Evening arrived quickly. Jiang Wen stood at the company entrance, waiting for Si Ye for a long time, but he did not come.
Just as I was about to make a call to ask what was going on, Si Ye called.
The moment the call was answered, before Jiang Wen could even speak, the man's clear voice rang out.
"Xiaowen, I had a little accident on the highway, so I'm afraid I can't come to your house today. Please apologize to your parents for me."
Jiang Wen's heart tightened upon hearing Si Ye's words; "What happened to you?"
She said that nothing good would come of Si Ye getting involved with her.
"It's okay, don't worry too much. There were just a lot of cars on today, and I accidentally rear-ended someone. But luckily, the other driver was very friendly. I'll settle things with him privately. It'll be fine."
Jiang Wen was a little worried when he heard him say he had been rear-ended; "Are you alright?"
Si Ye's voice sounded relaxed: "Don't worry, I'm fine."
"It's good that you're alright. Take care."
"Okay, Xiaowen, I'm sorry about today. I'll make it up to you another day. I'll get back to work now."
Jiang Wen said okay, and the two hung up the phone. She breathed a sigh of relief.
Si Ye not going to the Jiang family today gave her a strange sense of relief.
Jiang Wen walked across the street in high heels, intending to hail a taxi back, when a black Rolls-Royce drove towards her.
Jiang Wen's expression changed slightly, a familiar premonition making her uneasy.
The car window slowly rolled down, revealing Jun Xian's handsome face.
The man had a wicked smile on his lips, but his brows were cold and his eyes were sharp.
"Miss Jiang, it's so late and you're still out alone. Let me take you home."
Jiang Wen felt a little guilty under his gaze and took a step back, saying, "Thank you for your kindness, Young Master Jun, but I've already called my family driver, who will be here to pick me up soon. I won't trouble you any further."
Upon hearing this, Jun Xian's smile widened, and his voice carried a wicked smirk.
"Miss Jiang, you'd better get in the car quickly, otherwise if your driver sees me carrying you into the car and misunderstands something, and tells your family, that would be troublesome."
The assistant driving pretended not to hear, but in his heart he was cursing Jun Xian for being so inhuman.
How shameless must one be to utter such threatening words without restraint?
Jiang Wen was furious at Jun Xian's words, glaring at him through gritted teeth; "What exactly do you want?"
Jun Xian smiled slightly, quite shamelessly; "Of course, I'll take Miss Jiang home."
"Hurry up and get in the car, don't wait for me to get off and ask you to."
Jiang Wen was so angry that his face turned red, but he didn't dare to leave him. He angrily reached for the passenger door, when a man's voice sounded from behind him.
"Sit in the back."
Jiang Wen gritted her teeth and endured it.
Junxian watched the woman obediently get into the car, and his expression was very satisfied.
"That's right, Miss Jiang is still as well-behaved as ever."
Jiang Wen's back stiffened. He looked at Jun Xian with a cold gaze, as if he had thought of something.
"Young Master Jun, the more obedient a woman is, the more tragically she will die. Don't you know that?"
Her words seemed to imply something, and all the smiles on Jun Xian's face vanished. He looked at Jiang Wen expressionlessly and suddenly spoke.
"If you dare to talk nonsense again, I'll make sure you can't show your face in public tomorrow."
Jiang Wen's hidden resentment vanished in an instant, and she blushed as she cursed, "Shameless!"
Seeing her jumping up and down, Junxian was satisfied and waved for the driver to start the car.

By the time Su Yaoyao and Yu Chiyan returned to the old house, it was already nine o'clock in the evening.
As the two entered the house hand in hand, Madam Yu smiled broadly.
"Oh, the young couple are back from their date?"
Madam Yu seemed to be in much better spirits today than she had been the previous two days, and her eyes were sparkling as she looked at Su Yaoyao.
Su Yaoyao blushed slightly, broke free from Yu Chiyan's hand, and ran over to take Yu's arm.
"Grandma, what are you saying..."
Yu Chiyan looked at Su Yaoyao with a smile on his lips and doting eyes.
The old lady chuckled and patted Su Yaoyao's hand; "What, did I say something wrong? Did you two go on a date?"
Seeing that Su Yaoyao was genuinely embarrassed, Yu Chiyan spoke up.
"Grandma, Yaoyao is shy, so please say less."
Hearing this, Madam Yu became even more agitated; "Oh my, you're really protecting him now!"
Yu Chiyan; "..."
Su Yaoyao: "..."
How can you quickly calm down an excited elderly person?
The answer might be to run away.
"Grandma, I'm not talking to you anymore. I'm going back to my room to take a shower."
After saying this, Su Yaoyao turned around and went upstairs without waiting for Madam Yu to speak again.
Yu Chiyan watched her retreating figure, a faint smile playing on his lips.
The old lady waved her hand in front of her grandson's eyes; "You've been behaving quite well lately!"
Yu Chiyan immediately wiped the smile from his lips, looking at the old lady's gossipy expression with a sense of helplessness.
"Grandma, shouldn't you be resting at this time?"
The old lady glanced at him sideways; "What? Can't I even ask about the progress of my grandson and granddaughter-in-law's relationship?"
Yu Chiyan chuckled upon hearing this; "Don't worry, Grandma, just wait to hold your great-grandson."
Madam Yu's eyes lit up. It seemed that the two of them had truly made up completely!
Yu Chi looked at Madam Yu and suddenly said, "Grandma, go to bed early tonight. You have to go for a check-up tomorrow and get up early."
Upon hearing this, Madam Yu slapped her forehead. "Right, right, I almost forgot about it. I need to go to sleep now."
