Chapter 133 Funeral Home and Adultery

Yu Sheng stood up in shock.

When she asked him in his office how Red Hare was doing, he said it was fine. But just a few hours later, he said Red Hare had died? What happened?

Yu Sheng immediately called Shang Yan back.

Shang Yan had been holding his phone tightly in his hand. When he saw Yu Sheng calling, he immediately answered, "Hello?"

Upon hearing Shang Yan's voice, Yu Sheng hurriedly asked, "How could Red Hare have suddenly died?"

"Poisoning," Shang Yan said.

"Poisoned?" Yu Sheng asked in confusion. "What kind of poison?"

“Cyanide is a type of poison. Some extremists poison their pets by mixing it into their favorite foods,” Shang Yan explained.

"Did Red Hare eat something that was poisoned?"

"It should be, but I don't know how it was eaten yet. I called you just to let you know about it."

Shang Yan's voice carried a faint sadness, which made Yu Sheng feel uneasy. She asked, "Where are you now?"

"Just came from the pet hospital, and I'm about to take Chitu to the pet crematorium for cremation."

Yu Sheng tentatively asked, "Are you alone?"

"Um!"

"I'd like to go with you to see Red Hare off, is that alright?"

"Of course, Rabbit will be happy to know that you gave it to it."

"Send me the address of the funeral home, and we'll meet there."

"good!"

Yu Sheng changed her clothes and went downstairs. She tried to call a car on her phone, but no one accepted the order for a long time.

She was anxious, so she called a designated driver.

After the designated driver arrived, he drove her Tesla straight to the address Shang Yan had sent.

A short walk from the residential area, after turning right, you'll reach a traffic light intersection.

The sudden death of Red Hare and the place it was about to go left Yu Sheng with a heavy heart.

She was staring out the window, completely oblivious to the familiar Maybach parked at the intersection of the opposite lane next to the green belt, and even less aware of the people inside...

But the people inside noticed Yu Sheng and secretly followed her car.

The funeral home Shang Yan sent was located in a detached house far from the city center, and it would take almost an hour to open.

Yu Sheng had never been to a pet funeral home before. She thought that such a place would be as gloomy and cold as a human funeral home. To her surprise, the place was built like an art gallery.

Next to the courtyard gate is a stone with the words 'Pet Paradise' carved on it in cute lettering!

Upon entering, you'll find a courtyard in the distinctive Barclo style, filled with sculptures, mostly of cats and dogs of various designs. Passing through the courtyard, you'll come into view a large glass room, which is divided into several spaces and decorated in a minimalist yet warm white color scheme.

When she went in, Shang Yan was sitting on the sofa, lost in thought. Even from a distance, she could feel the sadness emanating from him.

She walked over and sat down opposite him. Only then did he come to his senses and look at her, saying, "You're here..."

"Hmm." Yu Sheng nodded and asked, "Where's Rabbit?"

"The makeup artist is preparing its remains."

Shang Yan felt terrible when he thought about how Red Hare's lower body was covered in feces and urine when he first brought it in.

In Yu Sheng's eyes, Shang Yan was a cold and indifferent person. She never imagined that he would show such a sad expression because of a stray dog, and even personally bring it to the funeral home for cremation...

To be honest, she was quite surprised when he said that on the phone.

Seeing him like this in person was even more unexpected.

She never expected that he, who seemed so aloof on the outside, would have such a warm and tender side.

She wanted to say something to comfort him, but for a moment she didn't know what to say.

Just then, she noticed the bruises on Shang Yan's face and asked in confusion, "What happened to your face?"

After hesitating for a moment, Shang Yan said frankly, "Gu Ye took a taxi!"

Yu Sheng was startled and asked, "He went to see you?"

"Um……"

Yu Sheng immediately apologized: "I'm sorry, I've caused you trouble."

"I'm the one who caused you trouble!"

He wanted to say that directly.

But if you really say that, Yu Sheng will definitely realize something.

Because Shang Yan would never have said such a thing in the past!

He forced himself to swallow those words.

"Did you apply any medicine?" Yu Sheng asked with concern.

Shang Yan touched the bruise on his face and said, "No need to apply medicine, it will heal on its own."

"It will get better on its own, but it will be slow. You are a public figure, so you should be more careful."

After Yu Sheng finished speaking, she got up and walked towards the staff member next to her. "Excuse me, do you have erythromycin ointment?"

"No, but here's this one, how about it?"

Yu Sheng took it and found it was mupirocin ointment, which has anti-inflammatory properties.

"May I use it?"

"sure."

"Thanks."

Yu Sheng was so worried about Shang Yan's injuries because she felt guilty that his injury was related to her.

She returned to Shang Yan and handed him the ointment, saying, "Apply this to your face first..."

Shang Yan hadn't really taken the injury on his face seriously, but Yu Sheng had, so he naturally wouldn't refuse his kindness. He took the ointment from him, squeezed some onto his finger, and applied it to his injured face.

Seeing that he hadn't applied it properly after trying for a long time, Yu Sheng pointed to the area under her eyes and said, "You haven't applied it properly here."

Shang Yan squeezed out another piece of ointment, applied it, but still couldn't get it all the way through. Yu Sheng got anxious, so she got up and walked over to him, dipped her hand in the ointment, and gently applied it to the area under his eyes.

The two were very close, so close that their breaths were intertwined, but neither of them had a single chaotic thought. Perhaps it was because Gu Ye had disturbed them, or perhaps it was because the occasion was inappropriate!
