Chapter 431 Exposing One's True Colors

Li Susu turned around resolutely and walked towards the door of the ward without looking back.

As Fu Xingzhou watched her departing figure, his heart felt as if it were being gripped tightly by an invisible hand, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.

He sensed that something was amiss.

How could Chen Ke have gotten into a car accident for no reason?

He immediately instructed his assistant: "Go check the situation of the vehicle that caused the accident. Also, I need the surveillance footage from the vicinity of the accident scene."

The assistant accepted the order and left.

Soon, the assistant returned, looking rather grim.

"Mr. Fu, the vehicle involved in the accident has no problems whatsoever. The brakes and accelerator are all working properly, and..."

The assistant hesitated for a moment before continuing, "The incident occurred in a relatively remote area with no surveillance cameras."

Fu Xingzhou's face darkened; it seemed things were more complicated than he had imagined.

"Then find eyewitnesses, and also check all the vehicles that passed through that section of road before and after the incident."

Fu Xingzhou's voice was deep and carried an undeniable air of authority.

Over the next few days, Fu Xingzhou devoted almost all his energy to investigating the matter.

A few days later, Li Yulin brought some news.

“Xingzhou, we found a driver who was passing through that section of road when the incident occurred.”

Li Yulin's tone was somewhat serious.

Fu Xingzhou immediately asked, "What did the driver say?"

Li Yulin sighed: "The driver said he didn't see clearly at the time, he only saw that the car crashed into the guardrail by itself, and no other vehicles collided with it."

He paused, then continued, "He also said that after the accident, he wanted to help call the police, but he saw a man in a black suit get out of the car and seem to be dealing with the scene, so he left without getting involved."

Fu Xingzhou's pupils contracted sharply. A man in a black suit...

He instantly realized that this was all a play directed and acted by Chen Ke!

This man, in order to keep Li Susu by his side, actually resorted to such extreme methods to frame her!

Fu Xingzhou clenched his fists tightly, and the veins on the back of his hands bulged.

Li Chenglin was also furious: "That Chen Ke is really too vicious!"

Li Yulin was equally indignant: "To achieve their goal, they are willing to hurt themselves. Such a person should never stay by Su Su's side!"

Fu Xingzhou took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.

"The problem now is that Su Su trusts Chen Ke a lot, and even if we put this evidence in front of her, she won't believe it."

He paused, a glint of shrewdness flashing in his eyes.

"We can't act rashly. We need to think of a way to make Chen Ke slip up on his own."

The three of them came up with a plan: to patiently wait for Chen Ke to recover.

Taking advantage of Li Susu's absence from the hospital, Li Chenglin pushed open the door to the ward.

Chen Ke was lying half-reclined on the hospital bed, his face pale, but he could not hide the shrewdness in his eyes.

When he saw Li Chenglin enter, a barely perceptible hint of wariness flashed in his eyes.

"Mr. Li, is there anything I can help you with?"

Li Chenglin pulled up a chair and sat down beside the hospital bed, speaking calmly.

"Chen Ke, I'd like to talk to you about Su Su."

“Susu is my sister, and I want her to be healthy and safe more than anyone else.”

He paused, looking directly into Chen Ke's eyes.

"So, I can put the surgery on hold for now."

Upon hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Chen Ke's eyes, but he quickly concealed it.

"Mr. Li, are you telling the truth?"

Li Chenglin nodded solemnly.

"Chen Ke, I'm asking you, are your feelings for Su Su genuine?"

Chen Ke was stunned for a moment.

"My love for Arnold is as clear as the sun and the moon!"

Li Chenglin raised his hand to interrupt his slightly exaggerated statement.

“I know you are Su Su’s savior and also the benefactor of our Li family.”

"If you can promise me that you will treat her well in the future, I, as the older brother, will not necessarily break them up."

A glint of wild joy flashed in Chen Ke's eyes, and he immediately made a solemn promise.

"Don't worry! I swear to God, if I ever treat Susu badly in the future, may I..."

Li Chenglin interrupted him again, his tone carrying a hint of warning.

"No need for oaths, I believe what you say."

He paused for a moment, as if he was thinking about something.

“You know Su Su’s current condition. Since your doctor recommends that she return to China for treatment, I agree, but I will go with you.”

Chen Ke's eyes flickered.

After all, Li Chenglin is a famous doctor, and if he wanted to do anything more, it would be extremely difficult.

"Mr. Li, this... isn't it a bit inconvenient?"

Li Chenglin smiled, his tone gentle yet unquestionable.

"Inconvenient? Not only am I going, but I'm also going to formally hand Su Su over to you as her older brother."

“My sister has amnesia and doesn’t remember many things. As her older brother, I can only feel at ease when I see her happy.”

Chen Ke forced a smile.

"President Li, you've really put a lot of thought into this."

Li Chenglin stood up and patted him on the shoulder.

"I believe you, Chen Ke."
