Chen Ke was led by the butler through winding corridors and flower-lined paths.
The air was filled with a rich, sweet rose scent that was almost cloying.
At first, he enjoyed the scenery of the villa with great interest, but as time went by, a sense of unease gradually spread.
He found that the scenery around him was becoming more and more similar, as if he were going around in circles.
He stopped and looked back; the path he had come from had disappeared into a sea of roses.
He got lost.
The villa was like an elaborately designed maze, trapping him inside.
Chen Ke cursed inwardly, wondering if the butler had brought him here on purpose.
He called out to the butler who was leading the way, "Where are we going? Why aren't we there yet?"
The butler stopped and turned back to him with an apologetic smile. "Mr. Chen, I'm sorry, this resort is too big, and I've gotten a little lost."
Chen Ke sneered inwardly; this excuse was far too clumsy.
He suppressed his dissatisfaction and said, "Take me back to find Arno right away."
The butler nodded somewhat embarrassedly, "Yes, Mr. Chen, please follow me."
He turned and continued walking forward, with Chen Ke following behind him, but becoming even more wary.
After walking for a while, they arrived at a beautifully decorated restaurant.
The butler stopped and said to Chen Ke, "Mr. Chen, please wait here for a moment."
Chen Ke frowned, his unease growing stronger.
He felt that something was wrong, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
He looked around; the restaurant was empty, with only the exquisite tableware and decorations lying there quietly.
He took a deep breath and tried to stay calm.
Since we're already here, we can only wait and see.
Time passed second by second, and Chen Ke's patience gradually wore thin.
He paced anxiously back and forth in the restaurant, glancing at the door every now and then, hoping to see Li Susu and Yu Xin appear.
Finally, the restaurant door was pushed open, and Yu Xin walked in gracefully.
She wore her usual charming smile, as if nothing had happened.
Chen Ke immediately went to greet him, "President Yu, where's Arno?"
His tone carried a hint of anxiety and accusation.
Yu Xin chuckled softly, walked gracefully to the dining table, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
"Don't worry, Mr. Chen, Arno is soaking in the hot springs in the back mountains." She spoke softly, as if she were talking about something perfectly ordinary.
Chen Ke frowned. The back mountain? A hot spring?
“I’m going to the back mountain too.” He said firmly, showing no intention of backing down.
Yu Xin covered her mouth and chuckled, her eyes sparkling with a hint of teasing. "President Chen, the men's and women's hot springs are separate, you know. Are you trying to act like a pervert?"
Chen Ke was speechless at her sudden teasing and didn't know how to refute it for a moment.
He took a deep breath, trying to suppress his agitation. "President Yu, what is the purpose of inviting us here today?"
Yu Xin smiled slightly and corrected, "I only invited President Chen Nuo, the president of CN Financial. I'm very curious about her and want to make friends with her."
She paused, giving Chen Ke a meaningful look, her tone slightly mocking, "But of course, I welcome a handsome man like Mr. Chen."
She chuckled a few more times, her words carrying a hint of flirtation that made Chen Ke feel somewhat uncomfortable.
He loosened his tie impatiently, trying to ease the awkward atmosphere.
