Chapter 53: Chess Game (3/3)

Han Yunqian naturally noticed Ren Shimin's reluctance, and he calmly bowed and said, "Uncle, can Yunqian trade the inkstone for a match with Fifth Sister?"

Ren Yaoqi was stunned and looked at Han Yunqian. Could it be that this guy really was a chess fanatic?

Ren Shimin turned around and glanced at Ren Yaoqi.

Ren Yaoqi thought about it and nodded.

So, in Ren Shimin's study, Ren Yaoqi and Han Yunqian sat opposite each other and set up the chess game. Ren Shimin sat sideways and watched the game.

Ren Yaoqi looked up and smiled: "Mr. Han, please go first." He gestured for Han Yunqian to play the black piece.

Although Han Yunqian would not underestimate his opponent this time, he was unwilling to take advantage of the situation. He casually grabbed a handful of chess pieces from the chess basket and said, "Let's guess the pieces."

In the end, Ren Yaoqi guessed wrong and Han Yunqian played the black pieces.

Both players were calm and composed, making their moves silently.

This game lasted for an hour, and Han Yunqian resigned before the game was over.

Ren Yaoqi looked at the chessboard, raised his eyes and said, "Master Han, the winner is still undecided."

Han Yunqian smiled. Ren Yaoqi had never seen him smile before, but this smile of his was as free and easy as spring flowers blooming, making people unable to look away.

To be fair, Han Yunqian is a truly handsome man.

"No, they've already split up. Yun Qian's skills are inferior to his."

When a master plays chess, he looks three steps ahead before making a single move.

Ren Shimin laughed at the side: "There are always winners and losers in chess. How can one game determine the outcome?"

Han Yunqian glanced at Ren Yaoqi again, then stood up and bowed to Ren Shimin. "Yunqian, I'm leaving. Fifth Sister, could you send someone to get the painting from me?"

Ren Yaoqi nodded and stood up.

Ren Shimin was studying the chess game from before and waved his hand casually, "You go."

When the two of them came out of the study, Han Yunqian suddenly said, "I didn't bring the painting today."

Ren Yaoqi paused, frowned, looked at Han Yunqian, and said in a slightly annoyed voice, "What do you mean, Master Han?"

Han Yunqian turned his head and looked at her for a moment, then smiled again: "So I asked my fifth sister to send someone to go back with me to get it."

“…”

"Yun Qian has something unclear." Looking at Ren Yaoqi with an expressionless face, Han Yunqian curled the corners of his mouth slightly and asked slowly in a lowered voice.

"Mr. Han, it's okay." Ren Yaoqi was very polite.

"When did Yun Qian offend Fifth Sister, so that Fifth Sister dislikes Yun Qian so much?" Han Yunqian paused and turned around, his dark eyes meeting Ren Yaoqi's.

The boy's eyes were as deep as a pool under a moonlit night. If you looked closely, you could always see a hazy mist lingering.

Ren Yaoqi stared at him for a moment, then tilted his head in confusion and asked, "Why do you say that, Mr. Han?"

Han Yunqian still looked at her without saying a word.

Ren Yaoqi's expression remained unchanged as he smiled calmly, "Young Master Han, you're probably overthinking it. I've only met you a few times, and I'm not familiar with you at all. How can I say I 'dislike' you?"

Han Yunqian finally slowly turned his gaze away and said after a long silence, "That's very good."
