Chapter 577: Master Li's Default

Chapter 577 Master Li's acquiescence

Gu Qingchen was so angry that he stamped his feet and paced around the room.

Her stomach started to growl, and she remembered that she hadn't eaten lunch yet.

"A bunch of bad guys! They didn't even give me food to eat!" She sat in the corner, pouting in grievance, "I should have known not to come to this shabby place!"

As the night deepened, the little room became darker.

Gu Qingchen was hungry and sleepy. He curled up in the corner and began to miss the warmth of home.

At this moment, there were light footsteps outside the door.

"Sister?" Qian Zhenyun's voice sounded outside the door, "Are you okay?"

When Gu Qingchen heard his voice, tears almost fell from her eyes: "Qian Gun Gun! Why are you here?"

"I brought you some food." Qian Zhenyun whispered, "I secretly took it from the cafeteria."

A small bundle was pushed in from under the door, containing a few steamed buns and a small pot of water.

Gu Qingchen took it and devoured it ravenously. The bun was a little cold, but in her opinion, it was sweeter than any other delicacies.

"Money rolls in," she said as she ate, "and you're still the best to me."

"Sister, you should apologize to Master Li tomorrow," Qian Zhenyun advised from outside the door. "He's actually not a bad person, he just has a few strict rules."

"I'm not apologizing!" Gu Qingchen stiffened his neck, "He was the one who bullied me first!"

Qian Zhenyun sighed, "But this isn't a solution. You can't stay locked up in there forever."

"That's better than bowing to that old conservative!" Gu Qingchen said vaguely while biting the steamed bun.

There was silence outside the door for a while before Qian Zhenyun whispered, "Sister, I'm going back first. It would be bad if we were discovered. You should get some rest early. I'll find a way to bring you food tomorrow."

Listening to his departing footsteps, Gu Qingchen felt a warm feeling in his heart.

Although she was locked up in this dark little room, at least there was someone who cared about her.

She leaned against the wall, looking at the sparse starlight outside the small window, and began to think about what to do tomorrow.

It's impossible to apologize, but it's not a solution to keep wasting time like this.

"Hmph, wait until I come up with a good idea, then you'll see how I deal with that Master Li!" She muttered softly, with a cunning gleam in her eyes.

Qian Zhenyun had just taken a few steps when he heard footsteps behind him.

He was startled and hurriedly stuffed the remaining steamed bun in his arms, turned around and wanted to leave quickly.

"Student Qian." Master Li's voice rang out in the night, carrying a bit of majesty.

Qian Zhenyun's body froze, and he had to stop and turn around politely to salute: "Master Li."

Master Li walked slowly towards them. His face was unclear in the moonlight, but his eyes were exceptionally bright.

He looked at the bulging collar of Qian Zhenyun's clothes in his arms, and glanced at the closed little room behind him.

"It's so late, why are you still in the yard?" Master Li asked, his tone unable to tell whether he was happy or angry.

Qian Zhenyun lowered his head, his small hands tightly clutching the corner of his clothes: "Student, student can't sleep, come out for a walk."

"Really?" Master Li walked closer. "Then what are you hiding in your arms?"

Qian Zhenyun's face turned red instantly, and he stammered and couldn't speak.

He wanted to lie, but he didn't dare. He wanted to tell the truth, but he was afraid of implicating Gu Qingchen.

Master Li looked at him like this and sighed inwardly.

This child is honest and won't lie. He is obviously worried about the little girl.

"Take it out." Master Li stretched out his hand.

Qian Zhenyun bit his lip, and finally took out the steamed bun from his arms and put it in Master Li's hand.

"The student knows he's wrong," he whispered. "The student shouldn't have stolen the buns from the cafeteria."

"Do you know that private schools have their own rules?" asked Master Li.

"The students know." Qian Zhenyun lowered his head. "The students are willing to accept the punishment."

Master Li was silent for a moment, then handed the steamed bun back to him: "Take it."

Qian Zhenyun was stunned and looked up in disbelief: "Master?"

"Since you've taken it, don't waste it." Master Li put his hands behind his back and looked towards the hut. "Although that girl has a bad temper, she's still a child after all. How can she reflect on her mistakes if she's hungry?"

A hint of surprise flashed across Qian Zhenyun's eyes, but he soon became worried: "Master, aren't you angry?"

"What's the point of getting angry?" Master Li said calmly, "The most important thing in teaching is to tailor teaching to the individual's aptitude. Some children need strictness, while others need leniency."

He turned and looked at Qian Zhenyun: "You are a kind-hearted child. You know how to care about your classmates. This is a good thing. But remember, the rules cannot be broken. Next time if you have any problems, you can come to me directly."

Qian Zhenyun nodded vigorously: "Students remember it."

Master Li waved his hand and said, "Go ahead and get some rest. You still have classes tomorrow."

Watching Qian Zhenyun walk cautiously towards the hut, Master Li shook his head.

These two children, one is too outgoing and the other is too reserved, both need to be taught well.

The next morning, Gu Qingchen woke up in a daze in the small room, his body very stiff.

She rubbed her aching neck and looked through the small window to see that it was already bright outside.

"Damn Master Li, he made me sleep on the hard floor all night!" She muttered through gritted teeth, and her stomach began to growl again.

There were footsteps outside the door. Gu Qingchen thought it was Qian Zhenyun coming to bring her food, so she hurried to the door.

"Money rolling in?"

"It's me." Master Li's voice rang out from outside the door, sounding a little more relaxed than yesterday. "Student Gu, how have you considered this?"

Gu Qingchen rolled his eyes: "What is there to consider? I didn't do anything wrong!"

Master Li sighed, "You weren't paying attention in class yesterday and you contradicted your teacher in public. Wasn't that wrong?"

"I can already recite the Three Character Classic, why should I waste time listening to you repeat it?" Gu Qingchen said righteously.

"And I'm telling the truth. Can't I tell the truth?"

There was silence outside the door for a moment, and then Master Li's voice rang out again, with a hint of helplessness: "Your knowledge may be good, but your character needs to be honed. A private school is not only a place to study, but also a place to learn how to be a good person."

"Be a human being?" Gu Qingchen sneered, "Then teach me, what does it mean to be a human being? Is it like you, who takes advantage of your status as a teacher to lock up students at will? Or is it like those students, who only know how to flatter others?"

Master Li was choked by her and was speechless.

This little girl is very eloquent and every word she says hits the nail on the head.

"Think about it again." Master Li could only leave after saying this.

Gu Qingchen leaned against the wall, getting angrier the more he thought about it.

She grew up in the Duke of Zhenguo's Mansion. Although her mother was strict with her, she had never suffered such injustice.

"Humph, isn't it just a shabby private school? What's so great about it!" She stood up and paced around the room. "Wait until I think of a way, and then you'll see how I deal with you!"
