Chapter 361 Investigation

"Speak." His voice was deep, carrying an undeniable air of authority.

"Mr. Fu, we've found a lead on the car accident." The assistant's voice carried a hint of excitement. "The driver who caused the accident booked a plane ticket for this afternoon and is preparing to flee the country."

Fu Xingzhou suddenly straightened up, his eyes instantly becoming sharp, like a drawn sword, its edge fully revealed.

"Immediately notify the airport to seal off all exits. We absolutely cannot let him escape!"

He gripped his phone tightly, his tone icy, tinged with suppressed anger.

Bai Weiwei sat in the living room of the Bai family villa, her fingers gripping her phone tightly, her knuckles turning white.

She was wrapped in a large black coat that almost covered her entire body, leaving only her pale face visible.

She wore sunglasses, which concealed her hateful eyes and the dark circles under them.

She barely slept for the past three days.

That damn driver, like a death knell, kept calling to demand money.

She gave him almost all the cash she had available, but it still couldn't fill this bottomless pit of greed.

"Wait a little longer, wait a little longer..." she murmured softly, her voice trembling slightly.

With great difficulty, she finally persuaded the driver to leave this afternoon.

She agreed to give him one-third of the reward, and the rest would be transferred to him after he landed safely.

Although she knew it was just a delaying tactic.

But she had nowhere else to turn.

She has to take a gamble.

Thinking of Li Susu losing her child and her fate unknown, Bai Weiwei's lips curled into a cold smile.

She stood up and picked up a black handbag that was on the sofa.

The bag contained her last remaining cash and a plane ticket to an overseas destination.

She's going to the airport.

She needed to see the driver leave with her own eyes before she could feel at ease.

She walked quickly toward the black car parked at the door.

I opened the car door and got in.

“To the airport,” she said to the driver, her voice hoarse, as if it came from hell.

The driver started the car and slowly drove away from the Bai family villa.

Bai Weiwei sat in the back seat of the car, the sweat on her palms soaking the leather of her handbag.

The airport was more heavily guarded than she had imagined, with armed police everywhere, and the atmosphere was so tense it was suffocating.

Her heart sank, and an ominous premonition arose within her.

Could it be... that things have been exposed?

Just then, a familiar figure flashed past her eyes.

Fu Xingzhou's assistant, the man who was always dressed in a suit and tie and had a blank expression.

Bai Weiwei's pupils suddenly contracted, and her heart felt as if it were being gripped tightly by an invisible hand.

She held her breath, trying to remain calm.

Getting off the bus now would be tantamount to walking into a trap.

She had to find a way to get out of there.

Her gaze fell through the car window on the furtive figure not far away.

The truck driver was about to cross the road.

He was wearing a baseball cap with the brim pulled low, almost completely obscuring his face.

He seemed very anxious, glancing around frequently as if searching for something.

A crazy idea flashed through Bai Weiwei's mind.

Rather than waiting to die, we should burn our bridges and take drastic measures.

"Hit him!" she yelled at the driver, her voice hoarse with tension.

The driver was stunned for a moment, clearly not expecting her to give such an order.

"Who...who did I hit?" he stammered, his eyes filled with fear.

“That man in the hat!” Bai Weiwei pointed at the truck driver, her tone leaving no room for argument.

The driver hesitated for a moment, but finally pressed the accelerator slowly.
