Two days later.
A high-end private hospital.
In the VLP ward, the man lying on the bed had his eyes closed. He had delicate eyebrows and distinct features, as if he had been drawn by God himself, and was as handsome as a god in a painting.
"Chi Yan, wake up! I'm so worried about you..."
"Chi Yan..."
He was surrounded by complete darkness, without a single ray of light, and a hesitant female voice came from the side, giving Yu Chiyan a headache.
Su Qingqing lay by Yu Chiyan's bedside, her eyes swollen from crying. When she saw Yu Chiyan frown, a look of joy immediately appeared on her face.
"Chi Yan...Chi Yan, are you awake?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the man on the bed slowly opened his cold and bewildered eyes.
"Where...is this?"
As soon as he opened his mouth, he felt his throat was dry and parched, as if it had been roasted by fire.
"Chi Yan, you're really awake? This is a hospital! You almost lost your life trying to save your sister. How are you feeling now? Is anything bothering you?"
Seeing him wake up, Su Qingqing's face lit up with joy, and her tone was full of concern.
Su Qingqing's words brought Yu Chiyan back to his senses.
Oh, right!
He went to rescue Su Yaoyao. When he left the cabin, his foot was pinned down by something. He remembered that the green water around him was stained by the blood flowing from his upper body. He remembered that the seawater rushed into his mouth and nose like crazy. He remembered the unbearable pain in his chest.
He thought he was going to die, but he still hadn't found Su Yaoyao!
"Su Yaoyao...where is Su Yaoyao...where is she?"
Yu Chiyan sat up, clutching his injured shoulder. That stupid woman, Su Yaoyao, would have been terrified if he hadn't found her.
"Chi Yan, what are you doing? You can't move right now!"
Seeing that Yu Chi was struggling to get up, Su Qingqing quickly spoke up to persuade him.
"Get out of my way, I'm going to find her!"
Before Su Qingqing could react, the man pushed her to the ground.
Ignoring the reopening of his wounds, Yu Chiyan staggered out of bed and was about to push the door open when he left, not even giving Su Qingqing a second glance.
Watching the man's swaying back, Su Qingqing gripped the ground tightly with both hands, her eyes bloodshot.
"Yu Chiyan, Su Yaoyao is fine! She doesn't need you to save her anymore! She's alive and well. Not only is she fine, but she didn't even come to see you once while you were unconscious!"
Su Qingqing shouted at Yu Chiyan's back, and the man's hand on the doorknob stiffened.
Is she alright?
Wasn't she tied to the sunken ship by those people?
Su Qingqing slowly stood up, looking at Yu Chiyan's pale and sickly handsome face, and continued to speak in a sorrowful tone.
"Chi Yan, what's so great about that woman Su Yaoyao? She doesn't care about you at all. Do you know that you've been lying unconscious in the hospital these past two days, and what's she doing? She's been trying every possible way to divorce you!"
Yu Chiyan's expression changed slightly. He walked a few steps to Su Qingqing, his cold eyes fixed on her. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
His gaze was so frightening that Su Qingqing couldn't help but take a step back, then forced herself to remain calm and spoke.
"I'm not lying. The first day you were admitted to the hospital, I went to see Su Yaoyao. I found out she went to a private investigator, her purpose being to investigate you so she could divorce you!"
The man's breathing was heavy and deep, each breath hitting my ear.
"Let Jiang Chen in. You get out!"
Looking at the man's indifferent profile, Su Qingqing opened her mouth, but in the end she gritted her teeth and went out to call Jiang Chen in.
"Master, you're finally awake!"
Jiang Chen's joy was palpable when she saw Yu Chiyan.
The man's expression was cold; "Is Su Yaoyao alright?"
Speaking of this, Jiang Chen was so angry that his teeth itched. Not only was Su Yaoyao unharmed, but she actually took advantage of her master's illness to send people to investigate him, and her purpose was to divorce him!
What exactly did her master do to wrong her? She was trying every possible way to leave!
“Master, Madam is indeed alright. I don’t know the specifics. After Chu Ling rescued you, he was urgently recalled by the military region. I’ve been dealing with company matters and following up on those people, so I haven’t had time to find Madam to find out what happened. And…”
As he finished speaking, Jiang Chen's voice weakened.
Yu Chiyan clutched his chest, his tone somewhat bewildered; "And what?"
Looking at the man's tall but lonely back, Jiang Chen hardened her heart and said, "Madam is busy having people investigate you. I don't think she has any time to care about you at all."
He could choose not to believe Su Qingqing, but he couldn't help but believe Jiang Chen, who had been with him for so many years.
He tilted his head back and closed his eyes slightly.
It turns out it was all true.
He was genuinely relieved and happy that she was alright.
But even though he was injured, Su Yaoyao never came to see him once. All she wanted was to find evidence of his relationship with Su Qingqing so she could give him a divorce.
A faint, cool smile appeared on Yu Chiyan's lips.
He thought he could win Su Yaoyao's heart, but now?
Reality gave him a resounding slap in the face.
"Jiang Chen, pack your things and let's get discharged."
Jiang Chen's heart tightened; "Master, your injury..."
Yu Chiyan's entire aura was enveloped in ice shards, and his voice was cold and inhuman.
"I'll get on it right away."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Chen dared not say another word; "Yes, Master."
He turned and left the ward to handle Yu Chiyan's discharge procedures.
