Chapter 673: Unbearable, No Need to Bear Anymore

Chapter 673: Unbearable, No Need to Bear Anymore

Lin Xingyao appeared at the door.

Suddenly her princess mansion was sealed off. Could it be that bitch Zhao Qingzhi found out something? She was wondering.

As soon as she stepped in and saw the scene in the hall, the calmness on her face froze instantly.

Mrs. Qi, who had just been sent away from the capital a few days ago, and her most capable nanny Cui and Hanxiang, all knelt on the ground like a puddle of mud.

Lin Xingyao's heart skipped a beat, and an ominous premonition came to her mind, but she remained calm.

"Father, Mother." She bowed softly. "It's so late. Is there something you want me to come here for?"

Her eyes subconsciously drifted towards Lin Jingchuan, trying to find some comfort from him.

But Lin Jingchuan kept his eyes down from beginning to end, not even giving her a glance.

Aunt Cui, who was kneeling on the ground, seemed to have seen a savior. She crawled over and hugged Lin Xingyao's legs.

"Princess! Princess, please save this old slave!" She cried bitterly, "The prince wants to execute us, please ask the prince for mercy!"

Lin Xingyao's face turned pale and she hurriedly tried to shake her off, but she still pretended to be innocent.

"Madam Cui, what nonsense are you talking about! Why did my father want to kill you? What did you do wrong?"

She placed all her hopes on Princess Yong. She turned around, walked a few steps to Princess Yong, grabbed her sleeve, and her voice was filled with tears.

"Mother, what happened? As soon as Xingyao came back, they knelt here and talked nonsense. My daughter is so scared."

Princess Yong slowly raised her head. Her eyes, once filled with love, were now filled with pain and disappointment. She looked at the beautiful face before her.

"Xingyao..." Her voice was trembling. "Tell me, mother, why did you want to harm the child in Zhao Qingzhi's belly?"

This wasn't a question, it was more like a plea, asking her to deny it.

Lin Xingyao's heart sank completely, but she still made a final struggle.

Her eyes turned red, tears welled up in an instant, and she was about to cry: "Mother, even you don't believe me anymore? I am your daughter, how could I do such a vicious thing!"

"That's my brother's child, my nephew. How could I harm him?"

"Shut up!" A stern shout came from Lin Jingchuan, who had been silent all this time.

He suddenly raised his head, his eyes full of bloodshot, and the disgust and hatred surging in them were like two sharp blades, piercing straight at Lin Xingyao.

"You're still pretending!"

Princess Yong trembled all over when she heard her son's roar. She looked at Lin Xingyao's pale and innocent face.

Aunt Cui's unbearable words echoed in her ears again. She could no longer hold on and suddenly shook off Lin Xingyao's hand with a shrill voice.

"How could you! How could you covet your own brother! You are siblings! How can I live with myself in the future? How can I face our ancestors? How could you harbor such a rebellious thought?"

With a bang, Lin Xingyao's brain completely exploded.

Coveting my brother? They know!

The color drained from her face in an instant. She staggered back a step, her lips trembling, unable to utter a word.

Prince Yong's cold gaze fell on her pale face, without a trace of warmth.

"Of course she can." He said slowly, "Because she is not my daughter at all, let alone Jingchuan's biological sister."

Princess Yong turned her head suddenly and looked at her husband in disbelief.

Lin Xingyao was struck by lightning and froze in place.

"Your Highness..." Princess Yong's voice was shaking.

"Do you still remember the Rebellion of the Five Kings?" Prince Yong's voice was filled with a distant sadness. "When you gave birth, there was chaos inside and outside the palace. The midwife who delivered you took advantage of the chaos and took our daughter away."

"When I found the midwife, she switched her baby with our daughter's."

"Our real daughter died...died in the chaos back then."

"And she," Prince Yong pointed at Lin Xingyao, who stood there frozen, "she is that midwife's child."

The expression on Lin Xingyao's face was almost unable to hold back.

She took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down.

"Father..." She forced a laugh that was uglier than crying, "That midwife died a long time ago, and everyone who knew the truth is gone."

"You can't...you can't slander your daughter's background just to give the Zhao family an explanation!"

As long as she doesn't admit it and as long as there is no evidence, they can't do anything to her!

King Yong looked at her dying struggle with no pity in his eyes, only disgust.

He didn't say another word, only said in a deep voice to the outside of the door: "Bring him in."

Two guards came in, escorting a thin man in tattered clothes who reeked of alcohol.

As the man entered the room, his cloudy eyes looked around everywhere. When his gaze fell on Lin Xingyao, it suddenly lit up.

Prince Yong pointed at the man and said to Lin Xingyao, "This is the man who was the midwife back then. He's your biological father."

Prince Yong coldly watched the last trace of blood fade from her face. "Do you think that if the midwife died, her husband would die with her?"

"I have put in some effort and finally found him back from out of town."

He turned to the man and said, "Tell her who you are."

The man rubbed his hands, showing his yellow teeth to Lin Xingyao, and smiled: "My daughter, Daddy... Daddy is here to see you."

"No! You are not!" Lin Xingyao screamed.

King Yong ignored her collapse and announced her final outcome in a voice as steady as a mountain.

"If you don't acknowledge me, that's fine. Today, in front of everyone, I will certify my blood relationship with you!"

"Come here, prepare water and get a knife."

"No--"

Lin Xingyao completely collapsed.

She looked at the man on the ground who made her feel extremely humiliated and disgusted, and all her rationality turned to ashes in an instant.

She screamed hysterically not at Prince Yong, nor at Lin Jingchuan, but at the man.

"Didn't you abandon us mother and daughter a long time ago and disappear without a trace? Why did you come back? Why?!"

This roar was a wail of despair, but also a disguised admission of guilt.

She knew it was all over.

The king whom she had called father for more than ten years was determined not to want her anymore.

Lin Xingyao's disguised confession is more heartbreaking than any evidence.

Princess Yong's body shook. She stared at Lin Xingyao intently, then slowly turned her head to look at the filthy man.

Is that Xingyao’s biological father?

So the daughter whom she had cherished for more than ten years was born from this muddy thing?

But her own biological daughter, the real princess, had died in the turmoil and even her body could not be found.

absurd.

How ridiculous.
