She glanced down and saw a dazzling ruby necklace around her neck.
The ruby sparkled brilliantly under the light, making her skin appear even whiter and more radiant.
Li Susu was stunned and for a moment forgot to react.
What does this mean?
She looked up at Fu Xingzhou with a complicated expression.
Fu Xingzhou took a step back, admiring Li Susu's current appearance, his smile deepening.
"It's just right."
His tone was firm.
A hint of annoyance flashed across Li Susu's face.
She dislikes feeling controlled, especially in matters of the heart.
"Fu Xingzhou, you've been far too presumptuous!"
Her tone was firm, tinged with anger.
"I can handle my own affairs; I don't need you to interfere!"
She reached out and tried to take off the necklace.
Fu Xingzhou stepped forward and suddenly softened his tone.
"Don't move."
His voice was deep and gentle, with a hint of barely perceptible pleading.
"This necklace was originally meant for you."
He paused, a complex emotion flashing in his deep eyes.
"I've been waiting for three years."
Three years?
Li Susu was taken aback and looked up at him, puzzled.
Their eyes met, and something seemed to be quietly growing in the air.
Fu Xingzhou bent down, and the distance between the two instantly closed.
His warm breath gently sprayed onto her cheek, bringing a tingling sensation.
"Su Su," he called softly, his tone ambiguous, tinged with a hint of restraint, "Don't take it off."
Su Su.
The way they addressed each other was so intimate and natural, as if they had known each other for a very long time.
Li Susu's heart began to pound uncontrollably, and a strange feeling spread through her.
For some reason, she couldn't even utter a word of rebuttal.
She seemed to be affected by Fu Xingzhou's emotions as well.
The lounge was quiet, with only the sound of their breathing clearly audible.
After a moment, Li Susu finally regained her senses and tried to distance herself from Fu Xingzhou.
Why did you come?
She forced herself to calm down, and her tone returned to its usual coolness.
Fu Xingzhou straightened up, a helpless smile in his eyes.
"This is a dinner to announce your return home, and I can't possibly not come."
"I just didn't want to see you, that's why I haven't shown myself."
Li Susu's heart trembled slightly; she hadn't expected Fu Xingzhou to say such a thing.
She didn't want to stay here any longer, nor to continue this inexplicable "flirting."
"I should go downstairs now."
Her tone was calm, yet carried an undeniable firmness.
"After all, I am the host of this dinner."
Li Susu turned to leave, but Fu Xingzhou's words stopped her in her tracks.
"Don't you want to know the truth behind Chen Ke's accident?"
Li Susu stopped in her tracks and abruptly turned her head.
He stared intently at Fu Xingzhou, his tone icy.
"What's the meaning?"
"Could it be... that the car accident had nothing to do with you?"
Fu Xingzhou chuckled and asked in return.
What benefit would I gain from causing him an accident?
“Once you regain your memories, you will definitely choose me, not him.”
"After all, I know all of you."
"And Chen Nuo, whom Chen Ke has known for the past three years, has always been a hedgehog with sharp quills, a disguise and a mask, not yourself."
Li Susu stood there in shock, speechless for a moment.
Fu Xingzhou pressed on relentlessly, his tone low and firm.
"What he saw was only the tip of the iceberg."
"He doesn't know what the real Li Susu is like."
Li Susu fell silent.
Fu Xingzhou is right.
For the past three years, the person named Chen Nuo has been her disguise.
Seeing her lost in thought, Fu Xingzhou moved closer again and asked teasingly, "Am I right?"
Li Susu blinked and smiled gently, "So what if I'm right?"
"This does not prove that the car accident was unrelated to you."
Fu Xingzhou smiled: "Su Su, you'll soon find out the truth."
