Chapter 63 Purse

The chill has dissipated and the warmth of the sun is beginning to rise. It is already February, and the garden is full of vibrant life, which is quite eye-catching.

Bizhu's voice rang out from outside the door: "Princess, Miss Zhang Si requests an audience."

She was steaming, clearly having just run extremely fast.

Sitting on the soft couch, Li Baobei raised her eyes and replied gently, "Let her in!"

Zhang Pan'er slowly walked in, and her eyes reddened as soon as she saw Li Baobei sitting on the soft couch.

She ran straight over in small steps, knelt down in front of Li Baobei, tears streaming down her face as she sobbed with her head down.

At this moment, Zhang Pan'er didn't know what to say to express her gratitude, but whatever she said seemed meaningless, as Li Baobei had helped her so much.

No matter how much I express my gratitude, it all feels inadequate.

"Get up!" Li Baobei reached out and helped Zhang Pan'er up, a faint smile on her face.

Zhang Pan'er looked up and felt as if she were bathed in a spring breeze.

The two quickly became acquainted, and bursts of laughter occasionally filled the room.

Li Baobei was sewing a purse stitch by stitch, following Zhang Pan'er's instructions.

"Ouch~~"

She accidentally poked her finger again; this is the sixth time now. Ouch!

I wonder how many needle marks I'll have on my hands after embroidering this red envelope.

Li Baobei sighed and said helplessly, "Pan'er, this is too difficult. I really envy you." She looked at Zhang Pan'er with envy in her eyes.

Zhang Pan'er's cheeks flushed slightly, and she said in a weak voice, "Princess, please don't praise me anymore. Your status is noble, and you really don't need to learn such tedious things. How about I embroider this purse for you?"

Li Baobei quickly explained, "No need, no need. This purse is a gift I wanted to give to someone important. I wanted to embroider it myself, hehe~"

After saying that, she thought of He You, and a faint blush appeared on her face.

Zhang Pan'er was stunned. Who was this person that even the princess considered important?

Her eyes widened slowly, and she exclaimed in surprise, "Princess, you have someone you like?"

She quickly covered her mouth after she finished speaking, realizing that she had spoken without thinking.

In ancient times, women kept their distance from love and would not easily speak of such matters.

Seeing Zhang Pan'er's surprised expression, Li Baobei said calmly, "Yes, I plan to embroider it and give it to my sweetheart. I hope he won't mind."

Zhang Pan'er said urgently, "How could I possibly dislike it? The princess worked so hard to embroider it." Her eyes were full of determination.

"Haha! I hope he'll like it!" Li Baobei looked at the black embroidered cloth with specks of dark red showing through it. This purse was truly the result of her painstaking efforts.

She shook her head calmly. "Take it slow!"

Time flies, the sun sets in the west, and in the blink of an eye, the last rays of light dissipate, dusk deepens, and the night wind is cool.

Zhang Pan'er bid farewell to the Prime Minister's residence and departed in the Zhang family's carriage.

Li Baobei returned to her room and continued embroidering the purse.

Something felt wrong here, so I unraveled and redid it. Then something felt wrong there, so I unraveled and redid it again.

As night fell, Bizhu slowly lit many candles in the room.

The room instantly took on a somewhat opulent and glittering appearance.

Bizhu's eyes revealed her heartache: "Princess, embroider again tomorrow! You've been busy all day, you should rest."

Li Baobei continued embroidering the purse without looking to the side, and said gently, "It will be finished soon, and I can give it to Lord He tomorrow. Bizhu, don't worry."

She wore a charming smile, and Bizhu remained silent, standing quietly to the side.

Time passed slowly, and it was already past midnight.

"Finally finished, I'm so happy!" Li Baobei put down her needlework and carefully examined the purse.

It's not bad anymore; it's much better than it was in the afternoon. A satisfied smile appeared on her face.

Bizhu brought over hot water, and Li Baobei soaked the purse in it. As soon as her hand touched the hot water, she clearly felt a sharp pain in her fingers and quickly withdrew her hand.

When Bizhu saw this, she was shocked and quickly took her hand to look at it. She saw that her fair fingers were covered with needle marks.

Her voice was urgent: "Miss, your hands are covered in needle marks, how could you touch hot water? It's all my fault."

Bizhu felt guilty and tears streamed down her face. Li Baobei gently wiped away the tears.

She gently comforted him, "Your princess is fine, so please don't cry! Otherwise, I'll suddenly feel bad too."

Upon hearing this, Bizhu stopped crying and looked at her with heartache, saying, "Princess, you have been pampered since you were a child. How could you do such rough work? It's all my fault for not persuading you, which is why you have to suffer like this."

She started sobbing again after saying that, and Li Baobei quickly stopped her, "No, please! Bizhu, you can't cry, or your young lady might die young!"

"Pah, pah, pah~" Bizhu hurriedly interrupted Li Baobei.

“How can you say such unlucky things, Princess? Bah, bah, bah, bad luck go away!” Bizhu said, forgetting her sadness just now.

Li Baobei breathed a sigh of relief and said gently, "Then Bizhu, could you please help me wash the purse? My hands might have some difficulty."

Bizhu immediately started kneading the purse in the water, saying, "Princess, you should rest well. This is something that servants should do."

The two joked around for a while, and bursts of silvery laughter filled the room.

At this moment, a figure was standing on a large tree outside the Treasure Pavilion of the Prime Minister's residence.

Finding that everything was alright in the room, it disappeared into the darkness.

At this moment, He You was sitting at her desk, intently looking at the documents, and asked in a calm tone, "How is it?"
