"Dad! Mom!"
"I'm back!"
Yu Hui parked the van in the yard and went into the main room.
At this moment, Guo Fang and Yu Jun had just finished their discussion, and both of them looked preoccupied.
Sensing something was wrong, Yu Hui asked, "Dad, Mom, what's wrong?"
"Hui'er~"
Guo Fang forced a smile and told Yu Hui what had happened.
"I see."
"Don't worry about this. Even if the sky falls, your son will hold it up!"
Yu Hui patted his chest: "You guys have nothing to do for the past two weeks, so help me set up a stall! It'll help relieve some of my stress."
Upon hearing this, Guo Fang and Yu Jun's expressions brightened, and both of them beamed with smiles.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, the three of them got into the van.
Yu Hui remained in the driver's seat, while Guo Fang and Yu Jun sat in the back.
The van started and drove along the mountain road, a gentle breeze blowing.
Feeling relaxed and carefree!
An hour later.
Yu Hui arrived at her maternal grandfather's/uncle's house.
This is a two-story villa, with the first and second floors decorated almost identically.
The first-floor living room is used for dining, chatting, etc., while the second-floor living room is used for relaxation and watching TV.
"Oh, Sister Tuo! You've come!"
As soon as I got off the bus, a tall woman with blond hair, wearing gold and silver jewelry walked over.
This is Yu Hui's aunt, Guo Miao.
My maternal grandparents had three children in total. My aunt Guo Miao was the eldest, and Guo Fang was the second.
"Second sister is back! She looks like she's lost a lot of weight in the months I haven't seen her!"
The short, chubby man with a big belly behind Guo Miao said with a smile.
He is Guo Fuqiang, the younger brother of Guo Fang and Guo Miao, and also Yu Hui's uncle.
After exchanging greetings, Guo Fuqiang and Guo Miao rushed to take the luggage, showing great enthusiasm.
Soon, the maternal grandparents, Guo Fang, Guo Fuqiang, Guo Miao and others gathered together, eating sunflower seeds and chatting.
For the old man's 80th birthday, Yu Hui's uncle, Guo Fuqiang, has already made all the arrangements.
This time, I specially invited my two older sisters to come back to my parents' home to celebrate.
When large families gather together, there's always plenty to talk about.
Guo Fang, Guo Fuqiang, and others chatted with smiles on their faces, talking about their recent situations.
Yu Hui and Guo Miao's daughter, Huang Chengcheng, and her uncle's two sons were all looking down at their phones, clearly unable to join the conversation.
After chatting for a while, Guo Miao turned her attention to Yu Hui.
Her daughter is only half a year older than Yu Hui.
When Huang Chengcheng was very young, Guo Miao liked to compare her to Yu Hui.
From major factors like academic performance, quality of life, height, and weight, to minor things like daily meals, clothing prices, and the formula milk powder used.
"Oh!" Guo Miao smiled slightly and said to Guo Fang, "Sister, I heard that your son recently quit his job to set up a street stall, is that true?"
Actually, she already knew about this, but she asked it on purpose.
“He’s back home now, starting a business. He’s set up a small stall on the mountaintop in town,” Guo Fang explained, nodding her forehead.
"Setting up a small stall counts as starting a business?" Guo Miao's sense of superiority immediately rose.
There was a few seconds of silence.
She looked at the afterglow.
"Hui'er, how much money do you make from that little stall of yours in a month?"
"I don't earn much, just enough to make ends meet," Yu Hui said modestly.
Hearing this, she became even more arrogant.
"That's not as good as the interior design you studied before!"
“My daughter is pregnant now and has quit her job to stay at home. Zhe Zhe is covering all the household expenses. He recently got a promotion and now earns 15,000 yuan a month!”
The Zhe Zhe mentioned by Guo Miao is Huang Chengcheng's husband, Chen Zhe.
In 2013, he was the top scorer in the college entrance examination in Sichuan and Chongqing, and a graduate student at a 985 university.
I currently work as a programmer in Shanghai.
He and Huang Chengcheng met through a blind date two years ago and got their marriage certificate last year.
Guo Fang kept urging Yu Hui to get married, partly because she saw Guo Miao's daughter, Huang Chengcheng, getting married and now almost becoming a grandmother.
She also wants to have a grandson.
"Mom! Don't say that. My salary is dragging down the average level of our alma mater."
Chen Zhe smiled and continued, "Unlike Yu Hui, who is now free and doesn't have to worry about the boss's mood."
Why!
Guo Miao sighed and said in denial, "What's so good about setting up a stall?"
"Working from dawn till dusk, setting up their stall under the scorching sun every day, 365 days a year without a holiday..."
Guo Miao described the current situation of street vendors, but not Yu Hui's situation.
Yu Hui is now lying under a towering tree, enjoying the cool shade, with a small air conditioner on, eating watermelon when thirsty, and snacking on braised food when craving something delicious.
If I get hungry, I'll just cook a dish.
Life couldn't be better!
Guo Miao and Guo Fang have always been a bickering couple.
The two disliked each other.
Whenever they meet, they inevitably have a few arguments.
Upon hearing Guo Miao's words, Guo Fang's eyelids immediately drooped.
“Setting up a stall is not like what you described. Now the street vendor economy is encouraged, and many young people are setting up stalls.”
Before he could finish speaking, Guo Miao retorted.
"I'm stating the facts!"
"Hui'er works so hard at her stall, she can only make enough to eat in a month. Zhe Zhe, on the other hand, sits in the office every day, types a few words on the keyboard, and easily earns 15,000 yuan!"
"You can tell which job is good at a glance."
Upon hearing this, Yu Hui subconsciously looked at Chen Zhe.
Chen Zhe is only 28 years old this year, but his hairline has receded quite a bit, showing signs of balding.
The black-rimmed glasses he was wearing on his head seemed to have a much higher prescription.
This is probably the problem for programmers!
Guo Fang crossed her arms in front of her chest, glanced at Guo Miao, and snorted coldly:
