Yu Jing muttered to herself for a moment, then sat down at the dressing table and began removing her makeup.
Then she went to the bathroom to wash up. After washing her face and getting ready to brush her teeth, she realized she didn't have her own toothbrush. She came out and asked Yu Sheng, "Do you have a new toothbrush?"
Yes, I'll get it for you!
Yu Sheng closed her book, got out of bed and went into the bathroom. She immediately noticed a set of toiletries on the sink, which Gu Ye had obviously just placed upstairs.
Yu Sheng had just thought that what he was doing was unnecessary, and she still felt that way now.
Yu Jing noticed her staring at the toiletries on the sink and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing much."
Yu Sheng retorted, took a new set of toothbrush and toothpaste from the cabinet, handed it to Yu Jing, and then left.
As she went to draw the curtains, she suddenly thought of Shang Yan.
I wonder if she's back yet?
She wanted to send a message to Shang Yan to ask him about it. When she went to look for her phone, she suddenly remembered that her phone was still with Gu Ye.
The last person she wanted to see right now was Gu Ye, so she would rather not use her phone tonight than ask him for it.
But she wanted to know if Shang Yan had returned, so she opened the glass door and walked towards the balcony.
The balcony has no windows, just like the outside.
She was only wearing a thin layer of clothing, and she shivered from the cold as soon as she went outside.
She hunched her shoulders and looked next door, and when she saw that it was still dark, she realized that Shang Yan had not returned yet.
She stared at the villa, its outline blurred under the dim yellow streetlights, for a while. As she turned to go inside, the road outside the villa was illuminated by the high beams of a car.
Yu Sheng wasn't sure if Shang Yan was driving, but she hoped it was him.
When she saw the car stop in front of Shang Yan's house, she felt a surge of joy—it really was him!
As Shang Yan stepped out of the car, exhausted and saddened, he felt a gaze upon him.
He followed the gaze and looked in that direction.
The next second, he and Yu Sheng on the second floor stared at each other without any eye contact.
He was somewhat surprised to see Yu Sheng standing there in a thin floral nightgown.
Why was she standing there? Was she waiting for him?
The thought that Yu Sheng might be waiting for him made Shang Yan's Adam's apple bob with excitement.
Just then, he saw Yu Sheng waving at him.
His adorable appearance somewhat dispelled the sadness on his face.
The corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up slightly.
It's just like a boy in his adolescence being greeted by the girl he has a crush on.
He wanted to stare at Yu Sheng a little longer, but worried she might catch a cold, so he raised his hand and waved to her, signaling her to go inside.
After Yu Sheng obediently went inside, he felt a pang of loneliness.
He stared at the empty balcony for a few more moments before turning to go inside.
But just as he turned around, his phone rang, and he frowned when he saw it was Yu Jing calling.
Just then, he felt that gaze again.
Turning around, I saw Yu Sheng holding a phone in her hand.
Shang Yan was taken aback.
Could it be... that she's using Yu Jing's phone to call him?
In an instant, Shang Yan's heart raced.
He pressed the answer button and tentatively called out, "Hello?"
"Brother, it's me, Yu Sheng..."
The moment Yu Sheng's soft, gentle voice reached him, Shang Yan's mind went completely blank.
Seeing that Shang Yan didn't speak again, Yu Sheng said, "Brother, can you hear me?"
Shang Yan looked up at Yu Sheng and said, "Yes!"
