Chapter 507: Xiangqin's Friend (2/3)

The young man followed Yan Ningshuang's hand and turned to look at Xiang Qin, who was standing there worriedly.

Xiangqin had always been like this. Even if someone she disliked was of higher status than her, she would bully them without being seen. But only when she was away from people. She understood her role as a maid better than anyone else, and there were many things she couldn't do in public.

Xiang Qin's face paled. She wasn't afraid of being scolded; she was afraid her recklessness would cause trouble for her Second Young Lady, a humiliation for the Head Maid. Unconsciously, Xiang Qin looked at the young man with a pitiful gaze.

The young man looked at Xiang Qin for a while, and when Xiang Qin was about to cry, he said three words coldly: "I didn't hear it!"

Yan Ningshuang and Xiang Qin were both stunned. Yan Ningshuang was dumbfounded, while Xiang Qin was ecstatic. She subconsciously used her usual skills of flattering and acting coquettishly in front of her master and smiled foolishly at the young man.

Yan Ningshuang's face turned green when she came to her senses. With her status, she would not bother to argue with a servant, but she was in a really bad mood today, and this maid was too bullying. Yan Ningshuang really couldn't swallow that anger, and this man who suddenly appeared dared to talk nonsense in front of her. It was so quiet here that she didn't believe he didn't hear anything just now.

"How could I not have heard it! Could it be that you are in cahoots with this bitch?"

The young man's somewhat gloomy gaze fixed on her again. He looked her over from head to toe as if he had finally looked her in the eye. Then, as if icy shards were breaking, he asked, "Who are you?"

Yan Ningshuang was stunned.

"Puchi——" This time Xiang Qin couldn't help laughing out loud, and the tension just now disappeared.

Xiang Qin, the maid, had a terrible habit of judging people by their appearance. Back when she was at the Ren family, she was more friendly to the good-looking servants. Seeing that this young man was not only good-looking but also kind-hearted, she immediately treated him as one of her own, saying with a smile, "Young man, don't you know her? Aren't you from the Yanbei Palace? This is the niece of the Empress Dowager, who came all the way from Kyoto. She's the famous eldest daughter of the Yan family in Yanbei, and now the Third Young Master's wife in the palace."

The young man didn't even look at Yan Ningshuang, and replied coldly, "I don't know her."

Yan Ningshuang watched the two people insulting her as if they were singing the same tune, and knew that it would be humiliating to continue wasting time with them. She gritted her teeth and suppressed the anger and humiliation in her heart. She glared at them fiercely, then straightened her back, walked past them and left quickly.

Xiang Qin looked at Yan Ningshuang's back, blinked, and turned to ask the friend she had just met: "That's not right! She just left like that?"

The friend glanced at her.

Xiangqin asked her friend, feeling somewhat frustrated, "Shouldn't she have pointed at us angrily and said, 'Just wait and see' before leaving? Or at least jumped on me and scratched my face?"

Xiang Qin was very dissatisfied with Yan Ningshuang's "unpredictable behavior". She had not yet tortured this shameless woman enough.

Her friend quietly watched the colorful expressions on her face, and then, with a rare condescension, asked, "Do you want a beating?"

If anyone else heard this, they would definitely get angry and think it was an insult. However, Xiangqin was different. She was very generous to those she liked. Upon hearing this, she grinned cunningly and said, "No, I'm definitely not the one who deserves a beating."
