Chapter 518: The Cultivation of a Second Generation Rich Man (2/2)

When Yun Wenfang heard Xiao Jingxi's name, the look in his eyes turned cold.

Old Madam Yun looked at her grandson with a wry smile and shook her head. "If there was even a shred of hope, you would have gone to snatch the person from Second Young Master Xiao, right? You wouldn't have backed off because of Second Young Master Xiao's status or the power of the Yanbei Palace. Fang'er, how can I, your grandmother, trust you to leave the Yun Family in your hands?"

Yun Wenfang had a cold face and said nothing.

Old Madam Yun gently touched Yun Wenfang's head and said, "Fang'er, don't blame me. I'm the head of the entire Yun clan. I can't joke with the fate of the family. Otherwise, when I'm old and go to the underworld, how will I face the ancestors of the Yun clan?"

"No wonder you've indulged me so much over the years. Compared to dragging down the Yun family, those little mistakes are nothing..." Yun Wenfang curled his lips sarcastically.

Old Lady Yun looked at her rebellious grandson, opened her mouth, but ultimately said nothing.

Yun Wenfang asked, "So when you asked me about my future plans just now and said that the family would support me, was that just a casual remark?"

Old Lady Yun shook her head. "No, Fang'er. I say this because you've grown up now. Perhaps some of the things Grandma did in the past weren't right."

Yun Wenfang nodded, curling his lips and saying, "You're right. I have indeed learned a lesson, and I will never forget it. You don't need to worry about me dragging the Yun family down with me because of someone or something. Some things are enough to experience once, and I don't have anything to hold on to anymore."

Mrs. Yun didn't show any joy when she heard this: "I have always hoped that you could understand this truth, but now that you have finally understood it, I would rather you didn't understand it."

Yun Wenfang couldn't help but smile when he heard that, and said something softly: "That's because you love me." Then he wanted to get up and leave.

Old Madam Yun suddenly asked, "Where is Ting'er? Will he...come back?"

Yun Wenfang turned to look at Old Madam Yun and said seriously, "Grandma, my brother has already sacrificed so much for the family. How can the family let him off this once? Compared to an unfilial son like me, he actually doesn't owe the Yun family anything."

Old Madam Yun shook her head. "He's the eldest son and grandson. He should shoulder the responsibility of the Yun family and cannot escape it. Let him go out for a while and get some fresh air. Let him come back when he's had enough fun. I won't punish him."

Yun Wenfang suddenly smiled when he heard this, and blinked nonchalantly: "Grandma, what do you think of me?"

Old Madam Yun looked at Yun Wenfang with some confusion.

Yun Wenfang said half-seriously, "You have more than one grandson, and you yourself said that I'm grown up now. Just because I couldn't do something before doesn't mean I can't do it now, right? My brother's heart isn't in this, so what's the point of forcing him to stay in custody?"

Old Madam Yun looked at Yun Wenfang for a while, then frowned and asked, "Are you serious?"

Yun Wenfang laughed and said, "Of course it's true. How dare I joke with you, Grandmother?"

Old Madam Yun frowned even more tightly: "Fang'er, your temper is not suitable..."

Yun Wenfang waved his hand nonchalantly. "You'll only know if you're suitable after you've done it. When I first joined the military camp, did you think I was suitable? Didn't I end up doing quite well?"

Old Mrs. Yun stopped talking.

Yun Wenfang didn't talk about this matter again. His grandmother always said that he was too persistent. Wasn't she the same?

"It's getting late, grandson, let's go down and rest first." After traveling for several days, Yun Wenfang still felt exhausted even after returning. Even if he had a body made of iron, he couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed.

Old Madam Yun had been frowning, lost in thought. Hearing this, she snapped back to her senses and said quickly, "Now that you're back, stay home and don't wander around. Mrs. Meng lives in your courtyard now. Go visit her. Now that you've grown up, you should behave like an adult. Even if you don't like Mrs. Meng, you should consider the Meng family behind her and stop acting on impulse." (To be continued.
