The moonlight was deep, and the cicadas hid in the darkness, chirping in secret.
A petite figure quietly entered He You's courtyard, carrying a plate of snacks.
He You would always rush into the study as soon as he came back from outside, and would not be seen for a long time.

She tiptoed into He You's study and saw that He You was still looking at documents.

He You found her appearance extremely amusing.

"You want to go out?" He You asked calmly.
Li Baobei seemed to see hope: "Yes, yes, I want to follow the adults. Wherever the adults go, I will follow you. I am yours in life and in death." She said it as if it were a moving tale.
She felt so moved by those powerful words that she almost cried; the adults would definitely agree.
She looked at He You with bright, sparkling eyes.
He You's eyes flickered. "You said it yourself: you are mine in life and in death. Remember that?"
Li Nannan, I gave you a chance. You're the one who provoked me. I will keep you by my side forever.
Li Baobei felt there was hope of getting out, so she immediately nodded affirmatively and said, "Yes, yes! Don't worry, sir. You are now my benefactor. How could I dare to disobey you? I swear to God, I will only ever be your lackey in this life and I promise to be loyal to you."
He You's eyes flickered, as if they were shining, and Li Baobei stared at him, mesmerized.
"I'll take you somewhere," he said, carrying Li Baobei as he sped through the streets and alleys.
Li Baobei found this terrifying; the feeling of not having her feet on the ground was too fantastical and frightening.
She closed her eyes tightly.
Suddenly she felt her feet firmly planted, meaning she had landed.
She slowly opened her eyes and found herself standing on a very high rooftop.
Looking into the distance, one can see a beautiful scene of thousands of lights shining, a scene of prosperity and vitality.
He You sat down on the roof, and Li Baobei immediately sat down very close to him.
The two gazed quietly into the distance. It seemed as if they could see the whole world from this spot, with carriages slowly moving along the streets and vendors hawking their wares. It was as if they could take in all the everyday life of the people.
"How beautiful!" Li Baobei exclaimed, happily admiring the beautiful scenery before her.
He You turned to look at her.
Her eyes always seemed to sparkle, as captivating as a starry night sky.
Li Baobei suddenly felt a little lonely, feeling that this moment was like a beautiful dream, so real and unreal.
"My lord, do you have someone you like?" she asked, turning to look at him, her eyes seemingly filled with sadness.
"Hmm!" He You replied calmly.
So the adult has someone he likes!
It must be Gu Yan! They're a perfect match, really a perfect match.
Li Baobei instantly felt her heart begin to ache again.
But she still forced a smile and said to He You, "I hope you will marry the person you love soon, and have a peaceful and happy marriage every year."
Her heart felt like it was bleeding; it hurt so much.
A single, glistening tear involuntarily rolled down Li Baobei's left eye. She gently wiped it away with her hand and then remained silent.
He You felt that Li Baobei seemed to have suddenly dimmed, and he didn't know why.
He knew he would marry the woman he loved most, and he was certain of it, even if it meant blaspheming the gods and going to the deepest hell.
Li Baobei wanted to distract herself, otherwise she felt too upset, so she said to He You, "Master, I'm hungry, let's go eat!"
They then went into a private room in a restaurant.
Without thinking twice, Li Baobei ordered a lot of dishes and some wine.
He You found her movements incredibly cute, like a hungry kitten searching for food everywhere.
"She drinks alcohol?" He You asked, puzzled.
Li Baobei thought to herself: Didn't the ancients always drown their sorrows in wine? Then I'll have three big bowls and see if I'm still worried.
What can dispel sorrow? Only wine.
What's there to worry about? If my name were Du Kang, would I be able to be with you?
Li Baobei felt extremely bitter.
The two remained silent.
Before long, the waiter brought out the dishes one by one, and they looked delicious and tempting.
She picked up a wine glass, filled it, and handed it to He You, asking, "My lord, would you like to drink?"
He You gave a curt refusal.
