Chapter 27 Evil Spirits (2)

She felt like she was about to die from exhaustion.

The little girl suddenly pointed to one of the houses and said, "This is my home."

The little girl got off Li Baobei and went to knock on the door.

"Mother, I'm back!" she called out, knocking on the door.

A moment later, the door opened, and a woman with tears streaming down her face anxiously walked out.

Upon seeing the little girl, tears welled up in her eyes again. She immediately knelt down and hugged the little girl, murmuring, "You naughty child, where have you been!" Her tone was full of tenderness.

"This brother brought me back."

The woman then looked at Li Baobei, hugged the little girl, and knelt down, saying with tears of gratitude, "Thank you so much, young master. If Yaya were gone, I wouldn't be able to live either." She then cried and tried to kowtow.

Li Baobei quickly went over to help the woman, saying, "No need, it's nothing."

He then said to the little girl, "Be a good girl from now on, and don't worry your mother anymore, okay?"

The little girl sweetly replied, "Okay, big brother."

Li Baobei didn't say anything more and prepared to return home.

She noticed that the sky looked as if someone had used a giant brush to smear black layer by layer onto it, until it gradually darkened.

She wanted to walk faster, but found herself lacking the strength; her body was too tired.

She walked with difficulty, and the street gradually became deserted.

This scene looks like a scene from a horror movie shoot.

How terrifying!!!

She tried to walk as fast as she could.

Because she was so scared, she decided to sing to bolster her courage.

"The great river flows eastward! The stars in the sky point to the Big Dipper! Let's go, let's go..." she sang softly.

But fear still filled his mind.

Suddenly, a startling crow's cry rang out from overhead, "Caw~ caw~".

Li Baobei was instantly terrified, her hair stood on end, and her breathing became rapid.

She felt as if someone was watching her, and a chill ran down her spine.

She didn't dare stop walking, and instantly felt less tired.

He noticed that every few steps she took, a barely perceptible sound of footsteps followed her a few steps away from not far behind.

Her adrenaline was surging wildly.

She pretended to walk quickly, but the sounds behind her still reached her ears.

She felt as if she had been scared to death, every nerve was taut, and only her body was still moving.

Suddenly, she could no longer hold back her trembling. Tears welled up in her eyes and then slowly streamed down her face. Her slender hands clenched tightly together.

Am I going to die again?

But I want to see Lord He a little longer. I want to save him. I want to pull him out of the abyss. He should be shining brightly.

She suddenly started running.

She wanted to live; she didn't want to give up.

I haven't saved He You yet, I absolutely cannot die.

The sounds from behind followed hurriedly.

When she was in despair, she suddenly saw a figure at the intersection ahead, a familiar figure.

The figure was moving rapidly toward them.

Like a drowning person struggling in the water grasping at a straw, she blossomed in despair.

The footsteps behind him stopped abruptly and then ran away.

Closer and closer...

It's him, Lord He!

In an instant, Li Baobei felt that she had no strength left in her body.

She trembled violently all over, feeling every bone in her body shaking.

She thought she was going to die!

When she saw the face she longed to see as she lay dying, she felt that this was the luckiest moment of her life.

When He You ran over, she found Li Baobei looking like a rag doll that had lost its soul.

It felt like she was about to shatter and leave me at any moment.

He immediately went forward and hugged her.

Large tears streamed from her eyes, accompanied by sobs, which sounded particularly clear in the vast street.

She felt so at ease in that moment, and she had no strength left. She collapsed into He You's arms, completely exhausted.

He You looked at the person in his arms and clearly felt the excruciating pain in his body. The pain gradually spread throughout his body, churning in his blood and whipping him again and again.

He was afraid, he was really afraid, that if he had arrived any later, would she have left him again?

This fear gradually drove him mad, and he held the person in his arms tightly.

He thought he could now absolutely protect her safety.

Hahaha!!!

I was indeed too naive.

Hahaha!!!

He laughed hysterically, and a barely perceptible tear slid down his cheek and disappeared as if it had never existed.

He stared into the darkness in the distance, his eyes gradually turning crazed.

Like a demon that has just crawled out of hell, wanting to devour everything that hurt her.

He You carried Li Baobei back to his mansion.

He gently placed her on the bed, as if afraid she would break.

He gently brushed away the stray hairs from her face and looked at her body, which was trembling from shock.

It never stops, even in my sleep.

He took one of her hands and held it tightly in his palm.

Her hands were so slender, small, and fair, yet devoid of warmth.

He was scared, he was really scared...

When he returned to Dali Temple in the afternoon, he found she was not there; he simply assumed she had gone home.

As it was getting dark, he felt a vague sense of unease.

Still somewhat uneasy, he sent a war slave to the Li residence to gather information.
