Ren Yaoqi was unsure of Xiao Jingxi's attitude, and the two of them remained silent. Fortunately, the door to the west wing opened at this moment, and two girls appeared at the door.
One was Zhu Ruoju, the younger sister of Zhu Ruomei who had gone to pay her respects to Ren Yaoqi, and the one peeking behind her was Shui Ai, the little granddaughter of Mrs. Luo.
When Zhu Ruoju saw Ren Yaoqi's face, she immediately ran over with Shui Ai and said happily, "Fifth Miss, you're here?"
Ren Yaoqi smiled and nodded, looking at Shui Ai, who looked a little curious and a little frightened.
"Miss Wu, Miss Wu." Shui Ai was no longer as lively as she was the last time she saw Ren Yaoqi, and was a little nervous.
"Come into the house first." Xiao Jingxi turned and looked at Ren Yaoqi.
Ren Yaoqi sighed lightly and nodded.
"Miss, Mrs. Luo is in the west wing. Do you want to see her now?" Zhu Ruomei said.
Ren Yaoqi nodded. This was the purpose of her coming here today.
So Zhu Ruomei led people into the house.
As soon as the door was opened, Ren Yaoqi smelled a hint of medicine. Mrs. Luo was lying on the bed because of her injuries, and there was an old woman sitting next to her.
Mrs. Luo was not asleep. She looked over when she heard the noise and was startled. The old woman sitting on the edge of the bed immediately stood up. When she saw Ren Yaoqi, she was surprised and happy. She hurried forward to greet her, "Is this Miss Ren Wu?"
Ren Yaoqi smiled and nodded: "Sister-in-law Zhu." Ren Yaoqi could tell from her facial features that this very old-looking woman was the mother of Zhu Ruomei and Zhu Ruoju.
Sister-in-law Zhu hurriedly pulled her daughter to kneel down and kowtow, but Ren Yaoqi quickly reached out to stop them.
Sister Zhu wanted to thank Ren Yaoqi for saving her life, but Ren Yaoqi was unwilling to accept her gift and tried to persuade her to stop.
"Mother, please take my sister and this girl to make some tea." Zhu Ruomei knew that Ren Yaoqi came here today for something, so she sent her mother and sister out.
Zhu's wife walked away, holding one of their daughters in each hand. Zhu Ruomei thought for a moment and retreated to the door. Although Xiao Jingxi remained silent, he didn't leave either.
Ren Yaoqi glanced at him and walked up to Mrs. Luo.
"What is your relationship with the Zhai family?" Ren Yaoqi's voice was calm and gentle, but it frightened Mrs. Luo so much that her face turned pale and she almost rolled off the bed. Then she looked at Ren Yaoqi in amazement.
Ren Yaoqi said this directly, and seeing Mrs. Luo's reaction, there was no doubt in her mind.
So she sat down on the chair in front of the bed. The chair was made of ordinary beech wood and had no cushion or cover on it, but Ren Yaoqi still sat there dignified and confident.
"Miss Fifth, Fifth Miss, I, your servant..." Mrs. Luo looked really scared, and her lips were trembling.
Ren Yaoqi sighed softly: "Now the Han family knows of your existence."
Mrs. Luo seemed to remember something that frightened her and shuddered again.
At that moment, the door creaked open, and Ren Yaoqi turned around to see Zhu Ruomei quietly retreat. However, Xiao Jingxi continued to sit leisurely at the eight-immortal table to the side, not taking the initiative to leave. Ren Yaoqi couldn't chase him away, and didn't know what he was thinking, so he could only pretend not to see it.
"Miss Wu, Miss Wu, can you please save my granddaughter?" Mrs. Luo cried for a long time.
