Li Susu slammed the report shut, her fingertips turning white from the force.
“I have known Chen Ke for three years and I have never seen him show any signs of extremism.”
She raised her head and stared sharply at Fu Xingzhou.
"Since you have evidence to prove the car accident wasn't caused by someone, why are you only presenting it now?"
She suddenly stood up and walked up to the middle-aged man.
"You said you saw Chen Ke's car crash into the guardrail with your own eyes?"
The man was intimidated by Li Susu's imposing manner and repeated the words somewhat haltingly.
"Yes...yes, I saw it with my own eyes..."
Li Susu pressed closer, her eyes sharp.
"What were you doing at the time? How far away were you from the accident site? Did you see what was happening inside the car?"
Fine beads of sweat appeared on the man's forehead.
"I...I wasn't too far away at the time, maybe...maybe ten meters away. It was too dark inside the car, I couldn't see clearly..."
Li Susu sneered and turned to look at Fu Xingzhou.
"More than ten meters? Can't you see what's inside the car?"
Her tone was sarcastic.
"Fu Xingzhou, isn't the witness you found far too unprofessional?"
Her eyes were cold, and her tone was firm.
"Tell me, how much money did you give him to commit perjury?"
"No...no, Miss, you've misunderstood!" The witness hurriedly waved his hands, beads of sweat dripping down his face, as if he was about to cry at any moment.
"Mr. Fu did give me money, but it was compensation for lost wages!"
"It's so late, and I've waited here for so long. I should at least get some compensation, right?"
"This...this makes perfect sense!"
He explained hastily, his eyes darting around, not daring to meet Li Susu's sharp gaze.
Fu Xingzhou stepped forward, his tone calm and steady.
“Susu, if you don’t believe me, you can check his account and see if there is a large amount of extra income, or if his family has received any benefits.”
"These things can't be faked."
Li Susu fell silent, her gaze shifting from the witness to Fu Xingzhou's face, her expression complex and unreadable.
Fu Xingzhou waved his hand, indicating that the witness could leave.
The man felt as if he had been granted a pardon and fled the private room as if he were escaping.
In the huge coffee shop, only Li Susu and Fu Xingzhou remained.
A subtle tension filled the air.
Fu Xingzhou looked at Li Susu, a hint of inquiry in his deep eyes.
"Susu, do you refuse to believe it, or are you afraid to believe it?"
"Do you find it unbelievable that a man would go to such lengths to keep you by his side?"
Li Susu was stung by his words, and her eyes flickered.
She took a deep breath and tried to stay calm.
"Did you go through all this trouble just to expose Chen Ke's true colors?"
Her tone was calm, revealing no emotional fluctuation.
"No matter what, it was Chen Ke who saved me back then."
"Even if it's true, I can understand."
“Heh,” Fu Xingzhou chuckled lightly, with a hint of mockery, “Su Su, you still don’t believe the evidence I provided.”
"Otherwise, you would have taken this report to question Chen Ke long ago and turned against him, wouldn't you?"
Li Susu was startled and looked at Fu Xingzhou in surprise. He actually... saw through Jiu's heart so clearly.
Fu Xingzhou's deep eyes were fixed on Li Susu.
Even if you lose your memory, your personality won't change.
"Deception is a matter of principle for you, and it's something you can't tolerate."
His tone was firm.
Li Susu was speechless for a moment; she really couldn't refute it.
Seeing her silence, Fu Xingzhou softened his tone slightly.
"If you still have doubts, then go and do your own research."
"I believe you will get the truth you want."
He paused, glancing at his watch.
"It's getting late, I'll take you home."
Li Susu silently got up without refusing.
She's filled with questions right now and needs a quiet environment to think things through.
She followed Fu Xingzhou out of the coffee shop and got into his car.
