"what's on your mind?"
Gu Ye's question brought Yu Sheng back to her senses. She said, "I sprained my ankle, so it's inconvenient to wear pantyhose and high heels anymore. I asked a delivery person to buy me a pair of pants and sneakers."
She didn't lie because she felt guilty; she was afraid that telling the truth would only lead to more misunderstandings.
Gu didn't say anything, he just stared at her. She felt guilty under his gaze, thinking he didn't believe her. Just as she opened her mouth to say that what she said was true, Gu suddenly picked her up around the waist.
Yu Sheng was startled and exclaimed, "What are you doing?"
Gu Ye remained silent, placed her on the sofa, knelt on one knee in front of her, and asked, "Which ankle did you sprain?"
Yu Sheng pointed to her right foot.
Gu lifted her leg by supporting her calf, then removed her slippers, revealing her swollen instep.
"Does it still hurt?"
When Yu Sheng heard Gu Ye ask the same question, she assumed the matter was over and her tone softened: "There's still a little."
"Who put safflower oil on you?"
Gu Ye's question caught Yu Sheng off guard. She paused for a moment, then said, "I applied it myself..."
Gu Ye put Yu Sheng's feet on the ground, looked up at her, and asked, "Really?"
Afraid that Gu Ye would see through her lie, Yu Sheng blurted out, "Of course it's true."
Gu smiled and took her hands, stroking them onto his face.
Yu Sheng was still reluctant to have physical contact with Gu Ye and tried to pull her hand away, but Gu Ye wouldn't let go.
He rubbed his face against her hands and asked, "Why don't your hands smell at all?"
Yu Sheng keenly realized what he was talking about. Her eyelashes trembled slightly with nervousness, but she asked calmly, "What's that smell?"
Gu Ye looked up at Yu Sheng: "Scent of safflower oil."
"I washed my hands, so of course there's no smell!" Yu Sheng said, pretending to be very natural.
Gu also took Yu Sheng's hands, kissed them, and said, "Sheng Sheng, we are husband and wife, you shouldn't have lied to me!"
Yu Sheng felt guilty and anxious, but she couldn't show it. She pulled her hand back and said in a serious tone, "I didn't lie!"
"Okay, you say your hands don't smell of safflower oil because you washed them. Then tell me, did you wash your wrists and sleeves as well? Otherwise... why aren't there any safflower oil smells on them?"
Gu Ye spoke these words in an exceptionally gentle voice, and his face returned to its usual warm and gentle appearance, leaving Yu Sheng speechless.
Seeing that she couldn't hide it any longer, Yu Sheng simply said, "I didn't mean to lie to you. I was afraid you would overthink it if you knew."
Gu coaxed, "Okay, I won't think too much about it. Tell your husband where he touched you."
Gu Ye's words made Yu Sheng feel deeply insulted, and she didn't want to say another word to him.
She stood up, without even putting on slippers, and headed upstairs to the second floor.
The moment she took a step, Gu grabbed her wrist.
She looked at him and said coldly, "Let go."
As soon as she finished speaking, he pulled her back forcefully, and she fell onto the sofa.
Gu Ye's rude actions surprised Yu Sheng. When she turned her head to look at him in disbelief, he sat down in front of her and put her legs on his lap.
What are you doing?
As Yu Sheng asked the question, she tried to pull her leg back, but he held it tightly with one hand and made a 'shh' gesture to his mouth with the other: "Be quiet."
"What exactly do you want?" Yu Sheng asked impatiently.
"Honey, tell your husband, besides this, what else did he do to you?" Gu Ye asked, gently stroking Yu Sheng's injured foot.
Yu Sheng tried to pull her foot out of his grasp, but as soon as she made the movement, he suddenly exerted force, and Yu Sheng cried out in pain, "Ah, Gu Ye, it hurts..."
"If you know what pain is, then be good."
As Gu Ye spoke, he released his grip on her foot and slid his hand up to her calf: "Did I touch you here?"
"No, no, he just applied medicine to my wounds," Yu Sheng shouted.
"Really?"
Yu Sheng looked at him with reddened eyes: "Really!"
"I don't believe it, I need to check."
Yu Sheng paused for a moment, then asked, "How do I get checked?"
Gu didn't say anything, but showed a strange smile.
The moment Yu Sheng saw her hand slide up her calf, she immediately understood how he was going to check her.
She was so frightened that she squeezed her legs together and cried out, "Gu Ye, don't do this!"
