When Su Yaoyao returned to the Golden Royal Garden, it was already 9:30 p.m.
Yu Chiyan has taken Se Se somewhere, and they haven't returned yet.
My aunt took the day off today and went back to her hometown in the countryside, so the living room felt incredibly empty and desolate.
Su Yaoyao sat on the sofa, staring blankly ahead. Her mind was in turmoil, and she wearily rubbed her temples.
Su Yaoyao sank completely into the sofa, her exhaustion evident.
She didn't know how much time had passed when her phone, which she had tossed on the sofa, rang. Su Yaoyao didn't even look at it before answering.
"Yaoyao, how have you been lately?"
The familiar, refined voice came through the phone, and Su Yaoyao's eyes snapped open, revealing a mixture of surprise and joy.
"Huo Xiting, why are you calling me?"
Huo Xiting chuckled softly on the other end, his gentle voice seemingly capable of soothing the soul.
"I'm coming back, so I'm calling you to ask if you have time to pick me up from the airport."
Upon hearing this, Su Yaoyao instantly perked up; "You're coming back?"
"Yes, are you coming to pick me up at 10 a.m. tomorrow?"
Su Yaoyao laughed and teased him, "You called me personally, of course I have to come pick you up."
Huo Xiting smiled with satisfaction upon hearing this.
The two, who hadn't been in touch for a long time, found they had a lot to talk about once they started chatting. During the conversation, Su Yaoyao asked a question out of curiosity.
"Xi Ting, you're planning to come back because of what happened to the Huo family ten years ago. Have you found out the truth?"
Huo Xiting remained silent for a while before speaking: "There's a bit of progress. We'll discuss this further when I get back."
Su Yaoyao was taken aback for a moment, then nodded; "Okay, we'll talk about it when you get back."
"Then you should get some rest, and remember to pick me up from the airport tomorrow."
"Don't worry, I definitely won't forget."
"That's good."
Huo Xiting said with a smile, and then the two hung up the phone.
Thinking that she had to get up early tomorrow, Su Yaoyao went upstairs to take a shower and went straight to bed.
Just as she closed her eyes, the sound of an engine came from outside the villa. Su Yaoyao immediately opened her eyes, thought for a moment, and then put on her slippers and went downstairs.
As soon as I went downstairs, I saw a man in a black suit, exuding a cold aura, step into the front door.
Su Yaoyao immediately stepped forward to greet her; "You're back?"
Yu Chiyan glanced at her without any emotion in his eyes; "Su Yaoyao, you're happy to have driven Se Se away from the old house, aren't you?"
Yu Chiyan's questioning made Su Yaoyao's expression freeze instantly, and the light of hope in her eyes instantly cooled.
"Yu Chiyan, what do you mean by that?"
Yu Chiyan sneered: "What do I mean? Do you know that Se Se is making a scene because of what happened at the Yu family today, and you want to go back to Paris? Is this the kind of scene you want to see?"
Su Yaoyao's hands, which were placed at her sides, gradually tightened. She bit her red lips lightly, and her eyes filled with a misty lightness.
Sese wants to leave Nancheng? What a joke, how could that be possible?
She clearly knew she couldn't stay in the old house any longer, and used this excuse to leave the Yu family, but it made Yu Chiyan have a problem with her again.
"You think Sese doesn't know that you won't agree to her leaving Nancheng?"
Yu Chiyan's expression changed slightly; "What do you mean?"
Su Yaoyao's lips curled into a mocking smile; "If Se Se didn't tell you she was going back to Paris, why are you coming to interrogate me tonight?"
A subtle twitch appeared between the man's brows, and Yu Chiyan clenched his fists.
"Su Yaoyao, you're so scheming yourself, do you think everyone else is like you?"
Su Yaoyao felt a chill run down her spine when she heard Yu Chiyan's words, and her eyes were filled with disbelief as she looked at him.
"Yu Chiyan, you've known me for so long, so in your eyes, I'm the scheming woman, while your Sese is the most innocent and pure woman in the world?"
Yu Chiyan frowned, his tone equally cold; "What do you mean by 'my Sese'? Don't be sarcastic."
Su Yaoyao gave a bleak smile; "Yes, I was being sarcastic, Yu Chiyan, I'll ask you one question now: if you had to choose between Sese and me, who would you choose?"
Yu Chiyan didn't understand why Su Yaoyao kept saying such things. He had no romantic feelings for Sese, but Su Yaoyao kept forcing him to make a choice.
"Can you please stop giving me these meaningless multiple-choice questions?"
The words "meaningless" were like a sharp knife, piercing straight into Su Yaoyao's heart, and a suffocating pain instantly spread throughout her body.
Su Yaoyao still held onto a sliver of hope; "Okay, then let me ask you again, if we have children in the future, will you still side with Sese first between me and the children?"
A hint of impatience flashed in the man's eyes. He looked at Su Yaoyao's aggressive manner and thought of the legs that Sese had lost for him, which made him even more irritable.
"Su Yaoyao, look at yourself now, are you even fit to be a mother?"
"What...what do you mean by that?"
Su Yaoyao's lips trembled as she looked at the man with a pale face.
Yu Chiyan avoided her gaze, picked up his coat from the sofa again, and turned to leave.
"Forget it, I shouldn't have come back today."
Watching Yu Chiyan's departing figure, Su Yaoyao's face was full of mockery.
"Ha, how ridiculous. I shouldn't have come back. This is your house. I should be the one leaving."
Upon hearing Su Yaoyao's words, Yu Chiyan paused for a moment, but ultimately said nothing and turned to leave.
