Chapter 69 is such a cliché scene, I'm sick of seeing it.

Her cold words pierced the silence of the night, and everyone turned to look at Aunt Zhang, who had her head bowed.

Aunt Zhang tried to calm herself down, slowly raising her eyes, which still held a trace of the panic that had just lingered.

She spoke with concern: "I just heard from the maid that a thief had entered the Treasure Pavilion. I thought the princess had seen the thief, so I asked with concern. Please don't blame me, princess."

Her palms were secretly squeezed until they turned red, but no one knew.

"Oh! Then Nan Nan should thank Auntie for her concern, hehe~" Li Baobei's laughter was clearly cold.

Aunt Zhang gripped the handkerchief in her hand even tighter, but could only force a smile to hide the panic on her face.

Just as everyone was searching for the thief in the courtyard, Bizhu, who should have been in the courtyard, ran in from outside the Treasure Pavilion.

The scene seems familiar~

"Something terrible has happened!" Bizhu knelt down in front of the Prime Minister and his wife as soon as she entered the room and said loudly, "I just went out to get some food for the Princess and I saw a figure sneaking into Aunt Zhang's courtyard."

Li Hong's expression instantly turned serious. The Prime Minister's mansion, a place of great importance, had been turned upside down by a thief. It was truly the most ridiculous thing in the world.

He said in a threatening tone, "I'd like to see today what kind of petty thief is causing such disturbance in this mansion! Guards!"

Several servants immediately knelt down and replied, "We are here."

Prime Minister Li said coldly, "We must find the thief in the mansion today. If we can't, then you have no reason to exist."

His tone exuded an overbearing power, a demeanor honed over many years as a prime minister, which made people unable to help but feel afraid.

"Yes," the kneeling servants answered in unison, their voices firm and powerful, their words like thunder, resounding and impossible to ignore.

Aunt Zhang felt uneasy, sensing that something terrible was about to happen today, and her right eyelid was twitching violently.

She silently prayed that nothing bad would happen.

A large group of people walked into Xia Garden in a grand procession. Li Zixuan heard the commotion outside from her room.

She quickly put on her coat, and a little while later Gu Yu came in to help her style her hair.

Li Zixuan asked with a suspicious look, "What's going on outside?"

Gu Yu had no idea what had happened tonight. She and her mistress had gone to bed early, so they were completely unaware of what was happening outside.

Gu Yu replied blankly, "Miss, I don't know what happened either, but a lot of people have come outside."

"Oh." Li Zixuan felt that something was wrong, so she tidied up, opened the door, and went out.

As soon as she stepped outside, she saw a large group of people standing in the courtyard, which startled her, but she quickly regained her composure.

Li Hong asked again in a stern tone, "Did you really see a thief enter this place?"

Bizhu, kneeling on the ground, trembled slightly and said with certainty, "Yes, sir, this servant saw a shadow enter Xia Garden and even enter Concubine Zhang's..."

When Aunt Zhang heard Bizhu mention her, she forgot to control her expression and glared at Bizhu, scolding, "You—what did you say? You're just a little maid, don't spout nonsense..."

I wanted to tear her mouth apart the next second.

Bizhu began to sob softly, as if she were about to faint from fright at any moment.

Seeing this, Li Baobei took small steps forward and gently helped Bizhu up.

He said in a flat tone, "You can go now."

Bizhu wiped away her tears and replied softly, "Thank you, Princess." Then she turned and left.

Aunt Zhang's eyes were practically spitting fire. How dare a mere maidservant climb all over her! It was utterly despicable.

Li Baobei looked at Aunt Zhang with a smile and said calmly, "Why should Aunt Zhang make a fuss over a mere maid?"

Bizhu was helping me get food when she accidentally saw a thug enter your yard. She didn't say anything to you, did she?

The way my aunt looks makes one wonder…

Aunt Zhang gritted her teeth and said hatefully, "You..."

Before she could continue, Li Zixuan quickly approached and asked with concern, "Auntie, what happened? Why do you look unwell?"

As she spoke, she tugged at Aunt Zhang's sleeve. Aunt Zhang paused for a moment, then fell silent.

Li Hong glanced at Aunt Zhou's expression and felt that she had become a stranger to him.

He was more concerned about whether there was a thief in the room.

His expression was serious, with a hint of ruthlessness, as he strode towards Aunt Zhang's bedroom.

Pushing open the tightly closed door, I looked up and saw someone lying on the bed, disheveled.

He was so shocked that his face turned pale; this was an utter disgrace.

Wang Donghui, who followed in, also exclaimed in surprise, "Quickly! Someone, drag the person off the bed!"

Zhang Maowen felt as if he had fallen heavily to the ground, and opened his eyes uncomfortably.

Upon looking up, I saw Li Hong and Wang Dong sitting in the hall with solemn expressions.

But he was lying on the ground, his clothes disheveled.

What on earth happened? Zhang Maowen quickly knelt up and straightened his clothes.

Seeing that Zhang Maowen seemed indifferent, Li Hong flew into a rage and said, "You unfilial son, what are you doing in your aunt's room?"

His voice was deafening, and Zhang Maowen felt like he was about to be scared out of his wits.

He couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Wasn't he in Li Nannan's room? How could he say he was in Aunt Zhang's courtyard? That's really strange."

He looked up and saw Aunt Zhang. Just as he opened his mouth to say something, Aunt Zhang walked over very quickly.

She slapped him across the face, yelling, "You unfilial son! I told you not to drink, and now you've gone to the wrong room and don't even know what you did wrong! I'll beat you to death!"
