Chapter 350 Misunderstandings Arise Again

If Bai Mian wanted revenge, he would definitely cause trouble for the Li family.

Fu Xingzhou couldn't let Li Susu fall into such a predicament, so he had no choice but to agree to Bai Weiwei's request to meet, hoping to resolve the situation quickly.

But clearly, Bai Weiwei didn't think that way.

Fu Xingzhou grew impatient and made a move to leave.

Bai Weiwei panicked when she saw this.

If Fu Xingzhou were to publicly dissolve the engagement now, the Bai family would be completely ruined.

She had to find a way to buy time.

"Xingzhou..." Bai Weiwei's voice trembled with tears, "I know you don't love me, and I know you despise me to the extreme..."

She lowered her head, tears dripping onto the table, spreading out in circles of water stains.

"Since the annulment of the engagement is already a done deal..."

"Then I only ask that you announce it to the public later..." she choked, barely able to utter a complete sentence, "at least until this turmoil in the Bai family has passed..."

"Otherwise, our family will really be finished..."

"I'm finished too..."

Looking at Bai Weiwei's feigned weakness, Fu Xingzhou felt only disgust.

He stood up and looked down at her.

"Bai Weiwei, this is my last warning to you: behave yourself."

"Otherwise, I wouldn't mind making you disappear completely."

After saying that, Fu Xingzhou turned and left without a trace of regret.

Unbeknownst to him, a second before he left the coffee shop, Li Susu stumbled back to the villa.

The villa was pitch black and eerily quiet.

Li Susu stumbled to the sofa in the dark and slumped down helplessly.

Scenes from the coffee shop kept replaying in my mind.

She hugged her arms tightly, her body trembling slightly, and tears silently streamed down her face, soaking her clothes.

After an unknown amount of time, the sound of a car engine came from outside the villa.

Fu Xingzhou is back.

He found the villa completely dark and assumed that Li Susu was already asleep, so he didn't disturb her and turned back to his own villa next door.

In the following days, Li Susu mostly stayed at the company, trying to numb herself with work.

That day, Li Susu was in a meeting.

The meeting room door was pushed open, and the assistant rushed in, whispering a few words in her ear.

Li Susu's expression changed, and she stood up and said, "The meeting is adjourned. I'm going out for a bit."

She walked quickly to her office, picked up her phone, and sent a text message to Fu Xingzhou: "In a meeting."

After sending the message, she took a deep breath, trying to calm her flustered emotions.

Fu Xingzhou frowned slightly as he looked at the brief reply on his phone.

He put down his phone and continued working on the documents, but a vague unease lingered in his heart.

In the evening, Fu Xingzhou drove to Li Susu's villa as usual.

As before, no one answered the doorbell when I rang it.

Fu Xingzhou had no choice but to ask Li Susu's secretary, and learned that she had attended a business dinner that evening.

Is it really because I'm too busy with work?

Fu Xingzhou thought about it, but he vaguely felt that something was wrong.

In the past, if Li Susu had something to do, she would always tell him in advance.

Is she angry because I didn't come home for dinner last night?

He returned home, stood on the balcony, and stared intently at the villa next door.

As night deepened, the streetlights cast long shadows of the trees.

Finally, a familiar car drove into the neighboring yard.

Fu Xingzhou's heart tightened, and he immediately went out.

He practically jogged over there.

Just as Li Susu was about to close the door, he grabbed the doorknob.

The door opened.

Li Susu stood there, her cheeks flushed an unnatural red, her eyes somewhat unfocused.

A faint smell of alcohol wafted over; she was clearly drunk.
