"You'll know who I am later. You must not have eaten yet. I kept you here because you saved Uncle Li and helped the Li family. You also saved me from falling and making a fool of myself." Li Mengdie walked beside Luo and looked at Luo. "Maybe I said something I shouldn't have said just now. I'm sorry!"
Having lived alone since childhood, I've never considered what my family is like. Perhaps I simply don't know what "home" means in this world. While I know what home is, I don't know what it truly means. He softly replied to Li Mengdie's question, his voice somewhat melancholy.
"Are you an orphan? Or do you have no home?" Li Mengdie wasn't sure what Luo's 'yes' meant, so she pressed the issue. Seeing Luo's expression tinged with pain, Li An tried to stop Li Mengdie from asking. But Li Mengdie had already spoken, her words lingering. She stared intently at Luo.
"It's done. There's no point in staying." He had already decided not to pursue this assassination mission. He just wanted to find a reason to give up. And now that he saw the Li family wasn't a particularly evil family, it was time for him to leave.
"Oh, okay!" Li An also smiled happily. After all, Luo was his savior. Of course, he had to thank him properly. Li An walked to Luo's side. "Young man, please come this way."
Luo stopped walking. He didn't move on. Unsure of what to do next, he heard Li Mengdie's voice behind him again. "Uncle Li, he agreed to stay. Come in," Li Mengdie said as soon as she saw Luo stop. Before she could say anything, she blurted out the words.
Luo smiled lightly at himself. It was a smile, but it was more painful than crying. If I could recall it, would this be what pain felt like? Others possessed the most beautiful things in the world. But I didn't, and I didn't even know they existed. "I'm an orphan. I'm also someone who doesn't know what home really means." Luo smiled, but I wanted to cry. Tears that couldn't be shed dripped from my heart.
"It's settled. I'll take my leave now!" Luo wanted to leave. Back to where she belonged. The pain in her heart made her want to cry. The pain had been weighing on her heart for so long. Although she had never faced it before, now that she was facing it, she knew what pain was.
With a crisp sound, Luo answered Li An's question. There was no need to hide his name; even if he told it, they wouldn't know it.
"Uncle Li, I'm glad you're okay. If not, Xiaodie would really be..." Li Mengdie looked at Li An who didn't blame her, and she really blamed herself in her heart.
It was the first time someone had said something like this to him. And it was also the first time he wasn't talking to a wolf. Luo really wanted to know what was going on. Why did it feel so strange?
"Can you stay?" Li An looked at Li Mengdie strangely. Why would the lady ask him to stay? Li An was a little confused. Watching his back as he left, Li Mengdie said something euphemistically. "Luo. Can you please stay?"
Luo couldn't leave anymore. Everyone already thought he'd agreed to stay. Saying he hadn't made up his mind would be hurtful.
Li Fu had been paying attention to what was happening here. He saw the young man turning around and about to leave. He couldn't help but look a little sad. He had helped the Li family so much today. He hadn't even thanked him in person, and he was about to leave. "Master, is he leaving?" Qi Ting was also looking at the young man. Because he found that his daughter had suddenly become a little different. She looked a little shy. "Master, do you think there's something strange about your daughter?"
"You helped me. You also saved Uncle Li. You're the most important guest at the Li Mansion today." Li Mengdie walked over to Luo's side. Since Luo couldn't leave now, he could only turn around and look at Li Mengdie beside him. "Why did you keep me?" Luo was puzzled. He had come here as an assassin to kill the Li family. Now he was a VIP at the Li Mansion. "Who are you? I just saw you fighting at the Li Mansion!" ~! This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
