The cold instruments in the room and the faint smell of disinfectant in the air pushed Yu Sheng's inner tension to the extreme.
She stood helplessly and even somewhat fearfully in the room for a while before sitting down on a stool and continuing to search for information related to egg retrieval on her phone.
Even though she had already read a lot of this information last night, she still felt scared and uneasy when she read it again.
Especially after seeing a user share a photo of herself lying in bed with her legs spread, she couldn't help but look at the red gynecological examination bed next to her.
The thought of lying in that position herself made her feel embarrassed and want to run away.

As Yu Sheng unconsciously gripped her phone tightly with her sweaty hands, she heard the sound of a door opening.
Upon seeing that the person who entered was the doctor who had just left, he quickly stood up.
After the doctor came in, he drew the curtains, glanced at the pink bed, and said to Yu Sheng, "Take off your pants, spread your legs, and lie down on it!"
Although she had already imagined herself lying on it, when the moment actually arrived, Yu Sheng's mind still went blank.
She paused for a moment, her hand gripping the bag unconsciously tightening.
The doctor noticed Yu Sheng's nervousness and embarrassment and laughed, "I'm a woman, and you're already embarrassed. If I were a male doctor, wouldn't you be even more embarrassed?"
Yu Sheng lowered her head awkwardly and said, "Then I might ask you to find me a female doctor."
“In our eyes, there is no distinction between genders; you are all patients.”
After the doctor finished speaking, he pulled a curtain closed next to the pink bed and asked Yu Sheng, "Are you feeling any better now?"
The pink bed was placed against the wall. When the curtain was drawn, it created a three-sided enclosed space, which did give people a sense of security compared to the open space before.
After Yu Sheng nodded gently, the doctor said, "Then go in and take your clothes off. Call me when you're done and lying down."
Yu Sheng steeled herself and walked behind the curtain. She saw a simple folding chair next to the pink bed and guessed that it was for the patient to take off their clothes.
After she put her bag on it, she started to take off her pants.
For ease of putting on and taking off, she specifically chose a pair of fleece-lined pants. She didn't wear thermal underwear underneath, and after taking them off, all that was left was a pair of pure cotton white underwear.
Although the air conditioning was on full blast in the room, when she took off her pants, she still felt her legs were bare and cold, making her feel very insecure.
Before taking off her underwear, she subconsciously looked up, as if to make sure there were no cameras, before hooking the thin fabric with her hand and pulling it off.
At this moment, she didn't need to look in the mirror to know how uncomfortable her face looked. When she looked at the pink bed in front of her, she felt like a pink monster, and she didn't want to touch it at all.
But when the doctor asked if she was alright, she panicked and replied, "Right away," and lay down on the bed in one swift motion, giving her brain no time to think.
When the doctor pushed the machine in and glanced between her open legs, she felt like she wanted to disappear on the spot. She turned her head away in embarrassment.
The doctor seemed used to it, and sat down on the chair in front of her legs to begin his work.
Seeing that she had hung an IV bottle on the IV stand, as if she was about to give her an injection, she asked, "What is this?"
"The anesthetic will be administered intravenously. You will be unconscious throughout the entire process and will not feel any pain. You will wake up in ten to fifteen minutes after the egg retrieval is completed."
Yu Sheng secretly breathed a sigh of relief when she heard what the doctor said.
I thought to myself: Luckily, she was unconscious throughout the whole process, otherwise I'm really not sure if I would have awkwardly run away halfway through...
Not long after the acupuncture, Yu Sheng felt her mind becoming increasingly muddled and her eyelids becoming heavier and heavier, and then she lost consciousness.
When she opened her eyes again, she was still lying on that pink bed.
However, her legs, which had been spread apart by the instruments, were now lying flat on the bed, covered with a white sheet, and the curtains were drawn. She didn't know if anyone was in the room.
She wanted to get up and put her clothes on first, but as soon as she sat up, she felt a slight pain in her lower body. She groaned and immediately stopped moving.
Just then, a woman's voice came from beside him, asking, "Awake?"
Yu Sheng didn't answer, but looked through the curtain.
The curtains blocked out light, so she couldn't see anything.
But she heard a woman walking towards her.
After the curtain was pulled open slightly, she saw the woman's face.
Seeing that it was that doctor, I immediately felt relieved.
"How are you feeling?" the doctor asked immediately afterward.
"It hurts a little," Yu Sheng said somewhat embarrassed.
“This is normal. I’ve arranged a bed for you next door. You can lie there for an hour or two and leave once the bleeding has completely stopped.”
With two uneasy hands, Yu Sheng gripped the sheet covering her lower body and said, "Can I put on my clothes now?"
The doctor smiled and said it was okay, then pulled the curtain up and got busy.
Although Yu Sheng couldn't see, she could hear the sound of her typing on the keyboard.
So, while getting dressed, she asked, "When will we come next time?"
The doctor replied, "Embryo culture takes 3-6 days. Once it's complete, we'll call you. Try to relax as much as possible these next few days and don't be too anxious or worried, as this will help increase the chances of a successful embryo transfer."
Yu Sheng really wanted to ask how long after the embryo transfer she would know if it was successful, but she gave up before she could say it. Why think so far ahead? Let's just get the embryo transferred first!
Collecting sperm is much easier than collecting eggs. After Gu finished, he sat at the door waiting for Yu Sheng. When he saw her come out, he immediately went to greet her.
