Just then.
A sudden, urgent knocking sound came from outside the door, startling Ye Fan.
He quickly emptied the crumbs from the table into the trash can and wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth.
"Who is it? What do you want?"
"Boss, I've been developing a new flavor of fried chicken these past few days, and I'd like you to try it."
"Oh, come in!"
"Hey, why can't I open it?"
Chef He twisted the door lock but found no response. Only then did Ye Fan realize what was happening.
I just locked the door myself.
Ye Fan slapped his forehead, muttering to himself, "Oh my god, how could I be so stupid!"
As soon as the door opened, a rich aroma wafted out.
This completely baffled Chef He.
It smells so good!
This doesn't taste like the fried chicken I made.
It smells like it's coming from the boss's office...
Am I hallucinating?
That shouldn't be happening!
Chef He placed the fried chicken on the table.
"Boss, please try a bite! It's my newly improved flavor, very crispy and delicious!"
"Uh... okay." Ye Fan nodded.
He just showed off too much braised food, and now his stomach is so full that there's no room left.
Let alone a piece of fried chicken, even drinking a few more sips of water would probably make me throw up.
Looking at the greasy fried chicken in front of him, Ye Fan suddenly felt nauseous and his stomach churned.
He clutched his stomach, looking constipated.
"Boss, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Chef He leaned over to take a look.
After a moment's hesitation, he said decisively, "I know, you must be starving!"
Chef He picked up the biggest piece of fried chicken.
No sooner said than done.
It was stuffed into Ye Fan's mouth in one swift motion.
"Boss, hurry up and eat, don't go hungry, it's bad for your stomach!"
Ye Fan was already feeling nauseous, and now that he'd been forced to eat a chicken leg, he couldn't take it anymore.
"Um, eh—"
