The woman looked up and saw the well-dressed woman at the door. She quickly got up to greet her.
"Is this President Li?"
Bai Weiwei smirked, her eyes behind her sunglasses revealing disdain.
However, she quickly recovered and gave a cold smile.
"President Li? It seems Li Susu hasn't come to visit much, has she?"
The woman frowned, realizing then that it wasn't Li Susu.
Since Li Susu came once on the night of the incident, it has been her assistant who has been visiting and inquiring about her.
They always bring some nutritional supplements, which is very thoughtful.
"You're not President Li? Then who are you? What do you want with my husband, Lao Wu?"
The woman was clearly not very educated, and her speech was somewhat rough.
Bai Weiwei waved to her, "Your man is still resting, why don't we go outside and talk?"
Wu Xiong was staying in a VIP ward, which had an outer room.
The woman hesitated for a moment, then followed her out, looking at Bai Weiwei with curiosity.
"Are you the owner of some company? Are you here to see my husband, Lao Wu?"
Bai Weiwei waved her hand, but did not take off her sunglasses.
She certainly didn't want the other person to remember what she looked like.
"I did come to visit Engineer Wu. He was a well-known contractor in City C, but unfortunately, he's now lying in a hospital bed."
"Looking like this, he probably won't be able to go out to work and earn money anymore, right?"
"I heard that Li Susu lost money, but is the amount she lost really more than what Engineer Wu earned?"
The woman's face immediately turned ugly upon hearing Bai Weiwei's divisive words.
"What can we do? All I hope now is that Lao Wu can get through this safely and not just leave us, a widow and her children."
The woman made a gesture as if to wipe away tears.
Bai Weiwei smiled and said, "Don't cry, crying won't solve anything."
"The issues with the suburban projects have all been resolved, and everything is back on track."
"If I were you, I would pull Li Susu aside and talk to her about compensation."
The woman paused for a moment, then looked at Bai Weiwei with some suspicion.
"Who are you? Why are you telling me all this?"
"He's just a kind-hearted person. Whether you listen to him or not is up to you. I just couldn't stand by and watch."
"The Li Group is so rich. Once the suburban project is completed, the money it can earn in a day will be enough for your old Wu to work hard for a lifetime."
"It's a pity. The richer people are, the stingier they are. Engineer Wu has risked his life for the Li Group, but this is all he gets in return."
Bai Weiwei clicked her tongue twice, her tone becoming increasingly sarcastic.
"Mr. Wu is a good person, it's a pity he met such an unscrupulous boss."
The woman grew increasingly angry, provoked by Bai Weiwei, and her face darkened completely.
“You’re right, but how can ordinary people like us fight against the Li Group?”
"It's possible that no one will continue to pay for Lao Wu's medical expenses."
Bai Weiwei sneered, "Big sister, don't forget, this is the age of the internet. If Li Susu refuses to compensate you properly, you can just find a few reporters to expose her, right?"
"Right now, the Li Group is in the eye of the storm. If a scandal breaks out, do you think Li Susu will disagree with your proposal?"
Bai Weiwei watched as the woman's gaze gradually turned sinister before she finally stood up, satisfied.
Before leaving, he added two more sentences.
"As long as you have money, you'll never have to worry about food or drink for the rest of your life, and your children won't suffer either, right?"
The woman was lost in her own world. When she finally made up her mind and looked up, she found that Bai Weiwei had already disappeared.
