Chapter 218 Important Matters

Fu Xingzhou knelt in the ancestral hall all night. Fu Yan had instructed that no one was allowed to let him out.

Despite the wound on his back, he endured the pain until his eyes were bloodshot, and only when dawn was breaking did the butler help him up.

"Young master, please get up and go back to your room to apply the medicine."

The butler's voice trembled slightly as he looked at Fu Xingzhou's disheveled appearance, feeling a pang of pity.

Fu Xingzhou remained silent, and staggered slightly as he stood up.

Luckily, someone helped him up, otherwise he would have knelt down again.

"Young Master, are you alright?"

"Quickly, someone come and help the young master to his room!"

Fu Xingzhou swayed, gritting his teeth to hold on, and managed not to faint immediately.

Seeing her son so badly injured, Shen Ronghua cursed Fu Yan, that old bastard, for hitting her too hard, while also calling the family doctor over to apply medicine with heartache.

After entering the room and applying some medicine, Fu Xingzhou's complexion looked somewhat better.

These wounds were fine and numerous, and the pain lasted all night; an ordinary person would certainly not be able to endure such suffering.

Shen Ronghua was heartbroken and tears streamed down her face. She sat on the edge of the bed, sighing repeatedly.

"Xingzhou, couldn't you have just backed down yesterday? Now look what happened, you're all injured!"

"Your dad has never been this angry before, even when you were a child. Is it worth it for Li Susu?"

"What kind of bewitching potion did this little bitch give you?"

Fu Xingzhou frowned, unwilling to listen to his mother's complaints, and simply closed his eyes.

“Madam, let’s go out first. Young Master has been kneeling all night and needs to rest.”

The housekeeper couldn't stand it any longer and spoke up.

Shen Ronghua then stopped talking, wiped away her tears, and left.

Fu Xingzhou quickly fell asleep in a daze.

However, the wound on his back was still throbbing, making it difficult for him to sleep soundly.

The events that occurred at the Fu family's old residence were kept very secret by those inside; no one would casually reveal them.

Fu Xingzhou was quite reassured about this.

If Li Susu knew about this, she would probably laugh at him.

Li Susu quickly resolved the bidding process.

The latest bids have all been submitted; now we just have to wait for the results.

Li Susu sighed and glanced at the time.

She left work early today and returned to Haoluyuan.

Seeing that the doorway next door was empty, he knew that Fu Xingzhou had not returned yet.

Li Susu felt a little flustered. Even though the thorny issues at hand had been resolved, why did she still feel uneasy?

Could it be that something happened to Fu Xingzhou?

The thought flashed through her mind, but Li Susu shook her head and gave a bitter smile.

"Nonsense. In City C, who can touch Fu Xingzhou?"

Li Susu murmured a couple of words and then went inside the house.

As night fell, Li Susu still didn't see the car next door return.

She was wearing pajamas and frowning.

"It's so late, this shouldn't be happening..."

Having been neighbors for so long, Li Susu had never seen Fu Xingzhou stay out all night.

Besides, if he doesn't go back here, why would he go live in the old house?

Li Susu wasn't very clear about the internal relationships within the Fu family; these were just guesses.

"Forget it, I'll just go to the Fu family tomorrow and find him. I really need to thank him properly for this."

Li Susu waited a while longer before going to rest.

The next morning, Li Susu went directly to the Fu family, but did not see Fu Xingzhou.

"Mr. Fu has been working from home recently. Mr. Li, is there anything important you need to discuss with Mr. Fu?"
