Across the ocean, in China.
It's been three years.
Fu Xingzhou's office was filled with smoke.
He held Li Susu's photo in his hand, his eyes filled with pain and longing.
For three years, he never gave up searching for Li Susu, using all the resources at his disposal, but to no avail.
"Susu, where are you?"
He murmured softly, his voice trembling slightly.
In the past three years, tremendous changes have taken place in China.
Bai Weiwei's imprisonment and the Bai family's bankruptcy were all orchestrated by Fu Xingzhou.
He punished the woman who hurt Li Susu with the most ruthless means, in order to quell the anger of the Li brothers.
Li Yulin and Li Susu had a very close relationship. After learning that his sister had gone missing, he almost went mad.
He blamed all the responsibility on Fu Xingzhou, believing that he had failed to protect his sister.
If Fu Xingzhou hadn't intervened in time, the Li brothers might have really turned against him.
The Li family is currently under the temporary control of Li Yulin.
But he never changed the president's name.
At the highest level of the Li Group, the president's name is still Li Susu.
He stubbornly believed that his sister was still alive and would return one day.
On Li Yulin's desk, there was also a photo of Li Susu.
He looks at the photos every day and calls out his sister's name over and over again.
"Susu, where are you? Your brother misses you so much..."
His voice choked with emotion, and his eyes reddened.
At that moment, Li Susu was carrying her luggage through the airport when she seemed to hear someone calling her sadly. Her heart skipped a beat, and she subconsciously looked up at the sky.
But she quickly attributed this to her fear of returning home.
After three years, she is finally going back to China.
Upon entering first class, Li Susu immediately spotted Chen Ke sitting by the window and exclaimed in surprise, "Ah!"
Chen Ke was flipping through a magazine when he heard the noise. He looked up and gave a gentle smile.
"Mr. Chen, what a coincidence." Li Susu was slightly surprised and walked to her seat.
"Unfortunately, I was waiting for you here." Chen Ke put down the magazine and looked at her with gentle eyes.
"Wait for me?" Li Susu frowned slightly, puzzled.
“I also have some business in China, but I haven’t managed it for a long time,” Chen Ke said casually. “This time, I’ll go back with you to take a look.”
He paused for a moment, then continued, "If there's anything I can help with regarding our cooperation with CN, I'll be happy to assist you promptly."
A thought struck Li Susu; she keenly realized that Chen Ke's trip to China this time was not just for business.
He was also worried about himself.
Over the past three years, Chen Ke has not only provided her with a lot of help in her career, but also taken great care of her in her life.
He was like an older brother, a friend, silently protecting her.
“Chen Ke, you don’t have to go to such lengths,” Li Susu said sincerely. “You’ve helped me so much over the past three years.”
Chen Ke said, "I'm willing, as long as you're happy."
Li Susu never knew how to respond to Chen Ke's kindness, and avoidance had become a habit.
She lowered her eyes slightly, her long eyelashes concealing the complex emotions in them.
Deep down, she was grateful for Chen Ke's companionship and care, but she could never quite accept his kindness.
This gratitude was mixed with an inexplicable sense of guilt.
She knew that Chen Ke's feelings for her had long since transcended the boundaries of ordinary friendship.
But she could only pretend not to know.
