Chapter 111 Xiao Jinglin (3/3)

Xiao Jinglin's teahouse is just to the right of the carriage and looks quite respectable.

Ren Yaoqi did not object. He asked Dongsheng to go to the back to call Pingguo over, and asked the others to follow Sangzhen to wait in the teahouse.

After a while, the apple was put on the carriage and the carriage continued to move forward.

After a short while, the carriage finally stopped and Xiao Jinglin was the first to get off.

Pingguo got off the carriage before Ren Yaoqi and asked him to turn around and help Ren Yaoqi. Ren Yaoqi found that they had entered a relatively narrow alley. The alley was very deep and long, but it could only barely accommodate one carriage. It was only because of Dongsheng's superb skills that they could enter smoothly.

As soon as Ren Yaoqi got off the carriage, he smelled a strong aroma of braised food.

It turned out that in front of the carriage was a shop selling braised donkey meat. The shop didn't look big and didn't even have a formal plaque. There was only a piece of cloth curtain supported by a bamboo pole, with the three words "Braised Donkey Meat" written on it in neat and unremarkable words.

After getting off the carriage, Xiao Jinglin walked straight into the store. Just as he entered, he remembered that Ren Yaoqi was still behind him, so he turned around and came out, waving at Ren Yaoqi: "Come in, this is it."

Because it wasn't dinner time yet and the shop wasn't very eye-catching, there weren't many people around. Seeing Ren Yaoqi approaching, Xiao Jinglin turned back to his own path, but walked a little slower.

After entering, Ren Yaoqi discovered that although the store was not big, it was very neat and clean. There were only four wooden tables in the front, and some wild flowers and grasses that he couldn't name were placed in clay pots on the tables, which added a bit of fun.

The curtain in the inner room was lifted, and a woman in her forties came out. Seeing Xiao Jinglin and Ren Yaoqi coming in, she hurriedly stepped forward to greet them with a smile.

Xiao Jinglin said to her, "Put the table in the backyard."

The woman responded quickly and turned to call out to the inner room.

A woman about twenty years old with a woman's hairstyle came out with a seven-year-old boy.

The woman asked the young woman to set the table in the backyard.

The boy's eyes lit up when he saw Xiao Jinglin, and he immediately ran over: "General, you're here. This morning, when my sister-in-law and I went to pick flowers, we also picked some fresh mushrooms. My mother will make you some soup later."

Ren Yaoqi looked at Xiao Jinglin in surprise. Xiao Jinglin knew him?

The woman came over and patted his head gently, saying in a scolding voice, "Why don't you go and set the table with your sister-in-law? Don't scare the guests."

Only then did the boy see Ren Yaoqi behind Xiao Jinglin. He was not shy and grinned at Ren Yaoqi.

Xiao Jinglin said to him: "I have passed the exam, but I am not a general."

The boy said stubbornly, "You will! When you become a general, I will follow you to the battlefield like my father!"

The woman's face darkened. She grabbed the boy's ear and pulled him aside. "Mo Liang, have you finished practicing your calligraphy today? Are you going to imitate your father and not even recognize a single character?"

Mo Liang grimaced, wanting to cry out in pain, but seeing Xiao Jinglin's presence, he forced himself to hold it back, muttering, "What's the point of knowing how to read? Didn't we hire the fortune teller at the entrance of the alley to write our sign? Why do you need me to learn how to read? We don't need ten signs for our shop."
