Fu Xingzhou didn't listen to the whole thing and left immediately.
Li Susu sighed softly, her tone tinged with conflict.
"Second brother, actually, I think I like him too, but..."
The person on the other end of the phone was Li Susu's second brother, Li Yulin.
When Li Yulin heard that she was going to stay at Rose Villa that night, he was a little worried, so he made this phone call.
However, the topics that Li Yulin brought up made Li Susu somewhat conflicted.
"Is there any need to hesitate about whether I like it or not?"
“Susu, you’re not a child anymore. I think Xingzhou is a pretty good man. If you want to give it a try, your second brother will support you.”
Li Susu gave a wry smile. "Second brother, let's forget about it. This isn't the time to talk about personal matters."
"Let's secure the project cooperation first. It's getting late, I'm going to rest now."
Li Susu felt a little dizzy after drinking some alcohol tonight.
Seeing this, Li Yulin stopped nagging and only reminded him to be careful before hanging up the phone.
Li Susu returned to her room and tossed and turned in bed.
Just as she was unable to sleep, she suddenly heard some strange noises coming from next door.
Li Susu listened intently, her face instantly turning bright red.
These strange sounds sounded a lot like the moans and soft groans that men and women make during lovemaking...
And living next door were Fu Xingzhou and Bai Weiwei.
Li Susu's face immediately darkened, and she muttered a couple of curses.
"Fu Xingzhou, you scumbag!"
"He keeps talking about breaking off the engagement, but actually he still..."
Li Susu was a little angry, so she simply turned on the light and found a movie to watch.
I turned the volume up to the maximum, just to drown out the noise from next door.
But next door, Bai Weiwei was all alone.
After leaving the flower hall, Fu Xingzhou disappeared without a trace.
She was alone in her room, and thinking of Li Susu next door, she decided to find a way to get back at that bitch.
Sure enough, I heard the sound of a movie playing next door.
Bai Weiwei scoffed and turned off the recorder beside her.
She turned off the light and quickly fell asleep.
With a "snap," the light in Li Susu's room suddenly went out, startling her.
If it weren't for the still-bright light from the phone screen, she would have jumped up in fright.
Is there a power outage?
Li Susu frowned, recalling the heavy rain that afternoon.
This place is located halfway up a mountain, and the power outage was likely caused by the rain.
It's not exactly a rare thing.
"Bang bang—"
A moment later, Li Susu heard a knock on the door and a maid's soft greeting.
"Miss Li, the power is out at the resort. Mr. Yu asked me to bring you a candle."
Li Susu opened the door and, sure enough, saw the maid holding a lit candle.
"Miss Li, I apologize for disturbing you."
Li Susu thanked her and took the candle.
The light in the room made Li Susu feel much more at ease.
As the candle burned, a barely perceptible scent gradually spread throughout the room.
Li Susu lay in bed, feeling parched and wanting to drink water.
She got up, but there wasn't a drop of tea in the room.
Left with no other choice, she had to go out to find water to drink.
The air was cool in the dead of night. As soon as Li Susu went outside, she shivered and her mind cleared up a bit.
She thought it was because she had drunk too much that night, little did she know that something else had been added to the candles that were delivered.
