Chapter 45 You Don’t Remember Me (1/2)

Ren Yaoqi was a little puzzled.

Ren Yiyan shook his head and patted Ren Yijun's shoulder, his tone mildly reproachful: "Third brother, we are discussing chess at Yun Qian's place. Why are you bringing this up with Third Sister? Didn't you play chess with Yun Qian before?"

Ren Yijun frowned

He moved sideways to avoid Ren Yiyan's hand, not knowing what he was thinking about. His face looked a little unhappy. He glanced at Han Yunqian and snorted, then turned his head to the side without answering Ren Yiyan's words.

Ren Yiyan felt helpless and could only smile apologetically at Han Yunqian.

Han Yunqian withdrew his calm, dark eyes from Ren Yaoqi, smiled and nodded to Ren Yiyan. After thinking for a moment, he asked Ren Yijun, "Brother Yijun, did Yunqian do anything wrong and offend you unintentionally? Yunqian is willing to apologize for his inappropriate words and actions."

He had naturally noticed that Ren Yijun's attitude towards him had changed significantly over the past few days. He had long heard that the third young master of the Ren family had a strange and erratic temper, so he hadn't paid much attention to it before. Now, it seemed that Ren Yijun had a grudge against him because of something.

Before Ren Yijun could say anything, Ren Yiyan spoke for him, "Yunqian, don't misunderstand me. My third brother just has this temper, but he means no harm. Please don't mind it."

Ren Yijun glanced at Ren Yiyan, and although he was a little unhappy, he didn't say anything else.

Qiu Yun stroked his chin and smiled at Ren Yijun, "What did Third Cousin mean before? Fifth Cousin is better at chess than Yun Qian?"

Ren Yiyan looked at Ren Yijun in confusion. Seeing that he still looked indifferent, he could only continue to answer for him: "Third brother has been playing chess with fifth sister recently. I guess he's lost a few times. He's just like that. He's happy when anyone beats him. Fifth sister was taught by my third uncle in music, chess, calligraphy and painting. She's much better than the average girl. But her chess skills are better than Yun Qian's. It's just that Yijun, as a brother, favors his own sister."

Although Ren Yiyan's words sounded reasonable, those who knew Ren Yijun's personality well knew that he was not the kind of person who cared about brotherly love and harmony. If he agreed with someone, it must be because that person was better than him in some aspects that he cared about.

Even Han Yunqian, who had only a few contacts with Ren Yijun, looked at Ren Yaoqi thoughtfully.

Qiu Yun looked at Yun Wenfang and suddenly clapped his hands and smiled, "Then I have to ask Fifth Sister why she only plays chess with Third Cousin. I didn't know she's good at more than just painting. Zishu, come with me."

Under everyone's surprised gaze, Qiu Yun pulled Yun Wen and strode towards Ren Yaoqi.

Ren Yiyan didn't know what he wanted, but suddenly he remembered what he had heard before about his father visiting the Yun, Qiu and Ren families to discuss marriage. He looked at the backs of Qiu Yun and Yun Wenfang, and finally swallowed the words that were meant to stop them.

Han Yunqian also glanced at Qiu Yun and Yun Wenfang. Although he stayed where he was, he was thinking about the sudden change in Ren Yijun and Ren Shimin's attitude towards him.

Over there, Ren Yaoqi frowned slightly as she watched Qiu Yun and Yun Wenfang walking towards her.

Although she was the only female member sitting in the corner, there were many maids serving her in the greenhouse. It was in public, and most of the people around her were close relatives and friends, so no one thought that Qiu Yun and Yun Wenfang's behavior was rude.

"Fifth cousin." Qiu Yun called with a friendly smile.

Ren Yaoqi stood up, bowed, and called out, "Cousin, Master Wen."

Qiu Yun and Ren Yaoqi exchanged pleasantries for a while, but did not mention playing chess again.

After that, he simply walked a few steps to the fruit plate on the table nearby and picked up some snacks and fruits. With a gentle smile, he instructed the two maids behind Ren Yaoqi to help him make tea and eat pine nuts.

He chose the distance very well. Even if they couldn't hear the voices here clearly, he could make others think that they knew everything about the situation here.

When he sent her maid away, Ren Yaoqi became alert, feeling that this situation was somewhat familiar. However, outsiders couldn't see anything wrong with this, so she didn't want to overreact.

Looking at Yun Wenfang who had been standing in front of him without saying anything, Ren Yaoqi was just thinking about calling over the two maids who were standing a little further away and serving tea, when Yun Wenfang spoke up: "Thank you for the prize."
