After Madam Yu returned to her room, only Su Yaoyao and Yu Chiyan remained in the living room. She reached out and pinched the man's waist.
"Yu Chiyan, you bastard."
Yu Chiyan didn't even flinch when he was pinched, but Su Yaoyao felt that the flesh on his waist was hard and that pinching made her hands sore.
She looked at him with a puzzled expression; "Yu Chiyan, did you grow up eating stones? How come your body is so hard?"
Yu Chiyan's tall figure approached her, and the air was instantly filled with the man's chilling fragrance, making her heart tremble.
Someone embraced my lower back, and the scalding heat penetrated through my clothes, reaching my skin and seeping into my heart.
He chuckled softly, his free hand pressing down on the back of her head, forcing her to rest her head on his chest. He lowered his head slightly, his thin lips brushing against her ear, the warm breath making her feel slightly hot.
"There are even harder ones, do you want to touch one?"
Upon hearing this, Su Yaoyao immediately tried to break free from his embrace, looking just like a kitten with its fur standing on end.
"Let go, you scoundrel!"
Yu Chiyan smiled, grabbed her, and picked her up by the waist, carrying her upstairs.
"Be good, I'll let you go right away."
What he said was true. Yu Chiyan carried her into the bedroom and placed her on the pure white bed.
The man's burning hot body pressed down on her, and Su Yaoyao began to curse inwardly.
She's already injured, so Yu Chiyan isn't going to force her to do *that* kind of thing, is he?
"Yu...Yu Chiyan...my injuries haven't healed yet."
Yu Chiyan's magnetic laugh rang out above Su Yaoyao's head; "What are you thinking? Do you think I'm such a beast?"
Su Yaoyao didn't speak upon hearing this, but she crossed her arms over her chest. Her large, misty eyes seemed to speak volumes, saying, "I think you are."
Upon hearing this, the man raised an eyebrow, reached out and grasped her chin, his tone both gentle and dangerous.
"You're cursing me in your heart?"
Su Yaoyao shook her head. She didn't curse him in her heart; she was clearly cursing him with her eyes.
"Oh, right."
Su Yaoyao suddenly changed the subject: "How's your investigation into Chaoyan going?"
A fleeting thought flashed in Yu Chiyan's eyes. He suddenly stood up and released Su Yaoyao.
"Don't worry about this, I'll handle it."
Su Yaoyao sat on the edge of the bed, bent down to tidy her hair, and looked up at him when she heard him say that.
"Yu Chiyan, Chaoyan is a minor. Is someone behind him?"
Su Yaoyao wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Yu Chiyan seemed a little impatient.
"Yaoyao, can you leave this matter alone for now?"
Su Yaoyao looked into his eyes, and the tenderness she had just felt seemed like an illusion. Her heart tightened slightly.
“Yu Chiyan, I know you don’t want me to get involved because you’re afraid I’ll worry, right? But this matter also involves Huo Xiting, I…”
Before he could finish speaking, Yu Chiyan's phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and glanced at it, his eyes flashing slightly.
"Yaoyao, I'm going to answer this phone call."
Su Yaoyao nodded obediently, and the next second, Yu Chiyan went to the balcony and closed the balcony door behind him.
Watching the man's actions, Su Yaoyao's doubts deepened.
Yu Chiyan rarely answered phone calls behind her back. Although this wasn't the first time, Su Yaoyao had never felt so uneasy as she did now.
About three minutes later, Yu Chiyan returned.
He frowned as he glanced at the woman on the bed and reached out to touch her face.
"I have to go out for a bit. Be good at home, okay?"
For some reason, Su Yaoyao didn't want him to go. She reached out and tugged at the man's sleeve, her voice soft.
"Yu Chiyan, I want you to stay with me."
The man lowered his eyelids slightly, reached out and took her soft, boneless hand, gently rubbing it against her palm.
"Sweetie, I'll be back soon."
After saying that, he turned around and went to change his clothes.
All Su Yaoyao could think about were the things Chen Huimei had said.
Yu Chiyan took Su Qingqing away, suspecting that she was the mastermind behind it all.
But why is Yu Chiyan unwilling to tell me this?
Yu Chiyan changed into an expensive suit and looked quite respectable. When he saw Su Yaoyao still staring blankly, not knowing what she was thinking, he went over and ruffled her hair.
"Don't think too much, go to sleep early."
"good."
Upon hearing her calm voice, Yu Chiyan paused for a moment, but ultimately said nothing and turned to leave.
The door was slammed shut again.
The bedroom became quiet. Su Yaoyao took out her phone and called Jiang Wen.
"Yaoyao, is something wrong with you calling me so late?"
"Jiang Wen, could you help me find out where Su Qingqing is? Also, could you help me find out if Chao Yan knows Su Qingqing?"
Jiang Wen was somewhat surprised to hear this; "Are you going to investigate the sulfuric acid matter? Isn't Yu Chiyan already investigating it? Why are you bothering with this?"
Su Yaoyao's fingers turned slightly white; "No... he didn't tell me, I want to find out myself."
"Okay, I'll have someone investigate right away."
Jiang Wen didn't ask any more questions. After hanging up, he made two more calls before things calmed down.
Jiang Wen threw his phone onto the bed and was about to go to the bathroom when Si Ye called again.
"Xiaowen, I'm so sorry. My mom isn't very educated, and that's just how she talks. She doesn't always consider other people's feelings. I've already talked to her about it, and she'll be more careful in the future. Please don't be angry."
Jiang Wen paused for a moment, recalling what Si Ye's mother had said during dinner that evening.
“I haven’t really taken care of my son Xiao Ye. I just cook for him, do his laundry, and take care of his life. That’s why he’s doing so well outside.”
"Xiaowen, now that my Siye is with you, you have to take good care of him."
"Si Ye is a good-tempered and kind-hearted boy. Xiao Wen, you won't suffer if you go with him."
These words made Jiang Wen feel very uncomfortable.
Si Ye's mother's words were clearly telling her, both openly and subtly, that she would have to be a slave to Si Ye after marriage, that Si Ye had a good temper and a kind heart, and that she wouldn't suffer any losses. She was telling her that her son was perfect in every way, and that if they ever quarreled or had any conflicts, it would definitely be Jiang Wen's fault.
"Xiaowen? Don't stay silent, I'm worried about you."
Jiang Wen came to her senses, and thankfully she felt that Si Ye was a reasonable man.
"It's nothing, Si Ye, don't overthink it. I'm just tired and want to rest early."
Si Ye asked cautiously, "Really?"
"Um."
"How about this, I'll ask you out for dinner tomorrow night as an apology, okay?"
Jiang Wen wanted to say no, but she knew that Si Ye, though seemingly gentle and refined, was actually very assertive. If she didn't agree, he would keep pestering her.
"Can."
"Then it's settled. Get some rest. Good night."
"good."
