Chapter 67 Bewitching Fragrance

"Zhang Maowen again?" Li Baobei gradually revealed a disdainful smile. "Ha!"

Is this guy plotting against himself? How interesting.

Now that the show has begun, how could I, the main character, be left out? Although I, Li Baobei, don't cause trouble, I'm by no means afraid of it either.

When soldiers come, generals will block them; when water comes, earth will dam it.

This princess will beat you all to a pulp, until you're all exposed! Aunt Zhang, is that you? Zhang Maowen, is that you?

Let's see who has the last laugh!

After lunch, Aunt Zhang stopped Li Baobei in her way and said gently, "There have been thieves in the mansion lately, Nannan, you must be careful! Don't let the thieves steal anything from you."

As she spoke, a loving smile graced her face, leaving Li Baobei feeling a sense of disbelief.

This must be the legendary smiling tiger! Sweet words, but a heart of stone.

Li Baobei awkwardly forced a polite smile: "Thank you for your concern, Auntie. Nannan will definitely remember it."

After saying that, he gave Aunt Zhang a smile that seemed to last forever, which almost made Aunt Zhang lose her composure.

I just felt that Li Nannan was indeed different. Her words and actions were no longer full of loopholes as before. Now even she was not easy to fool.

After speaking, Li Baobei planned to walk around Aunt Zhang and leave, but Aunt Zhang took a step forward and immediately grabbed her.

She continued, "Nannan, your aunt is really worried about you. You and Zixuan grew up together, and your aunt treats you and Zixuan the same, as her own daughters."

There might be a thief hiding in the mansion. The concubine ordered the servants to search the entire mansion, but they still haven't found the thief.

Now we haven't checked your courtyard yet. Is it alright if your aunt takes the servants to look around later? If we don't find anything, that's fine, but if we do find something…”

Li Baobei raised an eyebrow seemingly casually, but her tone became tense: "Auntie, you don't actually think there's a thief in my yard, do you? That's terrifying!"

She looked terrified, her body trembling slightly. Aunt Zhang looked at her and sneered inwardly, "She's no different from before. I was really overthinking things."

Aunt Zhang's face was also flushed with anxiety, and she pretended to be very nervous. "Yes! Nan Nan, Auntie is just afraid that the thief has run into your yard. Auntie will take some people to check in a bit, and then I will feel at ease."

Li Baobei paused, looking troubled, and said, "I'm afraid this is against the rules! Nannan is not yet married; if a man were to enter her boudoir, I'm afraid..."

She hesitated, as if she wanted to say something but then stopped, her face showing uncertainty.

Upon hearing this, Aunt Zhang took her hand and comforted her, saying, "Don't worry, Nan Nan, I'll go into your room by myself and take a look. Let the servants wait outside. If any thieves run out, they won't be able to escape."

Li Baobei couldn't help but sneer inwardly, "I wonder what kind of tricks Aunt Zhang is up to now, trying every possible way to get into my room. Let's see what she can come up with this time."

She continued to feign difficulty, saying anxiously, "This..."

Aunt Zhang was afraid that Li Baobei would refuse, so she unconsciously tightened her grip on Li Baobei's hand.

Li Baobei felt she had acted enough and relented, saying, "Then I'll trouble you, Auntie."

Aunt Zhang beamed with joy, her furrowed brows completely relaxed.

She quickly smiled and said, "No trouble at all, no trouble at all. As long as Nannan is safe, it doesn't matter if Auntie is a little tired."

The two exchanged pleasantries for a while, each with their own thoughts, and then went their separate ways.

Li Baobei led Bizhu to the swing in the courtyard of the Treasure Pavilion and sat down.

Just as they were about to relax, Aunt Zhang strode in with seven or eight servants, looking very proud and arrogant.

She nodded in acknowledgment, "Thank you for your trouble, Auntie."

"No trouble at all, Aunt Zhang will go in and take a look first." After saying that, Aunt Zhang hurriedly walked into Li Baobei's boudoir.

The servants were going in and out of the other rooms around the courtyard, as if they were seriously looking for someone.

When Aunt Zhang came out of the room, she looked as if she had accomplished something important.

He looked relaxed and seemed to be in a very good mood.

After a short while, Aunt Zhang summoned the servants who had come in, pretended to inquire about the situation, and then the group left in a grand procession.

Li Baobei wore a faint smile as she watched Aunt Zhang leave.

Not long after Aunt Zhang left, Bizhu calmly walked to the courtyard gate and closed it.

Li Baobei slowly stood up from the swing and walked into the house. She really wanted to see what Aunt Zhang was doing in her room.

When they were only three meters away from the door, a figure suddenly appeared out of nowhere, nearly making the two people who were about to enter the room weak in the knees.

When Li Baobei looked again, she was surprised to see Anji, whom she hadn't seen in a long time.

She ran over happily and said with concern, "Anji, I thought I would never see you again! It's been so long since I've seen you, I really miss you."

Her face wore a warm smile, like the morning sun, making people feel comfortable.

"Remember herself? Will she really remember herself?" Anji's eyes showed surprise, but his face remained expressionless.

"I am always protecting Princess Chang Le's safety. If the princess is in danger, I will be there."

Anji's tone was indifferent, devoid of any extra emotion.

Li Baobei didn't care. She knew what kind of person Anji was. She always believed that Anji was a very, very good person, just not one to show it easily. He was cold on the outside but warm on the inside.

Li Baobei was about to ask when, but Anji continued, "I'll go in first to check, lest some evil person put something unclean in the princess and hurt her."
