upon hearing that His Highness the Crown Prince had come to his residence, I immediately dressed up carefully and came over.
The Crown Prince looked at Li Zixuan; he had never really liked this woman.
She gives off an impression of being calculating.
"Yes, it's been a long time," the Crown Prince said coldly.
He then wanted to leave.
"Your Highness hasn't visited our residence in a long time. We recently made some delicious pastries. Please have some before you leave!" Li Zixuan said coquettishly.
"No need, I've already eaten and have no appetite now," she said, and strode away.
Li Zixuan stared blankly at the departing figure.
Why? Why does he never even glance at me?
Is it because I am a concubine's daughter?
She used to think that as long as Li Baobei disappeared, he would pay more attention to her.
In retrospect, that was nothing short of a pipe dream!
Li Zixuan was heartbroken, but she would not give up.
After this incident, Li Baobei's engagement was completely over.
She now spends her days eating and sleeping, and in her spare time she plots how to get closer to Lord He.
Life is so pleasant.
A few days later, Li Baobei received an invitation from Princess Anle to attend a poetry and literature garden party the following day.
Li Baobei didn't want to go at all; for a modern, socially anxious adult like her, it was just too difficult.
However, Bizhu kept saying that not going would be a slap in the face to the royal family, which sounded too serious.
Go away, I'll go, okay?
Ugh! I'm really fed up with these old fogies! They're always up to no good!
One word: annoying!
Not long after, Li Zixuan came to find Li Baobei. "Sister, your little sister has come to see you," she said with a forced smile.
oh!
I'd almost forgotten about her lately. Why was she trying to harm me time and time again? Li Baobei stared at her coldly.
Li Zixuan felt a little intimidated by her gaze and immediately showed a frightened expression, "What's wrong, sister? Why are you looking at your younger sister like that?"
"Nothing, what do you want?" she said casually. This kind of person usually doesn't come to the temple without a reason.
Li Zixuan felt that Li Baobei had changed. Her tone of voice had also changed, becoming unpredictable. She had harmed Li Baobei so many times, yet Li Baobei had always escaped unscathed. Her aunt was right; Li Baobei had become smarter.
"Sister, are you angry because your sister didn't come to see you while you were sick?"
oh!
"Does my illness have nothing to do with you?" she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm, as if she were about to pierce through the person standing there.
Li Zixuan felt a chill run down her spine instantly.
Did she find out? How did she find out?
She didn't lose her memory?
Li Zixuan said in a fright, "How would I know if my sister is sick! Sister, don't scare me."
Looking at her panicked expression, Li Baobei really wanted to laugh.
But I didn't want to continue the conversation. "What do you want from me?"
Seeing that she had suddenly changed the subject, Li Zixuan was instantly relieved. "Sister, I heard that Princess Anle is going to hold a poetry competition. Can you take me with you?"
"Go if you want to!" Li Baobei didn't want to say another word to her, so she picked up a delicate pastry and started eating it, her eyes still coldly fixed on her.
Upon hearing this, Li Zixuan said softly, "Thank you, sister. Then I won't bother you any longer," and turned to leave.
Li Baobei suddenly said, "Harming others will ultimately harm yourself, little sister, do you understand?"
Li Zixuan paused for two seconds, but did not turn around. "I understand. Thank you, sister. I have learned a lot."
Li Zixuan understood after the Crown Prince left that day that what is not hers cannot be forced.
She is truly unworthy; she is a vicious and wicked person. She used to think that she couldn't become the Crown Princess because of Li Baobei's existence.
But that's not the case at all. Even without Li Baobei, the Crown Prince never took a liking to her. It was all wishful thinking on her part, which is really ridiculous.
She knew she was deeply sinful, and she didn't ask for Li Baobei's forgiveness; she truly didn't deserve forgiveness.
He then quickly left.
The next morning, Li Baobei was woken up early by Bizhu.
She genuinely loves sleeping in; waking up early is just too unpleasant.
Bizhu brought out many new clothes, and Li Baobei was immediately drawn to a pale yellow dress.
She only wanted to wear light makeup today, and Bizhu carefully dressed herself up.
Li Baobei looked at herself in the mirror.
She was unbelievably beautiful, with a delicate face and flawless makeup, like a fairy descended to earth, pure and immaculate, beyond words.
After Li Baobei finished dressing, she left the mansion, where the Li family's carriage was parked in front of the gate.
Li Zixuan was already standing by the carriage. When she saw Li Baobei come out, she said, "Sister, let me help you up!"
Li Baobei said calmly, "No need," and then, with Bizhu's help, got into the carriage.
Li Zixuan felt awkward, but she didn't make any extra expressions and got into the carriage.
And so the carriage slowly started moving.
The two remained silent in the car. Li Baobei didn't want to get too close to this kind of person; she found it frightening.
I'm not a saint; anyone would have psychological trauma if something like this happened to me twice.
As long as she stops plotting against me and we never see each other again, I'd be incredibly grateful.
